Did that exact walk last month. Lovely crisp weather. Had lunch at that waterfall at near end of the video. Sat for an hour soaking up the sun. Into the Swan inn on the main road after for a few pints. Good clip, could have done with some commentary though.
@StephenOverthrow thanks for the comment, I'm jealous that you had good weather 🥹 😁 As for the commentary, It's a confidence thing, I'm still not 100% confident about talking on the video's, friends and family have also mentioned I need to talk more 😮💨
I’d have preferred to hear the wind and the sea, rather than that poxy racket.
@@hazelanderson1479 😲
Loved it. Great music too ! Went there in 73 with dad. Back then the chimney was more enclosed like a rock tube. I slid down 6 feet on my behind. Went back in 95. Much more eroded and open. Also did NW ridge of Catstycam then Swirral. Sharp Edge on Blencathra good too but I never tried Crib Goch which is worse I'm told. Too old and health issues now but videos like this bring back happy memories so thank you. 🙏
Hi @jeffnewton4103, good to hear it brings back happy memories, to be honest, I had not done Striding Edge for over 30 years and when I did do for the video, I completely forgot about the chimney. As Jo had never done it before I was more concerned about getting her down safely. But she managed it and really enjoyed the day 😁
Nice vid. thx for sharing.
Hi, thanks for watching. If there is one thing to take away from the video its this, just because it's nice and sunny in the valley, it does not mean it will be at the summit as the video showed. You need to make sure you have the correct clothing and gear 😃
@@intuthegreatoutdoors Scotland.. ;-) But I was lucky on my hike up to Ben Vrackie this May. Sunshine, just a bit Windy :)
Well done chap. The bad step wasn't too bad after all was it? Been over it many times, bit tricky in damp and icy conditions. Best route back down into the Langdale valley is down Hell gill, lovely waterfalls, pools and ravines on the way down.
Hi @StephenOverthrow, thanks for watching, not bad at all, I remember when I was much younger it seemed a lot easier and I flew up 😅just don't have the suppleness in the joints anymore 😢but still enjoy getting out and enjoying the outdoors 😁
@intuthegreatoutdoors Yeah, me too. At 64, the muscles certainly take some warming up! Once on the go, that's it for me for the next 8-9 hours. Up there in 2 weeks on our lads winter walking week. Cheers, Ozzy.
@StephenOverthrow enjoy your walk in two weeks time, I'm hoping to get up next week 😁
You done well on Jacks rake mate, can be a bit sketchy sometimes. Anyway, cracking video mate, just subscribed from a fellow UA-camr 😉👍
@PhilDodsworthOutandAbout Hi Phil, it was a fun day, and the views were amazing. Bit cold. It was coat on then off in the wind. Pleased you enjoyed the video 😊
Loved it mate, really good 👍
The cloud inversion in the valley was lovely! You had a great day for it!! I wished that I lived a closer to the lakes. 😍⛰️.
Hi Matt, it was a great day. The weather was amazing, and the views were fantastic. I'm looking to head to Wales next year and do a bit of hiking there 🙂
I braved Helvellyn via Striding. By the time we got to the chimney there was a small queue to descend. Those who chose not to wait were taking alternative routes down. After our climb down we sat and watched to see someone send their dog up the chimney whilst people were still descending.
Hi, thanks for the comment, hope you enjoyed the chimney 😁. Have you tried Sharp Edge at Blencathra, that's really good fun. Bit silly someone sending there dog up while people were coming down, that could have been so dangerous
@intuthegreatoutdoors not my dog. I wouldn't take her on something like that. It was another person with a dog who was climbing up whilst others were climbing down. As for sharp edge, not yet. Hopefully, next year. How is it in comparison.
@@NicolaLane-w2f Hi, sorry, I just released what I wrote about the dog, I've edited it to what I was supposed to say 😧 Sharp Edge is great, I would give it an 8 out of 10, and Striding Edge 6 out of 10, that's my opinion and other my have theirs, I did a video of it here ua-cam.com/video/gErX9XBuo-U/v-deo.html, unfortunately, I lost my action camera so could not show me crossing it, but the aerial views look amazing even if I say so myself 🙂 I also just did Jack's Rake on Friday gone, that's another 8 and hopefully will have that up this week.
Amazing views, i really need to go back up there. The only views i got was from the half way point! It was still amazing though!
Hi Matt, just seen your community post 😯 Coniston is a great hike, one of my favourites 😀
Some beautiful shots!! 🙌
Hi Matt, thanks, hope you had a good day. I cannot believe I lost my camera, so I could only show the drone footage. Gutted :(
@@intuthegreatoutdoors I had a great day thanks for asking, oh no that's not good I would be so gutted too. There not cheap!
@@matts_hiking_adventures True, but they can be replaced, it's the videos I lost that annoy me so much as they cannot be replaced😪enjoy the rest of your day
A very good video. We climbed the Old Man Conniston from conniston and went up from Levers Water. A beautiful mountain we loved it. Thank you
I agree, it is a beautiful mountain no matter which way you go up, the views are stunning from the top and on the way up. I've never been up past the reservoir, I need to go that way sometime. Thank you for liking the video, I try to make them show the amazing scenery and not about me
This is a great video, you got some great shots! It was lovely to meet you both, happy adventuring, Emma 😊
Hi Emma, thanks for the comment, it was great to chat to you and both me and Jo loved your company :)
Hi Emma, I thought I had replied to you 😁 it was good to meet you, how are you doing?
Looked challenging and dangerous. Must have been very exciting. Really enjoyed Video.
Thanks, it was great fun, especially the scramble up to the summit
What an interesting and exciting video. Thank you for sharing.
It was a great day, weather was amazing
This is a great video showing the rugged beauty of Ben A'an. Thank you so much for sharing.
Yeah, Ben A'an is one of my favourite mountains in Scotland
Impressive video filled with good views. Very interesting and fun to watch. I am defo a fan of your adventures 😎😁😁
Thank you for enjoying the video
Beautiful. Are the buildings in the background apartments?
Hi Leskemp1207, to be honest, never gave it much thought 🤣 but saying that I think they are
Nasty weather there at the start. Turned out nice in the end.
The weather was horrendous at the start, during the night the winds really got up and you could hear it roaring towards me before hitting the tent, but the following day, the views were amazing. Well worth it 😁
Powerful Exhilarating Awesome Majestic Thanks for sharing
Hi David, I agree, It was very impressive the force of mother nature 😮
Where is this?
