Not accepting offers from Europe certainly is the biggest mistake. Going to the NCAA is not as good as many people think and joining the G-League is a nice short-term experience for Kai but because it is a guards league, there is no way he can further develop as he will be expected to have limited playing time and not many touches. The NBL stint is very nice, the Japan B-League is more like keeping himself active. Playing internationally for the national team is very nice for him and he can always go and accept offers from Europe now if there is or he has to. Kai is more ready and mature now for the competition there than he was years ago. The best way to be in the NBA is to continue to work in his game and not just dream about going there. There's always a perfect time for everything. Chet Holmgren is 7'1" 207 pounds, 22 yrs old; Nicola Jokic is 6'9" or 6'10" and 283.8 pounds, 29 yrs. old. Therefore, as Kai grows older and meets his target weight of 270 pounds BMI of 22, and borderline weight before obesity, he will be a powerhouse. His father Irvin Sotto is a retired basketball player, 6'7", and weighs almost 300 pounds due to inactivity, there is no doubt Kai will be a powerhouse soon. The team that will draft Kai will be an advantage for them.

LaMelo's probably the best product who came out of the NBL Next Star Program. Hornets' organization and roster is now obviously built around him and with his ludicrous 5-year contract extension, I don't see how anyone would compare him with any other players from the same program.

Kai's management under Joel Bell is leading him towards opportunities where they can make the most money out of Kai. And not really on what's good for Kai's quest to make it to the NBA. It's a good thing that he dumped Joel Bell for Wasserman. Kai is not overrated. He is just underutilized. Not getting enough minutes. Not being utilized for his real strength which is offensive game. Kai can score in bunches in a very short period of time. He is not a typical center that you utilize only for defense and rebounding purposes. He can be the focal point of the team's offense.

Just Imagine the pressure he faced as a teenager, Filipinos are very huge fans of Basketball and everyone expects so much from him at the start of his carreer, I believe he will still go far, but knowing filipinos mentality if Kai Sotto starts showing weakness or poor performance, he won't gain much support but ridicule
