Hi everyone! Welcome to my channel. My hobby is rebuilding vintage radios, receivers, and amplifiers. I post my journey on here for those who are interested. These videos are not overly technical, but geared to give you an idea of how I do this, along with some interesting history of the radio itself.
Did you change bulbs lamps ?
Yes. Both. This takes two festoon lamps. I couldn’t find the exact size, so I purchased the closest size available at an auto parts store.
This is simply bizarre. Just electrically finished my Triumph about 2 weeks ago. Then this week the selenium let go. I had maybe 4 hours on the set since I finished it. Last night, I decided to slide out of it’s shell and come up with a game plan. Well long story short I had it on the turntable on the bench and while shifting it about, I managed to put my finger right through the speaker. Watched Buzz1151 do that on his channel twice and told myself “I’d never pull a boner move like that”. Ahem….. Anyway searching around for replacement possibilities and came across this video! Your Triumph and mine are the only ones I’ve seen with FM (no AM) under the Zenith logo on the dial face. All the others say AM-FM under the logo. Thought that was kind of cool. Then I see you might be in MN as well?!? I’m up in Ely. Great video and cheers from a Zenith Bakelite nut.
I’ve never seen one with just “FM” either. I think, but am not sure, that the version we have is an earlier version. Later versions had the “AM-FM” lettering. I’m actually in CO, but I bought this from a guy in suburban Minneapolis. It lived in a garage for many years. It’s great radio that I still listen to. Good video as usual, informative! It’s amazing how complicated a lot tube radio seems as compared to a digital one. The ancient ones look to be more fun than tech ones.

Great information, helps understanding what’s going on in radios. It’s the pretty much the same principles for modern day radios I assume, including our car radios. Just a lot more sophisticated. I remember my mom filling out those Sears order sheets for all of my school clothes. Great memories, thanks for that and the lesson! Can’t wait for your next video.
