what will be current rating and size of the battary ? does it recharable ?
Hi @SatyaSai-TCPL, thanks for the questions! The current rating is unknown. The size of the battery after folding it in half and laminating it together is ~85 mm x 90 mm with a thickness of 0.75 mm. And unfortunately it is not rechargeable. Hope this helps!
Do i need one? no, but do i need one? YES.
Cool!
Where can we get the electrical insulation ink?
Hi @frederickmak1, thanks for the question. We offer an insulator ink on our store: store.voltera.io/products/aci-ss1109-2ml-cartridge-copy?_pos=7&_fid=bb86ae1ba&_ss=c.
Hmm the vias should be reworked maybe you can push the paste through and let it harden. Otherwise with these press in things you are limited by the size.
Hi @platin2148, interesting idea! We'll have to try it out.
your link in the description gives back a 404... the real url has no /products/ in it....
Hi @CryogenicRig, thanks so much for flagging that! The link in the description has been updated.
how does it make the vias it drills conductive ?
Hi @euancockburn5776, thanks for the question! The V-One drills holes for vias, and then rivets must be inserted manually to complete the vias.
If you're going to hand-place the components, why bother with the fancy paste dispenser? Just use a stencil and have that done in 15 seconds.
Hi @lmamakos, thanks for the question! V-One is designed to help you create multiple iterations of a PCB in a single day, usually for R&D and educational purposes. Once you've locked down a design, a stencil, as you mentioned, is quickest for bulk printing.
Can it do 0.2mm bga?
For the sake of what, saving $5 on a stencil?
@@MSM5500but I like doing it the harder and expensive way. Imagine a $100 NE555 pulse generator. Cool isnt it?
Could you do one like this that scans the board on top without components and then places this paste soldering solution in a precise and economical way?
Hi @bzmgames1308, thanks for the suggestion! We'll keep it in mind. For now, feel free to check out other videos on our channel featuring V-One
Good job how much it?
Thanks! V-One is currently on sale for $3,699.99 USD until the end of January. You can purchase it here: store.voltera.io/products/v-one
Nice
Glad you enjoyed it!
This looks AWESOME!! What kind of process even is this?
Thanks for your kind words @Intech1200!💚 This printing method is called direct ink writing. If you're curious about the details of this project specifically, we documented it in this white paper: www.voltera.io/application-whitepapers/printing-magnesium-zinc-battery-saral-inks-pet
How does this compare to something like the Wegstr PCB machine for prototyping use? I know it's a CNC, and the v-one is a printer - but ultimately if you are creating boards and iterating the design quickly then both methods are valid. Just looking for a steer on the advantages of the V-one
Hi @markhesketh6699! Thanks for the question. You're right - both machines can create PCBs relatively quickly, but there are a couple key differences. V-One has the additional feature of being able to dispense solder paste and has a heated bed for reflow, giving it more functionality for PCB prototyping, whereas the CNC Wegstr can only do milling. Prototyping with V-One will be quicker since there are less steps than a milling process. And since V-One uses additive manufacturing, you can wipe away any print iterations you don't want to use and start fresh on the same board. With milling, you'd likely need to use a new board for each iteration, which adds up the more iterations you need to do. If you have any further questions or want to discuss your specific application, don't hesitate to reach out to sales@voltera.io. Hope this helps!
What is the fabric?
Hi @imrphysicist6265, the fabric is cotton
@voltera_io what type exactly
@@imrphysicist6265 It was standard cotton quilting fabric. Hope that helps!
hello... can you tell me which software can we use to design circuit. like Proteus, eagle so that i can generate Gerber files open source software. because i want do a pcb design and we have voltera v1 pcb printer in our clg. please provide the input so that i can start. thank you in advance.
Hello @AishwaryaBMudennavar-t9u! Our team often uses KiCad. Hope this helps!
What is the substrate you are using. I see you are removing a thin layer after printing. What is that?
Hi @imrphysicist6265! The substrate is TPU, and in the step you mentioned, we removed the TPU from the carrier that we left on for the printing steps. The TPU can be found on our store: store.voltera.io/products/intexar-tpu-5-sheets?_pos=1&_sid=1916b7123&_ss=r
came for the video, stayed for the music
Does this machine need a wireless connection to function or can it work solely on wired?
Hi @sampugh6404, NOVA can work with an ethernet connection (does not need a wireless connection). Feel free to reach out if you have any further questions!
Hi, Which ink are you using and specifications for printing?
Hi @imrphysicist6265, we used ACI Materials’ SS1109 stretchable silver ink. Our specifications for printing on NOVA were: Dispense = 5080 and Relief = 5030 (although the material was already calibrated in our materials library on NOVA's software). Let us know if you have any further questions!
Is it possible to do pdms printing with voltera? Any thoughts
Hi@@imrphysicist6265, it is possible to do PDMS printing with NOVA, however we would recommend contacting our Technical Representatives to make sure the materials you have in mind fit NOVA's specifications. You can contact them via sales@voltera.io.

How did you design the the pattern, using which software?? and are there any specific requirements for checking a design's usability through simulation software?
Hi @neginfi3649! The design of the pattern was inspired by this research paper: pubs.aip.org/aip/apr/article/10/4/041408/2919081/Dry-electrode-geometry-optimization-for-wearable. We used KiCad to design the electrode.
You can see the white paper for this project on our website: www.voltera.io/application-whitepapers/printing-ecg-electrodes-biocompatible-gold-ink-tpu
pls help me how to trouble shoot my voltera V1, carriage assembly were on the downward position i cannot mount either the probe assembly or the cartridge assembly.
Please reach out to support@voltera.io.
what are the causes of air bubbles in soldering paste?
It could be due to a variety of things, including a bad batch of material, too much moisture, or improper storage of the material. It's important to follow the storage and handling recommendations found on the material's technical data sheet.
I had the one, it was not a finished product. And Nova looks similar but with big price tag 5k to 70k.
Sorry to hear you experienced issues with your V-One. Have you reached out to our support department at all? You can reach them at support@voltera.io. That is not the correct price for NOVA - the machine is not that expensive. If you'd like to build a quote, we would be happy to help. Just reach out to sales@voltera.io."

Hi, could you make a video showing how the Nova can be used to dispense solder paste on a high density PCB? Would it be reliable for dispensing on SMT pads with pitches down to 0.35 mm? I am interested in using the Nova to replace our solder paste stenciling process and circumvent the need for purchasing a solder paste stencil for every new PCB that I order.

You are just a little too delicious. Had to watch 3 times so I could focus on material ❤
May I ask what you dropped on the hot-pressed protective layer of TPU, and what is its function? How do you make the TPU drawing layer adhere to the sticker? Why isn't the heat lamination layer bonded to the sticker?
We're not too sure. This research was conducted by Yoland El-Hajj at York University in Toronto. She did detail some of her process in her research papers: www.researchgate.net/publication/361717600_Inkjet_and_Extrusion_Printed_Silver_Biomedical_Tattoo_Electrodes and yorkspace.library.yorku.ca/server/api/core/bitstreams/77423903-d210-46d3-9387-bdec086bd6cb/content

This is not a CNC machine. It is an extrusion-based direct-ink-write system. It is for companies that are rapidly iterating and prototyping numerous PCB designs each day. If you are only making one PCB and can wait to receive it in the mail, then V-one might not be the best option for you.
Do that stickers work on the Diabetes?
This particular project wasn't for glucose monitoring, but there are many different biomedical applications for technology like this.
We should do a project together maybe tie it into a light transmissive vinyl technology could be cool
Sounds interesting! Please send an email to applications@voltera.io!

whats the program name for reading inputs?
The graphing program used is MegunoLink.
The conductive paint must have limitations. Can the machine make a soldered trace?
The V-One can print conductive pastes in the screen printable (higher viscosity) range. It can also print solder paste.
