This is lowkey really good but im using winch and rope
We dont have those green things in the cataplut mechanism so we just replaced it with a small gear and 3×3 thingy

we've seen lots of people do that but we wanted to share this cool idea. it also might be lighter, won't get in the way, and can go to any length

we're using a choo-choo right now, but the herobot uses the winch- this fix works for either b/c it's about the source of tension

x drive isnt that good, its better to use 4m standard drive for speed, or use it on fw for sniper, or pto for both.
we have 4m drive now, but find it hard to take advantage of all the speed

bro I need to add that to the winch for the rapid relay that motor takes 15 hours just to pull back down (im planning to take the frame of the rapid relay frame and redesign the ball system making it so it can throw 2 balls at once.)
wait how do you relock the ratchet
manually. just used once per match. Lots of ways to unlock- gravity gear, pneumatic, bar on another system hitting pawl. Or other ways of locking besides ratchet. Even run it under your wheel

What happened to choo choo mech
It died after the backroller became meta. The backroller uses this mechanism and uses a… well backroller. Just look up vids of “back roller vex iq”

That’s quite simply not a rule…
U could also use it as a catapult with locking mechanism and a shooting mechanism for high goal. Low goal dump and high goal catapult
just use the cata as a ramp
we’re also testing this but try to mostly brainstorm a lot of mechanisms for the first few months

how do you code the motors on the four motor settup for the drive train?
we are going to post code but there’s lots of good tutorials out there for VRC- search holonomic drive
how r u gonna score after the match preloads?
The idea is you only have to score high once (or max twice) so you can make low scoring a lot faster/easier- mechs for that coming soon
Or their partners could pass the ball to them. But then skills exist

@@CJRRobotics oh so then what’s the point really though especially at that point if your doing x drive I would do a 2 m intake cata PTO
@@madisoglrobotics we think with 2m & 2 ball lipper-style low scoring (pto intake to scoring) you can score faster than with cata. and our adjustable flywheels aren’t even close to high goal

I think u should u use a higher gear ratio or pto and have 4 to 1 gear ratio
By worlds we had 4:1 and an okay pto- but we didn’t know how to do this back then!
bro this year they actually have a decent bot for herobot. in slapshot and full volume the bots couldnt do much

How is the catapult motor built?
There's an axle from 2 motors running through 36 tooth gears attached to another set of 36 tooth gears by a 3x beam. The spool is on another axle with gears that spins freely. When the motors spin one way, the gear arm pivots down and then spins the spool. When it spins the other way, it releases from the spool and the spool unwinds.
@@CJRRobotics yeah. I see that. Have done the wheels and axles. It spins the spool. But i couldn’t make the ratchet work to hild the catapult. Can send pics of how the ratchet is made?
how did you build it without the instructions?
We just looked at the reveal video, especially the end where it shows the parts. The catapult mechanism is the most tricky part!
Full instructions are supposed to be out by end of this week.
