He uses a distortion effect on his microphone and does a very similar sound (even without the mic).

@rawrimaprick Either a distortion effect, lots of eq(equalization), or a combination of both! its sounds cool huh! I also think they have a wah pedal or a filter in the signal.

I guess you don't sing or maybe you just hate diversity in music... but really a "vocal only band" just sucks on principal according to you... that's cool but I bet Sting is not as musically close minded as you and would not share your anti-acapella sentiment... and as far as calling this joyful and incredibly skillful musical expression "gay" when you yourself are proly not that good...well as Towlie from South Park would say "You're a towel!"
