Maui supposedly has a pretty decent vanlife community. But I’m definitely enjoying Oahu while I can!

I would have to add to my solar array to power any AC. Plus, it never gets so hot that my fans don’t do enough.

@@bryleydalton I have actually lived on a sailboat for a few years, I still have it. If I didn't live in the Netherlands I would probably try to sell it to you. Anyway, if you are interested in buying a boat. go to the cheaper back water harbors and look for a boat that is clearly lacking maintenance for a few years. A boat is great if you use it all the time. It is horrible if you don't, believe me, I know, I have one. If it has rained a lot you have to check if it flushed out the water, if there is a storm you have to go there to check the lines. The battery is always flat. Anyway, try to find the owner of such a boat. I know people who did and got the boat for free. I would ask 5000 for mine but would be willing to go a lot lower. There are insane differences in prices depending on location. Hawaii might be expensive, but you could also try the mainland. And leave wooden boats alone, unless you are some sort of magical wood worker. Polyester is almost trouble free, easy to fix. Steel is fine too but welding skills are probably necessary. If you are capable of some basic sailing, you should be fine near the coast. An extra person would make it a lot easier. However if you cross the Ocean you do need an experienced sailor! Good thing they are the types of persons that like a challenge.

It’s a good workhorse. I can’t complain about anything except always wanting more standing height!

@@vanlifeadjustments I don’t go up there too much these days, as I’ve spent months and months on north shore previously. I do know that when I go up there, I see loads of vans gathered together off certain streets. Seemingly the perfect camper van surfer lifestyle.

@@bryleydalton maybe somehow you could find someone in a residential area who would rent out an extra parking spot to you. My neighbor did that once with another neighbor in my neighborhood

@@NormalPersonActivities I wouldn’t say it ever got too sketchy. Sure, there were some muddy sections and parts with ropes if needed. It was more so just an achievement due to the length and elevation.

@@mikeoxlong5843 I’ve done it previously. Most of these hikes I do risk trespassing fines, but they are SERIOUS when it comes to stairway and giving fines or even little arrests.
