Once you sustain an injury, its hard to just jump back on the track. Going from injury to back on the track is a journey, I describe it as a bridge. Make sure you have cross training, rehab exercises, and a modified training program in your journey across the bridge to make sure the bridge doesn't break!

(That's atleast what I want to yell back) First thing, track your nutrition for a few days with any of those apps like fitness tracker, etc. Then check out this website to see the numbers...

Newbie here. I'd think a good training technique would be finding a 400m long VERY gradual hill/incline (maybe 5 degrees max?). And do your push/pace/power on that. Comments?

this weekend i had at track meet and i ran a 67 sec 400m, after the first 200m i was basically at the 200m mark i began sprinting seeing that i didn’t exhaust my self early in the race unlike my opponents. i ended up catching up the the first place girl with 50m to spare and she couldn’t catch up

My feeling was: If i absolutely wanted to quit at the 200 meter mark, I was doing well. If I felt I had something in the tank, I'd gone out too slow. If I didn't think too hard my legs would get me through the last curve and that final 100meters was pride + competitiveness. I only ever really broke down in my first ever race when I was def. carrying the piano for the last 50.

    Here is my plan 1) First 50m I give 100 % 2) Next 300m I walk 3) Last 50 I finish strong to make sure I make the 3 minute mark

The concept of running the first 5-7 seconds hard is actually historically false. Butch Renolds, Michael Johnson and Wayde Van Niekerk all ran very relaxed during their first 100 meters when they ran their world record times. You want to come out in a gradual relaxed acceleration. You’ll have way more in the tank during the last 100 meters.

This trainer does NOT have a clue about sprinting faster. If you have a dominant fast twitch sprinters ham, you need a 'full range' where you explode forward. If you do NOT have a dominant fast twitch sprinters ham, then what she is saying, will happen. If you develop a dominant fast twitch sprinters ham, you will discover another plateau of crazy speed. This trainer does not appear to know anything about dominant fast twitch sprinters hams (says guy who had crazy speed)

That's too much theory. Still... The best way to dash and finish well at the 400m Track & Field event; is to start quickly and not necessarily strongly. Then gain some speed at the first back straight; onto be at about 80% of yo speed; by the time you'd enter the last bend. Meanwhile, at the bend, use some of yo endurance to keep at those 80%. And then; go empty all yo battery time; at the final straight. To also remember that: at the 400m dash event; yo ability to deploy a good endurance; is what generates yo own best results.
