I wonder why G. Finzi didn't directly write these five Bagatelles for clarinet *and orchestra* instead of *piano* . To me, it seems much more interesting under this form... Since always, I find the 'Romance' so moving and attaching. (However a few more rehearsals would not have been useless.) ;-)
The piece is great and well played, but the destruction after it was not fun at all. Next time try to turn off the recording before cleaning the stage.

A very beautiful clarinet tone Bruce ...well done - I wish I could keep as cool as you - you seemed so relaxed playing this ....clearly the recording favours the strings a little too much but the clarinet does come thro and sounds great .......I'm teaching this to one of my students currently and there are not too many recordings of this piece. Heard the little baby call out just before the 3rd mvt started - sweet....
Thanks, Les. I suppose that part of keeping cool is lots of playing under adverse conditions! Thank you for the compliment on my sound, especially. The stage, unfortunately, has as immovable credenza right in front of where was standing, so I had to blow my brains out to get past it!
