A lot of bag hitters on this comment thread. 12 oz for bag work, pads, and drills. 16oz for sparring. This is the way. No point in gassing out with 16s on drills. And gives you false sense with the bigger glove.

14oz.the best balance between a hard hitting glove and a speedy glove, good for people that need a balance between the two. Kinda good for sparring, great for real boxing, good for bagwork But also 8oz are good for pros at boxing because they support the user's punching speed my a ton. Good for people that can pack a punch (without much glove weight added) and have a need of minimal defense (or have good defense). Horrible for sparring, bad-meh for real boxing, magnificent for bag work 18oz are probably the best option for heavyweight boxers that can throw a fast punch with a big amount of weight attached. Also suitable for those with a big need of defense. Similar with 16oz but for those looking for a mix between 14oz and 18oz.great for sparring, good for real boxing, good for bagwork

One time I was supposed to spar this guy, I had my 16 oz gloves. And the mf pulls up with 10 oz or 12 oz, we still hit it off and had him on the ropes. But when you spar a guy who has gloves lighter than you, it's a big difference
