Some models had a black water incinerator. Once the exhaust system reached a high enough temperature and highway speed it would inject a small stream of macerated black water into the exhaust right after the exhaust manifolds. When it worked it was great but they were problematic and no one wanted to work on it. I never wanted to follow one of those after learning that. 😮

This has become more about bragging rights how much your rig cost than having a good time. People who pay this much have more money than they have sense.

Innovative but expensive

The tan one in the opening shot (with the for sale signs & Ohio tags) as well as the interior shots is MINE- I have owned her for almost two years now, and she is my house for the moment... I sold my old house, and bought her to travel in to see where I want to relocate to... The green(originally gold!) carpet has been replaced, brakes upgraded to 6 wheel disks (including disc mounted parking brake instead of electric parking brake which is a BAD idea, and potentially illegal); single each-side air suspension upgraded to Quad Bags(which came in VERY handy a couple weeks back when I had a pump failure, and had to refill them using the tire pump) just finished replacing the airbag pump setup, lines, etc, and she is now a bit more bulletproof... I have cleaned her up inside and out (all that disgusting gunk in the water fill and fuel fill compartments is now gone) I also removed the rear seats, and built a box frame under the full time bed to add storage space- something definitely lacking in the Eleganza II without a roof box. Rebuilt the storage bins(cupoards) and added many other small tricks and improvements, but kept the main feel of the original coach... I must say after two years, she is still quite liveable- even in 9 degree(currently) weather, the 30,000 BTU furnace does a good job, however you can feel the cold off the windows, and these are not the best sealed units ever- at least not after 48 years... As to driving, it is a pleasure! Handles like a large sports car! Visibility unmatched, and she corners very well- and can park in pretty much any parking space without too much overhang! My only complaint is that the waste tank must be emptied every 3 or 4 days(depending on how often I shower- usually daily as I still work) as there is only ONE tank in this model, 40 gallons, so grey water and black water both are stored together, making for a faster fill.. My plan is to split the grey water drains, and add a divert valve for when I am in a place which allows grey water release. I also have to figure a way to keep the blackwater drain valves from freezing closed in this weather... Getting under with an electric heat gun is annoying! Refrigerator and stove are original, but I had to replace the faucets in the bathroom(wetbath) and kitchen sink: I also installed an actual plumbed shower setup using a Turbo shower head which works marvelously with the water pump pressure... All in all, the 78 GMC Eleganza II is a unique and marvelous vehicle and home- I cant wait to get another house, but I know the RV will stay with me for travelling! As to costs, I think I have around $28k invested in her now, with the initial $14,500 purchase plus all the upgrades... Fuel fill is about $125-$150 (50 gals. or so) and she gets around 10MPG or so- but I have never done a detailed check- it scares me... lol... Love my EM-50 Urban Assault Vehicle motorhome!

Nice one really Very beautiful, I liked it, but the opening that takes you to the roof should be from the back, not the front, and the windows should be exactly the required width, but the long one should be a little shorter.
