Guitar Tuning Stability. Improve your Vibrato for FREE!!
eu tenho uma guitaarra dessas aa 14 anos, e sou muito feliz com a minha, uma guitarra muito bem feita, com som perfeito para todos os estilos.
what kind of bridge does it have? and how are the strings put through it?
Very light?, lol. It´s super heavy.
What is the fretboard radius? Thanks
Great guitar and playing 👍
you dont need to flip - just change the wiring of one of the coils
You say that the middle position is the middle pickup; are you sure? Isn't the middle position supposed to be neck+bridge? I believe that's the normal "Nashville" setup on a SSS Tele, at least it's like that on my Fender Nashville Tele.
Is it solid koa? Or veneer?
It's Laminated Koa Top
I find it too dark with new pickups😮
Hi, just wanted to say that your CR250 looks gorgeous, I have that same guitar, I also have the pre headstock change version, but my mods went on the more modern direction (Hipshot, EMG 57/66 Set). The only weak-ish spots are the Pots and the Tuners, the Pickups are insanely good for the price.
Hi, Thanks. These pickup are indeed more "vintage" tone.
hey bro, what is the song 8.14 ? Is it worth changing something and improving this guitar, or is it good ?
Hi.. This is "Parisienne Walkwayd - Gary Moore"... i'm just a shadow of what Gary can do.
o just ordered one of these.. have they changed them because the knoxville sss sees it has a darker neck and head.... still shiny.. but also in another revies i see its darker then in this video.. i hope its ok else i just resend it
Looks and sounds great.
I’ve owned mim ceramic pickups, Chinese pickups, pure vintage 65 pickups, classic vibe 70’s pickups, and now these Roswell STA pickups. I’ve got a .50 cap in it. I’ve AB’d it with my dad’s vintage noiseless pickups and what I discovered is if I rolled the volume back a little you couldn’t distinguish who was playing what. I feel that perhaps the same effect could be done by lowering the pickups as well. I didn’t prefer the SC101’s but I could tell the STA’s were a tad warmer and the SSL’s had a tad more treble. However, I’m curious if you rolled off the volume or lowered the pickups of some of that warmth would go away? Just a thought.
Hello, thank you for the demo ! Do you have tried the HB SC550 ? do you think this CORT is better ? And your CORT is from which year please ? Thank you !
I have both.. (i have 2 550.. because i couldn't resist on an amazing deal/price on the second one) the 550 is heavier. The feel of the neck is about the same.. The 550 have alnicoV pickups with a little more output and the 250 alnicoII. They both sound good.
i went to a shop to get this in Amber brand new but ended up with a CR300 with EMG's retroactive's FAT 55s. There's a huge difference in fit and finish. Very plasticky feeling on the lower end models. The shop made an error with the price, so i got it for less than a CR200 new.
I think that the only change from the 250 to 300 are those EMG pickups.
I have had mine for 6 months now & I love it ! What I didn’t like is the Wilkinson easy lock tuners. No matter how you string them they look untidy & are slow to re string. I replaced them with Kluson vintage that I took off my MIJ 57 reissue strat which I love (plus string tree) and that made it perfect for me. Mine is a sunburst with a maple neck, tort scratch plate.
Strange comparison
If you remove the roller, would that do the same job as your spacers?
I've had this guitar for 10+ years now and it's still the best guitar I've ever owned or played. And I don't even have the pro version. VGS is really a top notch brand, especially for the price.
Thank you for the helpful video. Are there any soft or hard cases that can fit this condition? ?
Hey, it sounds really good! What kind of amp did you use on this demo?
Hi.. Thanks, at the time it was my old Digitech GPS1101 with a Marshall J45 and greenback IR. Meanwhile it broke and bought a Line6 Helix LT that i use also with a Marshall J45 + Greenback that i use on most recent videos
Somone offer me a trade their silver triumph for my fender hotrod amp .. It's nice sounding guitar, but I on the fence
Depending on what Hotrod model... this guitar is around 250/300.. but at the end is how much it worth for you (the Godin and the Hotrod).. if you make the deal, change the potenciometers to 500k ones. Cheers
You sound Greek 🩵
Eheh.. No, it is indeed South from Europe, but at the western point.
Just don’t go underneath the bar. Skip it ;) Guitars with an angle between neck and top will still provide an angle between the bridge and the rotating part of the bigsby. On flat guitars, however, going under the bar is necessary.
I didn't think about that... But if it works, it works. Thanks for this other solution.. perspective. I have to test it. Best Regards.
It's a Czechoslovakian guitar. I own the same one in mint condition. But it's one of the prototype versions. It has no serial number or information of any kind. And It's a freaking fabulous instrument. It's one of my best les pauls and I've owned many from Gibsons to vintage to ESP to Epiphones. The pick ups are amazing. Ferrite and Alnico 5s. Ive changed the pots to proper CTS with orange cap's. Costed me like 20 Euros on Amazon. Clean and oil it. New strings and set up. And you have a class A Les Paul for life.
Ps: it's colour is faded tobacco burst. And she's a beauty
I agree with you.. i own several Les Pauls from some brand like the ones that you've mentioned. And indeed this is a very nice one. Very nice neck with nice frets and solid wood choice.. the sound is amazing.
Congratulations on finding that VGS Eruption! I think if you remove the toggle switch cover on the back, you will find a serial number stamped into the wood around the opening just under the toggle switch cover. WE have a VGS Eruption Pro Europe in Faded Cherry, build in the Czech. in 2013. I was able to get the build info from GEWA by contacting them via email. They really are quality built pro instruments. Sounds great even before your setup work. I'm really happy to see others finding out how good these are. @@davesc7562
I think there may be a serial number stamped in the wood under the toggle switch cover. We have a VGS Eruption Pro Europe, and that is where our serial number is. I was able to get the build info from GEWA via email, and they told me from the serial number that our guitar was built in the Czech Republic in 2013. Hope this is helpful.
The Fender Telecaster Nashville also has the middle pickup out of phase... perhaps because they only want to give Telecaster-type sounds... for me it's better to put it in phase and have two Stratocaster-type sounds. Good music everyone.
The Telecaster type guitars with middle pickup tend to have this problem, also known as "the nashville effect". This is because on the telecaster neck pickups generaly the magnet polarity is not the same as strat pickups. You have 3 ways to fix that, 1 - Do like i did (it would be not a right magnet orientation/coil winding but fix the problem) 2 - find a pickup with the right magnet orientation to put in the middle (for example a Strat neck pickup). 3 - reverse the magnet polarity (yes! It can be done). At the end it's a trial and error.. since you have to match the 3 pickups to work together. You can also add a 0,50 cents switch to activate the neck pickup when you are on the bridge position so you can have the normal tele neck/bridge sound. Best regards
@@davesc7562 Dave i like transform this guitar in a TeleStratocaster .. i revers the central pickup and After a Little switch on/off for a neck pickup .. in bridge position at switch on .. play Telecaster sound bridge/neck .. in second position bridge/middle at switch on .. play a three pickups ensemble .. in this mode Is possible play seven sounds on guitar. Is a system used in Aria Telecaster Nashville.
@@Aquariumrock Hi. Exactly!
@@davesc7562 i used in my Stratocaster in 2005 this system .. 3 switchs on/off for a pickups control and i play 7 sounds in my Strato .. now i play the Brian May Red Special .. Is incredible .. 6 switchs for on/off pickups and phase/out of phase control .. many many sounds possibility .. bye from Italy Dave. 🎸🤠🎸
I lissen sounds of Aria Pro II 615 MK2 .. the central pickup Is in out of phase .. i don't now why this problem in this guitar type. 🎸🤠🎸🤠🎸
That Aria is a beautiful guitar! The strat model (714 i think) is also gorgeous, on the strat the only diwn is the jack input position.. Like i answered to the other comment. goodnight! How many millimeters is the body of this guitar?
Hi.. is 46 mm. Other LesPauls that i own. Gibson BFG - 46mm Epiphone Custom 50mm Epiphone Snakepit: 50mm HB 550 Amber: 50mm Cort CR250: 44mm
Thank you for reviewing! I watched both videos this one and the old one! I want to start playing guitar, what guitar should I get for a new beginner?
Thanks. I would recommend a HSS guitar.. you have several brands that have cheap good guitars for start under 200. the Jet JS-400, The Harley Benton ST-20HSS or Harley Benton ST70 Black Paisley. An used Cort 200 series that goes around 100 to 150 (Used) depending on witch model.
wow! congrats, if I have two p90 pick ups can I stack them together? to make a stack p90 humbucker?
..theoretically yes.. if they are both 52mm or 50mm.. just find the right coil orientation.
Hi Dave ! Thank you so much for this video. You are a genius. I installed the same pickups and I had the same issue with the hum when playing with a bit of overdrive. I tried your method and it works fine, now. I'm amazed there is no more videos or explanations about this problem, as this is a very common issue. Also, I wondering why the pickups don't come with the coil fliped right away ? Thank you again, very well done. Cheers.
Glad that i helped someone. 😉
Which do you prefer?
The ST-62... Basswood wood + those Roswell are magic.
Both of the Seymour Duncan and Duncan Designed pickups sounded better than the Roswell pickup. However, the Seymour Duncan picks definitely sounded the best....much fuller with better definition.
Hello friend, could you tell us what weight each of the guitars have? Thanks for the review! 👍🏻
I have a set of the Seymour Duncan SSL1's and they are way overpriced for what you get...I put a set of Fender tex mex pups up against them and the Fender pups sounded the same if not a little better. All these Boutique pick-ups are (for the most part) just a monumental rip off. The only pups I have found (and I have around ten different sets from ten different companies) that were worth the money are a set of Fender 56 vintage reissue pups (which you can't get anymore unless you buy a $5,000.00 custom Shop Guitar) and a set of Fender 54 vintage reissue pups (which are still too much are around $245.00-$269.00). Still, I honestly don't think any guitar pickups are worth more than $100.00 a set. Don't get me wrong you can pay to little for pups and get some real crap like Guitar Madness, Iron Gear, Tone Ryder, Stratosphere Hot Texas Blues pickups etc...and I am going to stop there as the list just goes on and on. The truth is that many of these really expensive pickups are just way overpriced and not any better than some of Fender's lower end pups. So in conclusion, don't waste you money in the pursuit of tone thinking that a Boutique name brand (or not...there is a ton of these boutique dealers popping up all over the net) expensive guitar pickup is going to escalate you to a higher guitar playing plane. Just my 2 cents worth. Peace
Thanks for your time and for share your knowledge, Sir Bob Geldof #TellMeWhy
Finally a video review where the guitars are not being put through a pedal board with lots of effects. Doing a review in this way, I can hear how clear and amazing these guitars sound. Thank you for the review, I want both guitars.
thank you dave really helpful and you play great
Im picking up a 62 based on this video. Awesome comparison!
Awsome video, thanx
Crazy that I did not hear a volume drop with the single coil mode - impressive. Sounds great. Thanks Dave.
Thank you for this opinion. Good test !
Do they make a stacked Strat single coil? Strange how several companies do it for P90s but not a traditional single coil pickups.
There is.. Seymour Duncan, Dimarzio and other have them.
There are few companies on ebay selling stacked strat pickups, but I have found that stacked P90 sound more like P90 then stacked strat as a strat.
Great I wondering if stacked would fit. Now I know!
Eemmm.. I forgot to tell that some rounting is needed... ... D..mn!
@@davesc7562 No worries. Thanks for the follow up letting me know.
I’m impressed, thanks for the vid. After playing guitar over 40 years, I recently acquired my first P90. I can’t stand the hum!
P90 sounds great. I'm also using dummy coils on strat type single coil guitars. Also easy to do and with good results.
Which tremolo feels better?
Hey bro love ur channel man nice vids.hey I got a quick question do u know if the st 62 has full size pots
Hi.. no, no full size pots.. but for me if they do their work and do not fail or turn noisy... it''s ok.
Gear4music Is in Sweden too,..Cheers =)
Yes.. they are in several places... overall the guitar made a good base for mods.. thinking in order a second one just for modding.
The ST-90 sounds a little warmer and the ST-62 sounds a little crisper.
