Taking the tractor through town
Sometimes the action happens away from Milliron Family Farm. In this video, I got to take the pickup and follow the tractor for about a 50 mile round trip through the nearby towns. Can you guess why?

When one project becomes two
Переглядів 677 годин тому
It seems like there is always something breaking or needing fixed and it often seems to happen in the middle of working on something else here at Milliron Family Farm. Finding a leaky hydraulic hose in the middle of trying to get ramps on the semi trailer was just one of those things. Luckily, the tractor had done everything we needed it to so the trailer project could continue over the weekend...
Not all hay stacks the same
Переглядів 71714 годин тому
We do our best to plan around Mother Nature when we're cutting the hay here at Milliron Family Farm but she doesn't always play fair. Much like the first cutting, we got hit with a surprise rainstorm which added some complications but we did the best we could to minimize the damage. Will it be enough?
The new rake gets 4 thumbs up!
Переглядів 19219 годин тому
Sam and I were both a little nervous about using the new rake and how well it would work. We were both incredibly impressed! All the time Sam spent going through it and fixing the little things paid off. It sounded like he might widen the spacing of the arms for the next cutting but for this cutting it was a HUGE improvement over last time!
Mowing the 3rd cutting 2024
Переглядів 129День тому
I am awed and amazed how quickly the alfalfa has grown back. It is so thick and lush and we are already mowing for the 3rd time this year at Milliron Family Farm. There is something so relaxing and satisfying about watching the alfalfa get mowed and how pretty the field looks with all the hay laying in perfect rows. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do!
Fire Evacuation Level 2 "Get Set" Cutting Fire Breaks
Переглядів 403День тому
Depending on where you live, you may or may not have heard about the horrible wildfires that they are battling in Oregon right now. Milliron Family Farm is just on the edge of the current Level 2 evacuation area for the Durkee Fire which means "get set" or start making a plan to evacuate if needed. The majority of land around our house is irrigated and should be safe but the back portion of our...

Checking in on the animals at Milliron Family Farm. Plenty of cuteness from the kittens, pigs, dogs and see what the chickens are up to. Hope you enjoy as much as we do!
Pivot vs Shop and Rake set up
Переглядів 27614 днів тому
I think I've mentioned how close the big pivot gets to the shop before. In this video I do my best to show it. I didn't think about not being able to get close without getting wet. The tires squealing was a single car spinning out down the road, no one was hurt but the car had some damage (sorry I didn't get pictures of the car). And as best as we can tell, the rake is adjusted and ready to be ...
Going through the rake to get it ready for it's first use
Переглядів 25714 днів тому
Getting the rake to the farm was just the first step. We had to go through it and make sure it was field ready. This process took several days as we had to wait for parts and we got to do it all with triple digit temperatures, smokey air from surrounding wildfires, and unusually high humidity for this area. Thanks for joining along with Milliron Family Farm as we prepare our newest piece of equ...
The three hour tour of troubles before we could start our delivery
Переглядів 21121 день тому
What we thought was going to be a routine hay delivery trip turned into a bit of a hassle when we had a trailer tire blow. Luckily, Sam had just practiced fixing a tire on this same trailer (it was not the one that blew out this time). So after adding a few extra hours to our day and making a couple extra laps between the truck and the house, Milliron Family Farm hay delivery was complete!
Fixing a trailer tire without removing it
Переглядів 21121 день тому
A couple of weeks ago we had to have one of the semi tires fixed. This time it was the semi's trailer tire that needed fixed. Sam wanted to try a method he'd seen done at a tire shop. Follow along to see the process. Before he could get to that, he had to patch up one of the handlines. There are no shortage of projects at Milliron Family Farm, that's for sure!
Handlines, while useful are not handy
Переглядів 1921 день тому
We've shown you some of the ups and downs of our pivots here at Milliron Family Farm but that's not all we use. To help get water to the corners and the areas the pivots don't reach we have to set up handlines and while not the worst thing in the world to use, they are far from easy.
Our upcoming video schedule and Kittens
Переглядів 13628 днів тому
Milliron Family Farm is in waiting mode, waiting for the alfalfa to be ready for the next cutting, waiting for parts for our next project, so our videos will be going to a schedule of Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. Also, check out the curveball the kittens threw our way and my attempt at a toy for them.
Unexpected additions to the farm
Переглядів 44428 днів тому
Our animals are one of my favorite things here at Milliron Family Farm. We have some unexpected additions and I'm sure you'll fall in love with them just as quickly as I did. And it wouldn't be complete without appearances by our favorites.
Unloading the rake
Переглядів 191Місяць тому
It was everything the big blue tractor had to lift the rake but we got it off the trailer. I had to put the camera down for some of it but you can see the majority of what it took to get the newest piece of equipment on the ground here at Milliron Family Farm.

Sam the Fix It Man bought you an anniversary present🤗
@@BarbaraHartley-op8rt oh my gosh, I didn’t even think of that. He totally did!! ❤️
I didn’t put it in the comments because I didn’t know if it was equipment but I knew it was an auction
@@ryang2841 nice job son! You know us well!😄
Bolts don’t sweat lol quote of the year
@@ryang2841 Sam’s got some good ones😁
A stack, means to put something on top of something else ! The word came from the old days, when hay was piled up in a heap, with a "Pitch Fork". This was called a "Hayrick", or "Haystack". There you go. 🤪
@@truethought369 that makes total sense! Thanks for the information, I love it! 😁
Fascinating stuff. We hope you aren't affected by the fires. Stay safe!
@@Erick_Main thank you so much! Except for all the smoke, things seem to be calming down. 😀
What a huge difference over your other rake! And all it took to get it working properly was Fix It Sam.🤗
I agree, it's so much better! Fix it Sam and some redneck ingenuity which we also seem to have plenty of around here, thankfully.
41 seconds new record
Nice job Son! :-)
Thank you for the update, we used to have a place just north of Jacobson on Hyline, I'm watching the maps and worried about friends and family all along the slope! Thank you!
@@BreanneStoneman praying that all your friends and family stay safe!
Praying you stay safe! And that the 70 mph winds predicted for today are accompanied by lots of rain.
@@BarbaraHartley-op8rt we want rain all around us, just not right on us until the hay gets baled and off the field.🤞
Hello from Elkton VA thanks for the video 😊
@@glennsimmons4199 hello! Thank you so much for watching! We really appreciate it!
I don’t like it when Sam says “Oh No”!😂 And that’s why you can buy things that aren’t working. Fix it Sam can fix anything! I can’t wait to see the rake do its thing!!❤❤
@@BarbaraHartley-op8rt he is amazing!! 😁 I’m super excited to try it out. ❤️
terribel filming
@@user-se4wd4cm1e thank you for your comments. I agree, I definitely have room to improve and will keep practicing. 😀
You two are amazing! But did the tire get to pressure or did Sam have to take it off? I'm learning so much🤗
@@BarbaraHartley-op8rt we had to wait awhile for the compressor to kick on again but he was able to get enough pressure. It’s the trailer we’re taking to deliver hay with today. I’m glad you like it, I always learn a lot too. ❤️
Beautiful country!!
@@mikerobertson2993 we definitely think so! 😁
kitty :)
Too cute!! That's a nice RV. I need to come see it!😂
@@BarbaraHartley-op8rt yes it is! And yes you do!! 😂❤️
I’m so jealous of how loud dad’s turbos are, you could totally hear them screaming on the drive.
@@ryang2841 yeah, the truck had to work a little to get the rake home. 😂
Couldn’t you have bought bags of skittles or Kit Kats or any candy in red bags?😅
We looked for big bags of all of those. We almost got peanut butter m&ms but the marshmallow mateys were a bigger bag. Plus, we had breakfast this morning ready for us. 😂
Happy 4th of July everyone 🎆🎇🧨
@@BarbaraHartley-op8rt Happy 4th of July!! ❤️
I am learning so much! And I grew up on a ranch❤
@@BarbaraHartley-op8rt Well, there is the part where we have no idea what we’re doing so we could quite possibly be doing it all wrong. 🤣
Is this Utah?
No, we’re in Eastern Oregon.
Hello Milliron Family. Do you have 20,000 subs or is it 20? If 20 then I am very pleased to be your 21st subscriber. John from Adelaide, Australia.
Hi John, welcome to our channel! We are so excited to have you as our 21st subscriber as well! We just started putting up videos last month.
Nice job!! Love the hay house❤️
Thank you so much! ❤
I’m sure dad knows this, cause he knows all the tricks. But in case he doesn’t I learned this at work the other day. When installing o rings, put a dollop of grease on them and they will hold themselves in
I’ll let him know. Thanks for passing on the info.
Is the DMZ the section between the pigs electric fences?
Yep. There’s one in the pen and one in the field.
Interesting! And super happy everything works 🎉 Seriously “Sam the fix it Man” needs to post how to videos on utube! He’s easy to understand and could help a lot of people 🥰🥰
I’ll keep working on getting him to do more. He isn’t a huge fan of talking and explaining what he’s doing but I think he does a great job. 😂
Well said❤❤ Let’s start planning your garden for next year
Thank you! Yes please! I have some ideas but would love your help!❤❤
Yes it is! 😂
I’ve been on that road to Weiser. Happens when you miss the exit to your house and keep going on the freeway😂
Look at you doing math🥰 Fun seeing your road trips❤
Sadly, it took waaayyy longer than it should have. I'm going to use the excuse that it was the end of the day and my brain was tired. Or, it's summer break and I shouldn't have to do math!!😂
I want a video when you tell your students what you did during your summer vacation😂
They’re all country kids they probably all did the same or more. 😂
You two can make a competition out of anything 😅 I love you❤
Pretty much. It's all out of fun, unless I lose. :-) Love you too!
If you ain’t cheating you ain’t trying
Funny son!
Adorable! And thanks for not showing us all the snakes 😂
I was sure I'd replied to this so I'm sorry for the delay. We've only seen 3 or 4 snakes so far this year. We did have a baby one in the house the other day. I told Sam we should burn the house down but he just put it back in the field. :-)
So Cute. Animals are always my favorite part too 🥰
I'm sure I'll be posting lots! We're hoping to add cows soon too!

You win! :-)
