Today is the day that i will stop gambling 10/15/2024 - hope to fully recover soon, having set backs literally, lost my borrowed money for a business to chase some losses. its true that even if you win big, all winnings will be not enough because it will trigger you to chase for more. not knowing if you lose some, u will keep chasing loses until it hit u hard rock bottom. all your winning will be gone and instantly u will be in debt. now my last salary and hard earn money just lost in a minute because of my setbacks and my borrowed money for business is gone. do not know where to start again and hope to recover soon because it is not just mentally draining and exhausting, its also depressing that even u and your family will be destroyed because of gambling. I was in complete disbelief, how i won and lose. Still feels like a dream

I think your money should be locked for a duration of time so when you win it actually gives you a rush and no bad feelings because you know the money is still there waiting for you at a later time in life.

I thought of an awesome way to help stop . If there was an app on the iPhone that was like a casino app but it was a savings account so you put in money and win your money back while saving. You would need to invest into it at first but in time would become a legitimate rush winning money out of your own savings account. I love the almighty buffalo megaways slot soooooooo much I would definitely live on this savings app if it existed 😢

I beat gambling addiction, it can be done. Was a hard-core gambing addict for almost 10 years straight. How you beat it? You have to prioritize something greater and it gambling falls off your mind. I got custody of my son, after 10 years of his mother drugs and abuse. Well I realized that kid needs more than I need gambling. First week without gambling, didn't notice, raised my son, first month didn't notice, first year and finally second year of being gambling free did I notice I had zero pull to start gambling. Even the thought of going to the casino made me feel uneasy. So it can be done. I lost over 150k in ten years and probably it was more like 240-280k look what I could've had, house cars nicer job but I got my son and that's all I need. Money will come just not easy, for all those who suffer from this disorder it can be over come you have to want it.

Sounds like a great webinar Barry. Another important factor in addiction in addition to trauma is screening for ADHD. Every client I see for addiction I screen for trauma and ADHD and it's rare the client doesn't have trauma and/or meet criteria for ADHD

This is dangerous and disingenuous as compulsive gamblers cannot overcome but can arrest their gambling. The only proven method of success is consistency through GA just like any 12 step fellowship.
