This is absolutely a horrible job for a weekend mechanic GMC for sure made it sure that this is a dealer service only no dip stick no normal filler hole talking about an F-ed up job
You can remove the 2 bolts without removing the bracket, just loosen all the bolts and wiggle the mounts and it fall out.
Is it possible to read min level one day after it was showing max?
@@gpansenegal8484you can read it any time.
It doesn’t even let me click on oil check does the car have to be off and honey closed or what
@@paulavieira577 I it has to be in on position, once all the warning light come and off and then you cycle through the ok potion until you get to service menu then and you chose the oil level.
Awesome! Thanks for the tip!
Those cars burn oil from what been reading. No dip stick is very stupid your trusting a senor.
Where is your place ?
My garage is in California
This is wrong fluid...
thanks for your help
What a knuckle head ! I seen a ignition button, but no key
Now just do the steps in changing the brakes
Great video as well thanks a lot
I've read 6.2 quarts including the filter. Amazing there's not manual dipstick!
Unfortunately the Europeans like to be different. They like the idea of no dipstick.
THIS IS ALMOST HOW TO DO IT! if you need to reset do this: Open hood Open drivers door Put into accessory mode or ignition (whatever you want to call it theres only one click for this car, i call it ignition) Press on the brake and gas pedal for about 20 seconds. I got tons of failure lights... or it will say reseting service, hold it till the reset finished. Start the car Run for 20 seconds, shut it off completely then start it up again ensuring all warning lights have gone away. I'll make a video how to do it properly!
Not that it matters but this is a 2017 or earlier. 2018 is the refreshed model.
gotta do batman tricks to change breaks smh lol. does this also apply to front brakes as well?
Haha funny. No, the front calliper pistons can be compressed in with any prybar or flat screwdriver.
Pretty common on new cars these days. The parking brake motors are built into the calipers. Better solution than a separate parking brake.
Do you need calibration afterward ?
No it doesn't work.😢
It's not clear what should be done.
You would have to watch part 1 first
I heard you have to lock the air bag suspension in order to lift it with floor jack. Is that true?
No You don’t have to
Did you still hold both down until service mode activated or you let go after the 2nd recycle?
Yes you press and hold until you hear the actuator releases.
You saved me with this video cos I almost took it to the dealership. Thank you 🫶🏾🙌🏿💪🏿
@@kwakuodeneho I’m glad I was able to help you.
Hey what is the use of doing service mode will it collapse pistons
You need to compress the pistons in to remove the pads and install new once. And because this vehicle is equipped with rear caliper actuators. That’s what It means to put the rear Breaks in the service mode. Normally you would have to use Land Rover scanner, but the purpose of this video is the bypass the scanner and to do it manually.
Oh sorry I meant to say Jaguar scanner. You can also use Land Rover scanner as well
How to reset service required on an 2011 xjl?
Unfortunately For 2011 you would need a scanner or a Device called dongle
what engine please?
2.5 L
Good video. My son’s Passat has a similar leak. Up it goes on my lift tomorrow
Let me know if you have any questions
Thanks for info I’m gonna try it
Will this work for 2015 jaguar XJL?
Unfortunately you would have to use a scanner to reset that. At this time I am in search of a way to bypass that and will post a video once I work on a 2015
How did u fix it ? I believe I’hv same issue
I replaced the transmission cooler. Be careful don’t purchase it from the dealership because it’s crazy expensive. But get it from Amazon and here is the link. Roll over image to zoom in A-Premium Automatic Transmission Oil Cooler Compatible with Volkswagen Jetta Passat Beetle Golf SportWagen 2015-2016 Golf 2015-2017 1.8L 2.5L Petrol
@@bethelmobile114 thank u . So , it does mean my car leak transmission oils instead engine oil , I’d supposed it comes from engine
@@carlosdgonzalez2858 a good way to know for sure is to clean it or to use air spray gun to blow away the residue, while the engine is running. If you see the leak is coming from the cooler, then just replace the cooler which comes with seals as well. Also that means your transmission fluid is also low, might as well just change the transmission filter, gusty, and Louis as I showed you in the next video. If you have any more questions let me know
The video stops at the importance part
Yes it did, but I made a second video, you might wanna check that out
So I made part 1 and part 2
Will this work on a 2011 Jaguar XJL?
No 2011 is a different method
Unfortunately no, you would have to use the scanner to reset the required maintenance. But I am in search of a way to bypass that and will post a video once I find out. Thanks for watching
@@bethelmobile114 found a way yet ?
@@boooshannon unfortunately no. What we used in the dealership was a divine called Dongle, which hooks up to the OBD II connector or we used a Jaguar scanner to reset it.
@@boooshannon no there is no way to do it. What we used in the dealership was a scanner, and also a little Device called dongle. I think if you stop by at any dealership they will clear it for you for free.
Hi. Is there a way to reset the "incorrect diesel exhaust fluid quality detected" message on the 2016 diesel Jaguar XE 2.0 ? It has a down counter and the engine won't start once it reaches zero. Thanks.
No unfortunately there isn’t any that I know of, The counter will give you a multiple warnings before the engine shuts off. I would highly recommend that you would add DEF fluid before you get the final warning.

Do you release the pedals before turning the ignition off?
No, you turn off the ignition first and then you release the pedals
@@bethelmobile114 how? the car will start if u push button one more time while holding brake pedal...
@@g-mailglongaviki4157 Hi, You turn on the ignition to an on position not start position without pressing the brake and gas peddles first and then press both Pedals together for 20 seconds.
