I was so disappointed with this season. The rushed pacing, the choices that characters made, the absurd contrivances, It spat in the face of season 1. Many decisions in the writing were more because the writers needed it to happen rather than because it is what the characters would do. The defense that I'm seeing for a lot of these grievances involve people writing scenes that never existed.

Couldn’t thank you enough for mentioning this: 17:44 “If you like Arcane say it from the rooftop , don’t let hate mobs change your opinion” I really needed this as I LOVE the show, but can’t lie that there are so many ‘criticism’ videos that sometimes throw me on a curveball. Though, I’ve realized thanks to you that what ever they say about Arcane I can still express fully on how much I appreciate the show and there’s nothing wrong with it even if some of my opinion are different from the majority.

Bro. I don't think anybody cares about them deviating from league lore I think people are sad that the show, to some extent abandoned it's character focused roots. Season 1 was all about the characters, while season 2 became more about the plot

I already said so much things about this show on different places with different people but GOD I LOVED IT ❤❤❤. And i liked your appreciation of it too ! To add a bit more to this comment, what I take from Arcane is that it is a story about love. In all its shapes, with all its consequences. Romantic love (CaitVi), brotherly love (Vander/Silco), sisterly love (Jinx Vi), cosmic love (Jayce / Viktor), motherly love (Ambessa / Mel and Felicia and the girls), fatherly love (Silco and Vander with the girls) or doomed love (Ekko / Powder). And maybe my favorite line of the show is Singed saying that we do despicable thing for love. And we see it, so much in Arcane is a consequence of one acting out of love. And the sheer diversity and beauty of all this shapes of love touched my heart in a way I've never see any other piece of art do. Finally, I think that the most evident love is the one that was put in this show. From the animation, to the writing, to the design and the music. It is obvious that each and every details we see were put in here by passionate people who had so much love for this story. I hope even people who weren't satisfied with some aspect that weren't fitting their expectations can realise how beautiful this show is nonetheless. Anyway, thank you for your video and sorry for the tldr but I'm obsessed with this show, it's hard not to talk about it 😂

I agree with you. Arcane was perfect the way it was made. We didn't need any more closures, we didn't need it to end exactly in the way we wanted (khm, Viktor fan here). A great story is not about going the way exactly like we wanted it to - it is to tell a great story that has an impact. Art is not supposed to make you feel happy - it's supposed to make you feel something. And Arcane does that. My two favorite characters are Viktor and Jinx, I suppose because I can identify with the two of them. Both of them had a great arc in this season and while I was hoping for a better ending for Viktor, I feel it made perfect sense. I was very sad for him because he was a victim of circumstances and he definitely did not get what he deserved in my opinion, but it was truly poetic how Jayce and Viktor chose to end the cycle. I do hope that we will get to see more of them with them maybe returning in some way (not necessarily even in their physical forms). I really liked JInx' story throughout the series. Season 2 threw a curveball at me with her being all rainbows and sunshine with Isha but it was very nice to see. It was great to see that as traumatized and damaged as she was, she managed to have a positive impact on the world around her, breaking the Jinx moniker. It was also great to see that although she wanted to end it all, she chose to live and ended it all by leaving so she (and everyone she left behind) can start anew. I think Arcane was written extremely well and that it gave the closure it needed to all the characters, based on the story it wanted to tell, while also leaving some things open to interpretation - or open for them to pick it up in a future project.

Am I the only one who thinks that this show would have been perfect if the writers did not add Ambessa in Season 1? Her storyline is cringe inducing and never brought anything to the table. Season 1 was a mess that Season 2 tried its best to clean

My stance is this...from the perspective of someone with no prior connection to LoL, strictly speaking of the story of Arcane, I don't care about the lore implications. That said, as someone who has been let down by other adaptions(The Dark Tower comes to mind) I appreciate that the writers did seemingly put thought into respecting the lore as much as they could while telling the story they wanted to tell. I respect people that didn't like the ending or even all of season 2 for whatever reason, but to then stretch that into saying it was objectively bad is patently absurd.

I think that a lot of people are struggling with some shift in tone between season 1 and 2. I also think that the first act of season 2 wasn't the best storytelling. But acts two and three were amazing. In the end, this is one of the best shows ever. Not one of the best adaptations. Not one of the best animated shows. Just one of the best shows ever.

Disagree hard about moving the sex scene to after the battle, mostly because we DO see Caitlin and Vi happy after the battle. We see Vi singing.

I loved it, too. Eps 5-6-7 were the most incredible upside down for the show, which delivered gut punch after gut punch. The high of the family reuniting, then the gut punch of Isha’s sacrifice, then the dance scene. Still buzzing. I don’t follow the league lore at all. Never played. The characters drove the show for me. At the end… ekko helped jinx find some peace

tbh i really enjoyed viktors change, to be perfect is to just not to be human, cant really make him seem human like imo

also, aside from the themes of interpersonal relationships, Arcane's political anti-war, anti-apartheid and anti-revenge themes are exactly what we need right now. Making amends, knowing that nothing will be perfect and that there is a lot of work to do, is what is needed in the world right now.

i will admit at first i hated the ending, it felt hopeless, and beyond tragic,but upon analyzing what actually happened, looking at the subtle but intentional details, and re watching act3 i totally changed my opinion. this really was the best and only way to end off the show in a way that would truly impact the viewers, in hindsight they could’ve stuck with the piltover-zaun conflict, the jinx-vi dilemma, and never involved noxus but doing so made sense for the show (given noxus’ constant want for power and introducing the audience to the next show’s region) historically in runeterra, putting magic in the hands of mortal people never ends well and we saw first hand how that unfolded. the show became bigger than a piltover-zaun classism conflict and quickly got out of hand just like the arcane and the hexcore. yet they still managed to resolve *mostly* everyone’s story in a meaningful, realistic way. vi and jinx can never be together thats why jinx leaves, ekko and jinx absolve their hatred for eachother yet remain distant given everything jinx has done. viktor and jayce have to sacrifice themselves to save the world given it was their hastily actions and (somewhat justified) impatience that led them to this destruction. their greed for discovery made the magic unsafe. i feel like each of these tied off the story of piltover and zaun while while prepping us for the next shows

I loved the show. Would love it if they had the opportunity to do a "directors cut" sort of like they did with lotr. (Extended love making scene + jinx/ekko bonding time before the grand final battle). I actually understand where the criticism is comming from in terms of pacing and story direction. Too many times i.m.o. amazing stories that are grounded in reality and explore interesting themes devolve into grandios battles where the good guys fight god and completely power creep the other verse/forget primary conflicts that made them human. I felt the same to an extent here, but on a rewatch, the story doesnt feel as rushed as it is accussed of being. Things sort of progress like a book, where there is a lot of slow setup, but when approaching the ending, things are falling into place on their own. Yes, I wouldve loved to seen a bit more dialogue between certain characters; namely sevika and the council, sevika and the undercity and trying to rally them or ekko and jinx, but none of this seems contrived or out of place. Plus I dont believe everything needs to be spelled out for us. It was as close of a perfect ending as possible. Additionally, I would love to see an arcane spinoff in Piltover/Zaun, where we do see the rise of other champions. (Im biased as I adore CaitVi and would love to see more). My theory is to have a spinoff in Demacia where Jinx would show up, meet Lux, befriend her (be as a side character, not a lead), and return to Zaun for whichever purpose; maybe hear that Vi is in trouble or try to reconnect after experiencing new things? Idk, but im pretty sure shes not gone from our screens and neither are the others, despite not reprising their roles as leads per se. Sorry I made it so long, but you said you liked a convo and this is how I feel, SCREAMING IT FROM THE TOP OF MY LUNGS!

The open ended ending is to tie loose ends later/add layers in in-game lore. Plus thinking about it if i were riot i wouldnt want the show to tie all loose ends, for the sake of the franchise league, show or future MMO. If any of those things want to have the longevity, it wouldnt make sense to give everyone their happy ending like that. Only thing im disappointed about is WW redesign, no longer my Werewolf daddy, made me depressed. The intro tho was so FREAKING GOOD GOD DAMN IT WAS HYPE!
