By TMEA standards, I wouldn’t say that this was the best rendition of the piece the ensemble could have done. Trombones and trumpets are sometimes missing partials on the higher register, the saxophones were good for the most part but there were some out of tune moments. It’s totally understandable to have some intonation struggles every now and then and it’s fine to sometimes miss the high notes but I feel like this doesn’t live up to the average TMEA standard. Just my personal thought. But if anyone has any more context behind this I’d like to know more. Sorry for typing such a long paragraph.
