haha too cute! I used to have a beagle named Buddy and we're getting a St Bernard pup tomorrow if only Buddy was still around I could watch a beagle and a st bernard wrestle in person :P

@oliviamaxwell In defense of Cujo, he got rabies, so really it says nothing about the nature of the St Bernard. In the book it is much more clear that Cujo had a very gentle and loving nature before being bit. It's just people like to make generalizations.

@DanRaccoon It's not that they are dopey.. they can be but they are actually very mellow and intelligent. Most of the time they aren't very agressive, which is why I really can't stand the movie Cujo. Saint Bernards are a very loving breed and fun to raise. I know, I've raised a couple myself. The only thing is they don't like being left alone, especially in tight places. They just love people. ^_^

@DanRaccoon Well I have a 1 year old St Bernard and he is really protective he can get aggresive to strangers but hes really mellow with the family, hes a great companion too.

Ar St Bernards really as dopey and mellow as people say they are?

@krazbar1 : What worked for Beanie was just being confident with her, luring her with treats and rewarding her when she was brave. Bear in mind though that 10 weeks is quite young; the pool that the video was taken at wouldn't allow pups to swim at such a young age. That said, I think it's good to introduce them to new things while they're still in the socialization stage so that it doesn't become uber scary when they're older.

@SnOrfus The beagle never started trying to hurt the st. bernard. If he had hurt him the st bernard would have got defensive and started fighting back. They were playing the whole time.
