Securing Winnerwell Fastfold Titanium stove pipe with quick set up guy lines
Переглядів 2,1 тис.3 роки тому
I have a very tall flue pipe for my Winnerwell Fastfold Titanium stove which have been sufficiently secured by the top of my tipi tent. But now I am placing the stove off center, to create more liveable space. Here is how I will secure the stove pipe with adjustable and quick to set up guy lines. This is where I got the guy line, carbine hooks and guy line tensioner: www.friluftstyger.se/sv/

Winter camping in hot tent with Winnerwell Fastfold titanium stove and DIY pulk sled
Переглядів 2,1 тис.4 роки тому
My second attempt to be comfortable while winter camping. This time I am bringing dry birch firewood to be sure I get the stove going. To be able to bring it, i build myself a pulk sled. One step forward for sure, but still not as comfortable as I wish to be!

I said in the previous video that I should look up hot tenting, as it is so boring to spend an entire evening in the cold when you are winter wild camping. So here we go! Got me a new hot tent and a portable stove. But not a pro when it comes to firewood yet... Urban wild camping with Helsport Reinsfjell Trek
Переглядів 9514 роки тому
Don't know if this idea to wild camp once every month was a great idea... Already too cold and dark to be fun. Sleeping was OK but spending the evening in freezing cold and darkness, well... Not my cup of tea. At least the pro tip from Patrick Dickinson helped! The Helsport Reinsfjell Trek was called Helsport Nordmarka Dome 2 back in the day when I bought it.

First video in my urban wild camping training series, where I will just spend the night somewhere in or close to Gothenburg, with the purpose to acquire basic camping skills. I want to learn how to I stay warm, dry, safe, hydrated, well-fed, well slept and keep my personal hygiene through the winter season, in all sorts of weather. When spring comes I should be fairly skilled and geared up! Maj...

Two night canoe adventure and wild camping with my brother Mats in the Kållandsö archipelago in lake Vänern, Sweden. Two fantastic campsites and some good food and drinks! Cod in white wine sauce and chanterelles was the prime number this time. Brochet Sauvignon Blanc to go with it. Eau de vie and Marabou chocolate for dessert. American pancakes with Nutella and coffee for breakfast. Burgenfels...
Don't use a small gasification wood stove -do this instead!
Переглядів 1,7 тис.5 років тому
For this first adventure on the Hovfjället trail, there is A LOT to review (starts at 4:04), as I learned so much from it, starting really at a beginner level. I am covering several areas: the trail, the campsite, the food and THE GEAR! Top 5 learnings: 1. I am a lot slower than I thought, averaging only 2 km/h instead of the 5 km/h I thought 2. Gasification wood stoves are highly impractical ...

Superbe vidéo.... merci... Quel est la différence entre votre quad versus le Pony4 (What is the difference between your quad vs the pony 4?)
Short answer: Pony4: light. Armadillo: heavier, more cargo
hi john, sorry for my english, i'm going to google translate everything, hope you can read this, i'm really excited about your cargo bike, and i'm considering buying one too, because you can transport a lot with it, and really I can laugh a lot with it, how are you satisfied with it, could you possibly describe it to me, and possibly what it costs in terms of the basic model, I would be very grateful to you john, thank you in advance LG Andi👍🌲🌲😁 from Germany
Thanks Andi, it is an Velove Armadillo which is hard to find these days. You can try posting a form at velove.se
John Beauty Full Cargo Bike ,Nice 😁👍👍👍👍👍
What you are showing,,where is your Cargo bike,,?
did you design/build the frame around your bike? it's wonderful
How is that nylon rope not melting under the heat?
There is a piece of metal wire that keeps the rope at a little distance from the stove pipe -it seems to be enough
is there any possibility to have one in CZ? I checked your website but could not find a market place ! 😁

I like it never rode on a recumbant but it looks interesting thank you for sharing
Recumbent is comfy and when it is also multitrack and suspended it is a very relaxing experience
Härlig känsla! Snart har jag en semitrailer på en fyrhjuling. Då blir varje plats mitt hem. 😉
Ser fram emot att se den! :)
jag är jätte stold över dig
I ordered Gstove including 17 items 28 April 2020. Order No: 100 3089. Receipt No; 5174-2548-3554-0073. I received 1st shipping 8 items April 2021. But Gstove does not make shipment until now. I do not receive 9 items. Gstove doesn't keep the promise. Gstove is bad company.😂
What was the match you used??

I have the Kni-co Packer stove which has a relatively massive diameter stove pipe. Used it for the first time this week. Luckily it was completely calm. But I realized the next morning that the wind could easily cause some problems. So I need to figure out a system to secure my stovepipe- like you are showing with the guy lines. Thank you!
No probs! Good luck!
Where did you get the top arrestor?
packraft-sverige.se/produkt/winnerwell-fastfold-titanium-stove/
Hey Johan, great video, I have the Finnmark for 4yrs now, also helsport stove, hopefully this year we get good snow and I can really test it wild camping, really like your compact stove mines is way fookin heavy man.👍🏻🥃🏴
Thanks! Did you get out this winter?
Doesn't it rain in the top when it rains heavily, because of the stove pipe
Yeah, that might be a problem, I am however only out with this setup in the winter
good reception thank you. where did you buy heat protection for pipes?
packraft-sverige.se/produkt/winnerwell-fastfold-titanium-stove/
So you make a tin pot protector for the bottom, doesnt weigh much.. and as far as paying attention to the fire..well..not sure what your doing but you load it properly like a Swedish torch you should get a long fuel burn,
I feel a bit stupid now... :) Does it work well in practice? Doesn't it still get the sides of the pot sooty?
@@WildJohan make an alum sleeve from lightweight material to slip on? An inch up the sides!
@@JediStockTrader Yeah I guess that would work, if you bring aluminum foil and throw the sleeve away after use.
👍👍👍
Great work on video mate greetings from spain 👍👍👍
Pls give one review about cargo bike only
Just posted a video that is at least a little bit about it. You can read more here: www.velove.se

My goodness, that's crazy and you live up to your name Wild Johan. It's very different from my rides here in Thailand. Check some of them out if you get the chance. JP
Hey Johann, I tried to get my Hands on an Armadillo Semi to build an off-grid Camper. I tried to get inTouch with velove, andall I heard was, that they dont sell it anymore to private customers, but lease it to Companies... is that really true?
Yeah
Es un carrito muy necesario para salir de campo
Yeah it's nice
Wonderful! Looking forward to more videos. (But at your own pace - enjoy the ride)
Great to see the windscreen wiper blades, are they a manual operation or linked to a battery?
Manual
hello again how heavy is your bike and how wide and long.
Width 86cm
67 kg without the ”body”. Maybe 100 altogether
Hello: I think your films are very well done, also that you tell something about the places: ask how much Ah does your bike have and how far you can get with one battery. thank you and keep it up.
You can bring as many batteries as you like
One battery gets you 25 km

How to make what?
Thanks for this, I have same stove. My tipi is a side hole version luxe f8e, which means it needs the 3 supports. It is best to leave a little play in the lines, not taught, you can easily make extra flue pipe rings from stainless steel wire sold for making vape coils. This also helps the chimney flue stay rigid. In heavy wind I use 10 inch taken from my flue pipe to brace where the chimney flue seats in the baffle ring on top plate, really simple to make, wrap around normally fitted chimney flue, mark where baffle is, cut a notch out, make a few rings, look at Amazon uk, winnerwell fast fold stove reviews, a pic there. Hope this helps.
Thanks for the advice! Why leave some play in the lines?
@@WildJohan it helps stop excessive tension from just one direction, when the wind is blowing in that direction, slightly loose and 2 lines of the 3 will be taking load. It is less likely to fold in high cross winds. Lonewolf902 does a great video on this. I do like all the lines and clips you used and will put a set together soon. Take care.
@@breakit46 Ah, that makes sense! Will try to find that video.

Nice trip ! Did you construct all the ebike by yourself or just you bought a bike and construct the frame and adapt solar panel? I'm really interested by your setup if you want to make a video for more details ;-)
Thanks Florent! I am the co-founder of Velove who produces these bikes. However, currently we do not sell them, we use all we produce in our own delivery service.
There's something i keep hearing a lot, and that's " Bring double the amount of wood you think you need, and then double that" , but there is a lot of truth in that. Great to see you out there doing it my friend, for some it can only be a dream. I found that Winter camping brings the lessons fast, and you appear to have a ton of motivation to get it to how you want to be in the woods. Thumbs up for keeping it real and honest. All the best to you! :)
Thanks Simon! Hope to get back at it soon!
This is great, love your channel, cheers Johan!
Thanks Jack!
