Excellent explanation and video. Will test mine tomorrow. It is not filling in some positions, works perfect when select HEAVY
@@fsimonpietri Just spotted this. Did it work? If not, did you ultimately solve the problem?
Yes. I used my air compressor to blow the diaphragm and voila, it is working perfect. Some dirt must have been obstructing the air sensing mechanism. Thanks!!!
Use compressed air from a can the stretched straw attachment fits in perfectly
Looks like he went into a house, not further up the street. He obviously was there to meet someone and I fear foul play because they were waiting for him😢
Thanks a lot, in my case the hose had a little hole, but understanding how it works helped me to find the solution!
@@oreon7907 A working washing machine is a working washing machine! Victory!
I’m in the same boat? When I blow into the tube at the switch side I can hear air so I’m thinking it’s clear but I still have the same issue it won’t shut off the water? I’m going to try compressed air and see if that makes a difference, I’m thinking the switch lost its sensitivity to operate, but does work when I blow in the tube?
Ok took shop air and blew it into the plastic tank attached to the tub and now it’s working. It’s shutting off at all three levels now?
Yikes. That sounds like you may need an actual pro.
Or I misunderstood...... did it work?
Thanks so much for this! Just like you said I was getting close to wits end and this cleared it right up!
MOST EXCELLENT! Glad it worked!
At the recommendation of a viewer I'm adding a donate link. I posted this video to help folks who might have the same problem and this video will be here as long as I have a channel. But... if you feel like this tutorial is worth a few bucks, I am NOT going to say no! If I've done this correctly you can donate using this link: paypal.me/overfillrg Thanks!
Sent you over a small donation! This fixed my system after 2 visits from appliance repair, a flooded laundry room, and a suggestion to replace the washer! This is the first issue I've had in 11 years and glad I didn't have to give up on a solid machine!
Thank you! I'm so glad you got it sorted!
Thanks for your help.
OMG. My tube was cleared, the switch is fine. I couldn't think of anything else. I actually heard a PoP when I applied the compressed air. Works perfectly now. Where's the "Donate" link on here?
Excellent! I'm glad you got it fixed. I had never thought of a Donate button. I'll have to see if I can figure out how to do that.
You are the best 🙂
Thanks!
I by pass the lid switch switch because my machine switch was defective I realized i5s start leaking underneath the was tub, base on my research that it needed back the lid switch I bought it online receive it already waiting to go in. Town where machine is so I can install it and see if it stop leaking when washing

37. I came from Wikipedia and read the article and came to this footage. Just a realization that a white suv from 0:31... is it the same as the one in 0:54 ? That may be far fetched. These cases of men disappeared (I also read those in Wikipedia articles) are fascinating to read because we have no idea if they're still alive or where they are now. What I know is that they're still on Earth
Was Neal Falls ever a suspect? Maybe they crossed paths, and told him he could get him some work at the dam, had him park there, and picked him up. Neal lived about 20mins from his disappearance area.
Ty!
Certainly!
Thank you soo much. You saved me hundreds of dollars!
EXCELLENT! So happy it helped!
This worked for me!! Tried the switch already and nope. Tried this as a second option so I didn't have to waste more money on parts I didn't need!
MOST excellent!
Thank you sir
You are so welcome! Happy to be useful!
Hi WyldWeezle. What I want to know is where is the gunk going because even if I use the compressed air and the air dome is cleaned out I'm concerned that the gunk will just settle back into the airdome after awhile.Should the tub have water in it before I use the compressed air.
It blows out into the washer and then goes down the drain. I ran a cycle after I did this just to make sure it was draining properly. I haven't had this particular problem again since posting this video. I presume it is gradually filling up again, but so far so good.
Thanks man! Had the exact same problem. The first time this happened I called a repair man and this was the issue. So now any time I have a filling problem this is the first thing I check.
It appears he's not actually carrying anything and instead has his hands in his pockets/jacket pockets.
I used this procedure to fix my washer that wouldn't progress past the wash cycle. The tub would drain, the pump would continue to run, and then eventually the washer would fault out and stop the cycle. The rinse cycle would not start. I used an air compressor with a needle that is used to inflate balls to get blow out the gunk (lots of pet hair). Also, make sure to remove about an inch from the hose that connects to the air dome to ensure a tight seal.
Excellent! Good advice re: the hose.
I know this is an old video but if anyone can help it would be great. I have the exact same machine. My problem is it won’t fill up to the proper amount. I, too, blew into the hose and it stopped filling. So its not the pressure switch. Then I did what you did. I sprayed compressed air into the air dome. I think it pushed a little of it out but not enough. I can still see blue-ish lint, and a black color like yours. The water now seems to be getting a little higher, but it won’t finish the entire cycle overall. It gets to the ‘wash’ phase and just freezes. Maybe the control board? Or maybe I’m not giving it enough time. It’s not my washer, fixing it for a family member. Not sure how long each process takes. Anyway, has anyone had my problem? Washer not filling up to the desired setting? Did this trick with the airdome work? If so, what did you use to clean it out? As a last resort, I’m going to drill a small hole in the air dome and clean it that way. Then buy an expensive epoxy glue to seal it back up. TIA
Anybody have this same issue? I remember seeing someone trying to get white vinegar inside the air dome to see if it would dissolve the stuff inside, or getting an unbent paper clip or something in there to swish it around. Anybody have an answer for @gatorr4life?
@@WyldWeezle I found a website that had an actual repair man on it. He said put bleach in the air dome and let it dissolve everything. Then open up the top part of the machine and disconnect the tube attached to the pressure switch. Blow hard until it feels clear. He’s said that should be enough. Going to try it out tomorrow. I’ll report back what happens. Thx for the reply.
@@gatorr4life Excellent!
@@WyldWeezle I didn’t try to clean it again. I thought I’d give it a shot and see if a couple of loads would help break it up. I set the control nob to “auto detect load”, and it worked like a charm. I think I’m going to clean it once more before I leave it alone for another 5 years. Going to spray some bleach in the air dome instead of vinegar. I’ll let it settle in for awhile. Then, instead of using a can of compressed air at the tiny hole, I’m going to blow very hard form the top of the tube. See if that helps some. I haven’t tried different water level settings yet, only the auto detect load setting. Gotta love the internet… You can do just abt anything if you have the time and patience. Thx again. 🙏
Awesome! Yeah, if not for the internet I wouldn't be able to fix anything in my house.
The exact DIY video I was looking for thank you so much. Washer is cycling correctly now. Didn't have to call the repair guy or spend big bucks on something new. Thanks again
Fantastic! Glad it helped!
AWESOME!!!! THANK YOU!!!! For the life of me, I do not know why ALL of these over fill videos did not cover this! It was driving me NUTS! Thank you so much for your post...this was great!
I'm happy it helped!

Glad it helped!
Just wanted to say this solved a no spin issue for me. Air dome got full and wouldn’t drain so the drain pump just kept running until it just shut off without a spin cycle, leaving the clothes soaking wet still. A blast of air to clean like you suggested and it drained, did a vinegar hot water soak for good measure, making sure it got into the air dome. The only solution to my problem, thank you so much. Great tip on how to check the pressure switch too.
Excellent!
Thank you so much!! I have no experience with washing machines and this video was simple, straight forward, and to the point. Thank you!
Great! Hope it helped!
Any chance you know where the lint trap is on an LG top loader?
@@vickbenice I don't. My GE doesn't actually have one.
fast forward a year later and now the machine is not draining enough water out so the clothes are still sopping wet after the cycle completes. There is some water floating in that pressure chamber so maybe I need to try the method in the video again, but wondering if this is a common issue with GE washers and if anyone has successfully been able to troubleshoot?
Haven't had the issue again personally, but let us know what you find out.
@@WyldWeezle apparently the lid lock switch may need to be replaced, going to try it.
DUDE!! This is a life saver!!!! It worked perfectly! You just saved me the trip from an appliance repair man, or worse a new washer! Thank you so much for posting this!
Excellent! Exactly why I shot this, cause I was thiiiiiiiis close to calling a repair service.
If compressed air fails, get some muriatic acid from a spa, pool, or hardware store, and a dropper from a pharmacy. Fill the dropper and drip the acid into the inlet tube of the air dome. it should dissolve the collected solids that are blocking the air dome. I did this five or six times and now the washer works. WARNING! Muriatic acid is extremely caustic! Wear rubber gloves and eye protection! it is usually only available in gallon or larger jugs. I talked a spa store into giving me about a pint.

I did exactly this and it worked. Thank you. I would recommend changing the title of this video because it wasn’t easy to find.

You are awesome. Thank you for making and posting this video. I'm going to try this tomorrow, and I'm confident it will fix my problem, I could see the gunk in this air dome as I was trying to figure out why my washer was overfilling. Blowing in the tube to test the switch is brilliant. Thank you!
Let us know how it goes!
@@WyldWeezle So it turned out my pressure switch was fine and the air tube was clear, despite being all full of funky stuff. So I'm almost certain the machine was set incorrectly from the factory, and we just never used the "Super" setting enough to realized it overflows when you do that. So I saw a set screw up in the pressure switch that I tuned a full turn counterclockwise, and it lowered the height of the water by about an inch. So it's fixed now, but by turning a set screw. And then I dumped 3 cups of bleach in the machine with the full tub of water and let it do a 30 minute long soaking cycle to clean up all the mold I never realized we had in the machine.
@@glatt1 Glad you sorted it. More information for anybody who finds their way here and turns out a blocked air dome isn't the issue, thank you for posting it!
My washer was not spinning and this step worked.
This comment made me try this fix as my washer's first symptom was not spinning out after washing and this fixed my washer!
Thank you for sharing this information. In my case I was able to clean the gunk from the air dome by blowing (with my mouth) into the other end of the tube. When I first started blowing I could tell there was a blockage. After 3 seconds I heard a pop and the blockage was clear!
Old school! Excellent!
