Pros and Cons of Living in Lexington, Kentucky
There is such a thing as too much diversity. When you throw a bunch of different people into one area there is always conflict. They can all "act" like they get along but being fake all the time would get old very fast. I live 25 minutes from Lexington out in the country on 12 acres and I have about 8 neighbors within a 1/2 mile radius. I avoid Lexington and Louisville except when passing through to go somewhere else. Out here we wave at each other on the road except for the ones commuting to Lex or Lou that were not raised right and dont see other drivers as human beings worth acknowledging. City folks seem a bit more dog eat dog and ready to rage. They will even fight over a parking place but I digress......
This video would be so much better if it had more B Roll from the areas you discuss. Thank you for the clear communication though. I’m excited to explore the possibilities with a visit to Lexington soon.
Yikes on bikes dude. You didn't use any footage of Lexington at all! Do you even live here?
Lex town baby
Any water sports in Lexington?
Not bad at all!! Really
What is the best family neighborhood close to Saint Joseph Hospital East? And is Lexington a welcoming community for new comers?
Left here for a western state after 35 years, Lexington is a god forsaken shit hole, Kentucky is a backwards cesspool. Nothing of virtue exists here.
im a crime lord and willing to interview about the crime status of lexington ky
Question for you all- Best Hotel in Lexington? Please do a video on hotels please!
Thank you for doing this series! I'm not a native Lexingtonian, but I got here as soon as I could!! I am a descendant of original Kentucky settlers and couldn't be more proud of my Appalachian heritage, and I LOVE LEXINGTON, and I love living right in the middle of downtown!!
You need a basketball coach…
How’s the goth scene there? What’s the crime rate? Am I safe walking to the local store at 2:30 in the morning? I’m in New York where these are things I think of 24/7 when scoping other cities.
I plan to move there in the next 5-8 years!
My wife will be done w/her PhD program at FSU in the near future and the University of Kentucky is at the top of her list for possible employment (Even though she is an undergrad alum from University of Tennessee!). Lexington sounds great to us! We're not too concerned w/Lexington being a college town since Tallahassee also has this in common. In fact, both cities have some similarities w/challenges and population size. Hopefully we will become residents of Lexington one day and appreciate your videos.
And I was voice texting so I wasn't able to correct my grammar
Thanks for the recommendations. I have to say though. Please. People don't ever order from DoorDash. They're literally like the worst company. And they should just be put out of busiyes top choice, grubhub. And then I guess Uber East, and it's Uber. Technically, Sense uber owns grubhub now. But grubhub has the best quality app for the employees, so just remember that.😊
Places and people who are preoccupied with "diversity" instigate civil unrest. Left to their own devices people will live where and with whom they want to. those who focus on race are the problem.
Is there a lot of work in Lexington?
I am from Lexington and I am Mexican and there is a lot of Mexicans by the alexandria area
The danger is being shot as a bystander or neighbor. Your chance of being involved in violent crime has increased and the areas of the crimes have become much less predictable.
My husband and I currently live in a 1 bedroom apt in Frankfort near the hospital which is good as my husband can walk to work at the hospital-only 5minutes away. We are considering moving to Lexington in the summertime. We would be looking for a 1 bedroom apt near the hospitals there. I am going to drive over to Lexington one Sunday to get a look at the area. Better on early Sunday morning with no traffic about. We moved down to Kentucky in 2021 from Albany, NY and so are still new. I would appreciate some apartment ideas that are near the hospitals. Thank you.
I'm just back from visiting Lexington. Richmond Road (near to downtown) and the streets coming off Richmond boast the most beautiful homes in the area hands down. Checking Zillow, they seem to range in price from around $850k to a couple million. They are comparable in appearance and quality to some of the vintage homes still standing in Beverly Hills. Stunning, pristine vintage homes. They have to be seen. As for hotel staying: I was going to stay in one of the downtown hotel properties, but after reading some reviews online, I was suspicious that nighttime sleep would be difficult. In fact, I was glad I stayed in the Hamburg area, though Hamburg is typical suburbia with every national food chain represented. Why? I found the reviews of hotels on Main Street downtown to be accurate. The street noise is insane and there really is unimpeded late night drag racing going on there. I'm surprised Lexington doesn't try to control that. It's a shame because the two newish downtown Marriott properties are beautiful and there will be some visitors who stay away from those downtown hotels because of the noise, which is, again, a shame. Most definitely, there were people shouting and screaming around the downtown bars. The UK campus, I would say, was impressive. Though not a frat guy myself, I have to say UK has some of the most beautiful frat houses I've seen around the country. When I was there, it was near 0 degrees, painfully cold, so I didn't get to do some of the outdoor things I might have otherwise done. The horse statues all around town are definitely a cool signature of the town. Your videos certainly helped me navigate the town. Thank you for that. I wish there was a regal historic hotel set in a nice neighborhood, but it seemed the couple of upmarket historic hotels were in the hard parts of downtown Lexington. I did think the lights going up the stairs at Rupp Arena late a night was very pretty and not to be missed. I'm surprised the Lexington local government has not done more for a city of its size (and the presence of UK) to offer incentives to airlines to bring in non-stop flights to hubs such as Newark Airport.
Aviation museum has an age limit kid has to be 6 no younger than that allowee
Wish ther was things for kids not teens only adults and teens
I lived in Detroit. Lexington's crime is... avoidable. Be alert. Be aware of your surroundings. Know the people's character you are hanging with. Stop your drunk friends from walking out into traffic at 1am downtown.
It is a small city
I’ve been wanting to come to Lexington and go on the stable tour but I got a find out if it’s open in January if anything is open in January, that’s the only chance I have to come
Is Joe Bolognas pizzeria still the best for pizza?
Oh you forgot the christmas shindig up at the horse park
yeah Lexington could use a bit of love on the LEXTRANS routes.. Being a heavily spoked wheel system, could be much better
I'm a native Houstonian who lived in Lexington and Georgetown for 5 years. I just recently went back for a visit. Absolutely stunning especially in Scott County during the month of November. I miss it so much that I'd like to retire there one day. Great video and Go Big Blue!
No one will tell you it's a college town but we all here love UK. What?
Perúvian Brasas food the Best
Jeffery Grimes Chicken on Georgetown Street ,
I love the way you share the positives and negatives you’re a really good person you can tell you were raised well.
You made a beautiful video! Wonderful voice. Yes Lexington is so beautiful you forgot to mention how absolutely kind and genuine Kentucky people are they are the absolute best people in the country!
The whole state of Kentucky screwed right now. We get all the wrong people running it.
Yeah don't go there too much crime
What areas and what crimes are you referring to?
Promo SM
Great video Logan!
I'm arriving from Brazil with my family in the next few months. is it easy to get rent in lex? And what is the average price for an apartment with two bedrooms? Thanks in advance!
Hey hey there! I’ve actually helped another family move to Lexington from Brazil! Rentals are competitive right now, but you should be able to secure something depending on what you all like. You’re probably looking in the ballpark of around $1200-$1500 a month for a two bedroom. Sometimes a little more, and sometimes a little less depending on where it’s at. Feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions, or would like any help!
bring a bunch of them hot girls with you .
Another great video!! Thanks!
You should make some videos showing off some of the beautiful areas around the bluegrass and lake house parts outside of Lexington to help people get a glimpse on what you like as a native to help people make a good decision when choosing between city , lake , or ranch style classics that helped build the bluegrass state
Let me see what I can do!
What about crime?
I’ve got a video coming out for you next week where we talk about that. No city is perfect, and we dive into it.
@@livininlex thank u
It's always funny to me when people talk wbout Kentucky's humidity. Kentucky isn't humid. Kentucky is the baseline by which all other States should be measured. Most of the South is too humid. Most of the West is too dry. I've experienced NorCal/Nevada Summers with no humidity. I've experienced Florida Summers with all of the humidity. Then there's Kentucky, right there in the middle. Give me that Kentucky Summer every day and twice on Sundays.
Bro! Get to the point!
What would you like to know?
Where’s your you tube video at post a link.
El rancho?😭😭 nah bro that’s mid, that was my high school date spot and idk there’s lots of better places in town
Great video as usual Logan.
Malones ? Jeff rubys? J Alexander's ? Tony's ? Giuseppe's? These are all better than what you listed.
