It helps reduce stress, promote relaxation, and even improve sleep quality. Welcome to ASMR Outer Space, where I’ve crafted a unique, ambient sleep track using soothing noise synthesis to help you relax and drift into deep sleep. For many, certain “mechanical” sounds-like the gentle hum of airplane engines, vacuums, or fans-trigger a sense of calm and comfort. This taps into ASMR (Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response), a phenomenon where specific sounds or sensations c...

Hollow | A Journey into Indian Mysticism through Sound
I learned so much from these magazines.
More please :))
After all these years, I still use some of the free plugins I acquired through Computer Music magazine even today!
While we see massive changes in the music industry at an accelerated pace there are a couple of things that have not changed: People love listening to music, even more though if it is performed live. Even AI cannot substitute creativity. People are more empowered to make music than they ever were. Art is not necessary to survive, so it never was easy to make money with art. Any kind of art as sole source of income always was a gamble. Nobody is fighting over making music, but over who is making money with music. The limiting factor changed from 'who owns the studios' to 'who owns the distribution platforms'. Overall I am happy that my creativity is no limited by access to technology anymore. If my productions don't sound good, it is me and not my equipment ;-)
Thank you for your take. It's also about the community. AI can't take that away!
still have the sample libraries …
i didnt find those samples on those cds in the 90s to be very good to be honest
love it!
Is there a resource where all the samples, videos, tutorials etc. are hosted? Should there be?
Spent my 20’s loving Future Music. I sampled a lot of the CD’s that came from them
I remember Dominator vsti. Super quality!
Gr8 catch up, now I know where and when it began.!❤ I’ve still got all my mags based on Music and apparatus and the CDs that came with’em.
I can't believe it happened! I remember buying Amiga Format and was heartbroken when every one Amiga magazine shuts down. I remember looking for printed copies each month with less and less pages... When Amiga Format shuts down I was jealous watching Computer & Future Music going on... I never imagined there will be the end...!?
ZX Spectrum zines still exist.
Shout out to the WINMX crew
In the 90s this was never imported in my country (Eastern Europe). I was 100% into Scream Tracker III and later Impulse Tracker II, finished with Jeskola Buzz before giving up on software. Nowadays I prefer 100% hardware setup.
So i just got one mot knowing what it was...... presently surprised
Ahhhhhhhhhh! This explains why I couldn't get a copy of either recently ...
It was part of my life for many many years to go my favourite bookstore at the beginning of each month to buy FM and CM and KM. Good times but things change
Like to read one of the magazines, search issuu for future music. 😉 There are still hidden gems on music production to be found there.
Great vibe. You're correct, we need peace on this planet.
Ah this sucks :(
They said the future would be great 😮 I have hundreds of copies shout me if you’re looking for a specific copy. Thank you future publishing.
Cool! Thank you for offering this to the community!
Love it. Keep going!
Sad to hear about future music & music tech. Brilliant magazine’s I used to buy them nearly every month & regularly checked their used vintage instruments advertising. 😢
Brilliant video. I am that old. I started out reading "Electronics & Music Maker." Every copy had a cassette of the reader's music on it. I played the cassettes in the car and would deliberately take the longer routes they were very inspiring.
Ah well fuck em. If those snowflakes want to kill themselves under the delusion of profit let them go ahead. And quite frankly i'll be happy not to be tempted by an overpriced synthtrader catalogue nect time i'm in WH SMiths. .
Many people criticizing expect this equipment to cost half as much when they are used to seeing worse things for the same price.
I ran a BBS (Bulletin board service) in the 80s focused on computer music .. mostly focused on Atari / Cubase (which I was a betatester of) .. I was also a military coder from where I sent a few tracks of mine into space 🙂
lol any time I hear some old timer mention BBS’s they’re always some kind of genius.
Funny to run into this. I still have many many issues. This is how i learned in the beginning, before the internet. Read the articles and then practice what you leaned. This was my music college.
My father was one of the first soldiers to set foot on land after the bomb dropped. He told stories of walking into a concrete building that was full of ash. They realized that the people in the area had gone into the building hoping it would offer some protection, but it basically turned into a crematorium, and the ash on the floor was from the people. He said it got so hot the glass on the windows melted and folded down onto the windowsill like ribbon candy. He stayed there for several years and even got a recognition letter from the Prime Minister before he left. By the time he left he was fluent in Japanese and seemed to have the respect of the locals.
Thank you for sharing your dad's story.
FM was a great magazine for me in the 90's , when I was creating music on a daily base. It is (as far as I know) not available in the Netherlands anymore. Sad anyway to hear it will shut down now.
Before the Internet I learned a lot of tech advice from Future Music and later was introduced to VST's.
Sad news - I used to collect them back in the 90s and might have some copies somewhere? Though I did get rid of a lot at one point.
I sent in loads of demos and remixes way back when, and made a lot of use of their cover CDs. I still have many of them buried in old boxes somewhere in the attic!
"...and were full of samples, reviews, interviews, demos..." and ADS. Pages and pages and PAGES of ADS 😅 (I actually loved the ads too) Loved Future Music but I eventually felt like I "grew-up" into SoundOnSound. I found it better written with more advanced techniques, though less focused on electronic music. Learned so much about the craft from all those publications! 🎛🔊🎹
ES and CM mag 1984. Loved it. Came with a tape.
Wow! Didn't even know about these 2 mags. So where is the community migrating too? Would love to participate.
Thank you so much. Love your insights and the stories 🌊✨🌊
Press Reader and a few other magazine apps that my local library has on offer have back catalogs available for FM and CM back to 2014. If you haven’t checked those out - have a look at your local library. I remember being lucky enough to get one of my tracks on FM CD back in like 2000 and then getting into a remix competition…when I discovered FM in 1997 at World’s Biggest Bookstore in Toronto, I felt like I stumbled on that secret thing…need to get onto MusicRadar to find some new samples :)
They were a great resource 🌘🔥
I heard about this and bought the last issues last week. Very sad.
that bad audio, and this is music fan?
I bought issue one of Future Music on my 30th birthday. Used to love the lists at the back which gave info on all the current gear.
Those magazines changed my life, back in the early 2000s it was the thing, I loved reading and Learning plus grabbing samples and free software, tutorials, guides… oh man what a shame.
Great video! A few years ago I was rummaging around a spare room looking for a box of CD submissions my small label received in the early 00s when I stumbled upon my collection of old CDs and DVDs from these magazines. In fact, my weird tune Pink Alien Skeletons, inspired by SETI and the record we sent in to space in the 1970s, was made exclusively from samples from the CDs I found. Well except for the "news" samples and the scratch. Again, great video!
The best samples ever with Future Music AND the tutorials Is awesome
online killed it all off
Thank everyone for all your amazing stories! This is my first video to hit 10K! I appreciate all of your feedback and I look forward to keeping the community engaged and productive!
Hopefully many more +10K views!
Future Music samples were like the dream! Gear wasn't affordable back then, and not easy to find at a dealer or even order. Those samples were for sure used in countless known tracks of the time, not just synth stuff but also vocals. It was also inspiring to see the real life struggles that top producers had with their gear, and how much that resonated on a much smaller scale with my bedroom studio production!
Bought First Edition & Used many samples. Got me into Digital via the ISIS motherboard running on a 486 using 98 Lite...the good old days with my x2 Casio FZ1 samplers. Still working 25yrs later....
Sad to hear but yes I still have and used a tonne of the stuff on the cd/dvds.
