June Sampson dances Zorba the Greek
Love the outfit, her hair and the go-go dancing!!
She was so cute.
Teddy Roderman on trombone, at that time, one of North America's finest trombonists. The busiest trombonist in Toronto for many years, aToronto Symphony, principle trombone, CBC Symphony, the same, first call for Toronto's thriving studio scene at that time- 50's through 70's.
Do you have anymore footage like this from this show? There seems to be no other info on the internet
I wish I did have more. It was lost in a storage unit in Barrie. Hope you enjoyed the show, it was fun to do.
Glorious.
Canadian music history gold.
Great artist and great friend of Alan Hamil and Suzanne Sommers! Rest In Peace beautiful lady! ✨️🕊✨️
I love her singing.
Not Rully-Howie Rae
Yep, I was there... It's Howie Rae
😊 I still think you're the best after all of these years
It's shocking to see such a young Ed Bickert, but even more so to see the Tele looking so new!! Thanks for sharing this, as it's an important part of history for all of us that love Ed Bickert's music.
My thought exactly. He was tasteful then, as always. Also the tele twang was there. I think here, he is using the muddle position in the pu as well.
Love this song
Kind of a cross between Dusty Springfield and Joey Heatherton. How have I never heard of her?
Is this Vanda Kings own channel? This is a beautiful song❤
she just like me lol. ;p
RIP.
Great playing, straight through, live!
I love Finian's Rainbow (and this lovely song)! You did a wonderful job with the video!
Interestingly enough Billy Van and Vanda King would appear together again in the 70s on the CHCH Show Party Game. Vanda on the visiting team and Billy of course of the home team with Jack Duffy and Dinah Christie.
Also Played with Maynard.
I'd never heard the song past 1:30 before. I've seen a version from THE LAWRENCE WELK SHOW that stops there but has dancing w/ costumed "animals" as well.
"this is all I ask" Frank Sinatra
Ok nice Lovely dance musically
I cannot find that beep sound at the end of the video. What effect is that.
Is it so wrong that I’m watching Ed Bickert on guitar more than Vandra
It's Ron your old buddy that made you miss up and by the way no one has ever been made Miss hope since then which means you still are the reigning miss ULP from that time anyway I'd love listening to your voice and I love watching your videos take care stay safe
awesome! :)
1968?
RIP Dear Bonnie
I saw Diamond Lil at the Skyline Hotel about 1975. My father was attending a music convention at the hotel and took in her performance. I was 14 years old and went into the venue that appeared to be a staged saloon, looking for my parents. My parents would not let me stay and I had to leave shortly after the show started. My father would have loved this, after viewing the video.
I remember The Diamond Cutters' Jazz Band Show from '70 or so that starred Vanda King. Great Canadian talent.
Billy Van was also a succesful singer n had a great chorus, the Billy Van Singers.
We met Mr Van during the 70s. Very nice gentleman. I loved Nightcap.
It's Ron I really enjoyed this medley Vanda thank you
In 1958 at our high school fraternity record hop I crowned then the King missile 1958 wonder if she remembers that
Just want everybody to know that a 1958 at a record hop I crowned Vanda King the lady of our fraternity Miss hope I had the pleasure of doing that I wonder she would remember that today
Hi R Charles....I don’t remember it, but Thank You! Vanda
@@DBsTreasure bandit was a heck of a long time ago I did meet you once at the skylawn when you were singing but the night that you sang Randy was at our fraternity dance and I did cry on you with a banner and it was Miss ulp missile I've never forgotten about it thank you for responding and I hope that you are staying safe and everything is well
@@DBsTreasure I'll just mention that the dance that you came to was in Hamilton and you came with another group of singers I think they were called the Lincoln air so I'm not sure I was only 18 at the time and it was arranged through your agent in Toronto if I remember correctly it's a long time ago anyway again thank you so much for responding I have never forgotten that that night it was a highlight
@@DBsTreasure I know I'm gabbing away but the area I live I live just between almost Kingston if you will I am a drummer in a country rock and roll band and I run on the weekends I've been running a musical trivia quiz and one of the questions was your song Randy and because I remember it and that's how this whole thing started anyway I've been rambling thanks again for responding to me it's been a real thrill
Was watching him on old Bizarre episodes!
Cool Video! Great Voice! Does anyone knows, when it was recorded?
Sweet Charity was a popular Broadway play in 1966. I would assume this clip was recorded that year.
@@CityGirlCountry Dear Irene, thank a lot! Vanda had an outstanding voice and a great presence, she was so much better than a lot of men at that time - thanks again!
I like their choice of closing theme music: "Too Late Now"
Very 1960's.
I'm surprised cbc didn't cut off Guido at the waist!
Ann Margret also did a version of this song.
Al Hamel, at the beginning of the video, is Suzanne Somers husband.
Al Hamel has been married to Suzanne Somers for many years.... great old footage!
Bravo
Pretty damned good on trumpet I'd say!
I prefer Bobby Darin's rendition, but still very nicely done. thanks for posting.
a beautiful voice with the most intriguing vibrato....and a scrumptious treat for the ear...... but this song and my heart belong to Eydie....RIP
Yep....a treat for the eye as well
arranjo fantastico
That's really amazing I royally love those dance moves
