Sounds great. The rosewood neck tone is much darker than the maple neck Strats.

I used to work for my older brother, in his Tallahassee, Florida music store. Somewhere around 1975, we got in a double PUP Johnny Smith ... I believe it was a special order for a customer. I got to play that guitar a time or two and found it to literally be the best guitar I have ever played and I've been playing 63 years plus. If you can afford this asking price and are in desire of an outstanding INSTRUMENT, buy this one. These are spectacular guitars with their hand-carved spruce tops and their mini-humbucking pickup(s) that do not touch the top. Warm and responsive and very inviting. And no ... I will not get a commission if you do! 🙂

This era and the '56 era are the two best Stratocasters in the entire production.

I purchased a new American Vintage II 61 Strat in Olympic White that I really dig. Obviously not the same but nevertheless a damn fine guitar. I love the clean tones of your playing, killer!!
