I have a kit and a plan for everything I can conceive of and two back up plans for them each. I have a kit for every member of my family for Urban, suburban, wilderness, bug in, bug out I.N.C.H., Car, house, and cache I have been doing this for thirty years. I do not mean to sound arrogant or a like a know it all. The only thing I do not have is a awake, and willing community of prepper people to roll with. Everyone I know has their head up their anal orifice staring at a fecken screen all day. So I keep my damn mouth shut. Sadly that is just the way it is.

And make sure to get work/ hiking / construction socks because if you dont your feet will take a beating after the first day or 2 when you get athletes foot those cracks between your toes that open skin up as well as blisters on your feet. Take it from my xp.

Have you seen the bump keys on Amazon? Much easier than the kit you show...

My flat bar is 24" and it barely fits in my bag. The fencing pliers can also be used to hammer the flat bar into a tight space. I like a longer one to keep my knuckles away from the sharp stuff. The 24" length can also dig a better hole than a shorter one. If I need to heat one end, it's long enough to have a "handle end" that's stays cool enough to touch. Remember to disinfect the water from a building, filter if possible. No telling how long that water has been sitting in the pipe. My bag has a Sawyer filter straw in it and purification tablets. (which I need to replace in December). Also a 16 oz stainless steel water bottle and fire starting materials. All stuffed into a water tight plastic creatine supplement container. Love the lock pick idea. My bag has a small tool kit inside. I know, a little more weight, but better than a multi-tool. Since a long walk home includes both urban and rural for me, I have a Cold Steel Bowie machete and Morakniv w/sharpening puck. A file is in my tool kit to touch up any metal burrs.
