To peel or not to peel?
Переглядів 15712 годин тому
Though potato (and sweet potato, which are actually part of the morning glory family and not potatoes at all) peels ARE edible, there are certain applications where the peel is not desired in the final dish. So I peel them in those cases. It's not morally superior to leave your potatoes unpeeled and potatoes are still healthful even when the peel is removed. So do what you prefer, dependent on ...

Shabbos or Shabbat?

I was shocked when I first learned that some people don't realize that Hebrew has been studied and spoken by the Jewish people throughout our exile. It's the language of the written Torah and most of the religious texts written in the past two thousand years. It was the language of prayer and study, and that's something we've always done a lot of. When a large part of the world was not literate...

Just made this and it was so good! The whole family loved it. I added 2tsp Lawry's Salt when seasoning. I think maybe next time I'd also add shredded carrots and spinach. This would be such a good base to add other veggies! I served with fresh sourdough rye!

Kosher meat is so hard to find where I live, so I do vegetable stock. Save up your veggie scraps in a ziploc bag until it’s full. Add scraps to pot and fill with enough water to cover the scraps. Add salt, pepper and whatever herbs you have; I used oregano. I also put in a handful of salad greens to add some extra flavor. Boil, let cool. Strain.

wrapping in plastic seems to be a little wasteful. You know, plastic. Make sure your knife is clean and wet when slicing and wash it / clean it after few slices. When knife is wet and free of rice starch, it will not destroy roll. Also as a tip you should mention is to use gloves while doing. its a game changer for spreading rice. <3

It’s getting to be a real task finding locally grown garlic here. I’ll only buy garlic from a few countries…my own (Canada), the USA & sometimes Spain. I will NEVER buy it from China. I will go without or use garlic powder. I’ve often wondered if I could grow it in a pot on our balcony.

Please respond to this comment please! I'm looking into getting some chickens and I'm wondering which breeds are kosher. I assumed all concerns are kosher (for if one is kosher and is able to breed with another then they are of the same species); however, I've found that it is said that ones with feathers on their feet and ones with extra toes etc seem to not be considered kosher. However most chickens are interbred for example some of the ones you have seem to be buff orphingtons and upon my research(in an effort to find a pure breed) I found that those were made with Langshans (which have feathers on their feet). Help please!!!

Now I'm going down a rabbit hole of mosquito attraction and what it could have to do with heart surgery. A better-working heart might change the composition of the blood, which in turn could affect the composition of the sweat and breath. Or maybe a course of antibiotics changed one of the body's microbiomes (gut, skin, mouth) in a way that has remained changed. Or maybe a dietary difference?
