It worked, finally after 2 plus years of removing roof rack and interior molding my Murano is bone dry. The flowable silicone worked. Sat outside for three days of heavy rain. No I can fill in the two small holes I put in the spare area. LOL.

Thank you for this. I have been struggling for a year to find a leak that comes into the car near the rear seat release knobs. I even drilled two 1/16 holes under the spare to allow the water to drain. Next going to look at the cracks

I have a leak on the rear left of my 2009 Murano, and we actually did trace it back to the roof rail. The problem is that I don't want to damage that roof rail end cap while removing it. Can you offer any advice about what direction to pry so that I don't break the retaining clips? I've read that some models require you to loosen bolts from under the headliner first, but I'd rather not remove the headliner if possible just because it seems difficult.

i had a same issue with my Nissan leaf same crack on both side. what a shame for nissan as a car company how can they make a car that leaks water from the roof. talk about untested and badly engineered product.

Thanks a lot from Pittsburgh PA for posting this video! We had a leak in the back of our Murano similar to yours. I followed your advice and looked at the seams, then pulled the ceiling down like you did -- only to discover that a bolt had fallen from one of the top hinges connecting the liftgate to the roof! This created a small gap on the roof right in the channel for draining rainwater. I used a 13mm wrench to secure the bolt, tightened the other bolt, and then applied the Permatex silicone you had used to where the hatch meets the roof just for good measure. Poured a bunch of water into the channel (with the liftgate down, since I think when it was up its weight pushed down enough on the hinge to force that gap closed), and no leak anymore! I wouldn't have figured this out without your help, so thanks again so much!

Thank you for this video. I have a 2011 Murano this started this weekend I’m heavy rains in the right side. I applied the silicone a few hours before it rained and it still leaked. Do I need to seal the rubber sticker around the hole ? The water still came from There?

Funny, I was about to start pulling off the roofrack mounts on my '09 and I noticed a green alge bloom around THAT seam on the right side. I thought that I should google it before I start a new project and here I am! I couldn't find any standing water but now that it's getting colder, there is condensation on all of the windows - on the inside of the car!

I have a 2018 Nissan Murano, do you think your fix would work for my vehicle? My leak actually runs down the side walls of the trunk, both left and right side.

You are the man-you saved me from pulling apart the side covers- my leak filled up the spare tire basin and ran down to the rear floors not to mention the rear mats- thanks a lot you saved a lot of people money from greedy dealers

Dude I watched your video about a year ago and you were absolutely right, the leak was right around the hinges so I end up using a black duck tape since that my car is black. Since then nobody even notice those tapes and I never had leak anymore. Thanks a lot from Michigan

I thought the leak only occurred when I went through certain car washes and that I was losing my mind b/c I smelled a faint mildew smell when I dared not have the A/C cranked. Already living in a condo with a leaky roof and a boyfriend who thinks I'm insane every time I walk in and announce "I smell mold!!", I was sure that I was having olfactory flashbacks or something when I smelled mold in my vehicle, too. So I've been driving around in a dirty Mo, freezing, and wondering if there's a treatment for my nose-psychosis. Tropical Storm Elsa just passed over So Flo and the mysterious "minor" leak has graduated to "Houston may have a problem, but you have a flood." I'll be attempting silicone fix and headliner cleaning this weekend. Fingers crossed. p,s, Daughter of a retired firefighter, here; thank you for your other services as well.

same year murano, same problem. i removed all the seam sealer from the joints and refilled with silicone. did this in june when temp was in the 80's. it's been through many a thunderstorm since and completely dry....HOWEVER, drove it to work this afternoon (while it was and had been raining all day) and much to my dismay, that spot is wet again. all i can figure at this point is that the temperature change has caused the silicone to contract???? low to mid 40's currently here in northwestern pa. To those of you who are having the same issue, good luck.

Thank you for sharing the video. I have a Nissan Frontier I took it to the dealer while the vehicle was under warranty and they replaced the rear glass twice. The problem stopped for a little while and right when was out of warranty every time it rains I have to put a towel under the back seat. I’ve been trying to figure out where the water is coming from but I don’t know. The product that you showed in the video might help. Could you please send me the information about it. Thank you.

Man i thought I was the only one having this problem good to know you were able to get it fix i recently did the same thing as you did just today hopefully it fixes my problem as well. I was thinking of getting a new weather strip from the dealer thinking it was the problem that rubber part cost $300 im like hell no!
