If lori had died S1, then i bet shane would have been rick's right hand man until the very end.
yeah but with the merl decision you gain Daryl as a friend for life
bro you have a very one sided view of shane
Sadly, my view is biased. I met John as, Frank, before I saw him as, Shane. So…. Props to Sarah Wayne Callies, i disliked everything about that character. I mean that. I truly respect an actor, that can make me hate them. Lori handled this in an unflattering way.
Shane also suggested leaving the farm and moving on if clearing out the barn was not an option that Rick was not on board with. Shane could be volatile once he reached the end of his patience but he was remarkably patient with ricks decisions even when he didn’t necessarily agree with them up until he saw Rick helping Herschel heard walkers into the barn. Shane wanted to end the search for Sophia fairly early on and made some good points about it stating that after 72 hours you aren’t looking for a missing person , you’re looking for a body and that was before the end times - he was on board with continuing to help search her even though he thought she was a lost cause up until another group member (Daryl) almost died in the process. He helped make the group stronger as a whole by teaching anyone who was interested in learning how to shoot, something that we don’t really see him get much credit for even though it was foundational for a good number of them becoming capable survivors. Seeing his best friend who’d usurped leadership of the group making what seem to be increasingly foolish leadership decisions that had the potential for disastrous long term ramifications for the safety of said group damn near pushes him over the edge which is finally cemented by the Randall situation followed by what I think was supposed to be Lori’s attempt to make peace with him that either gives him hope that if he gets rid of Rick and Randall he could be with Lori Carl and Judith in the way he wants or breaks his heart (and psyche) when he realizes he will never be able to be with the family he wants and now his best friend/ rival/ co leader will never trust him again - that he had nothing left to lose.
I think shane jealous of rick because he wants only family like Rick.
No loyal with Shane lori
Bucky started holding back
Is this fckn AI?? Get this sht out of here, stop supporting these AI channels with 300 subs
Lets not forget, Randal openly said to Carl while locked in the barn that he had every intent to go back to his camp and bring them to the farm. He said it. Shane was absolutely correct to end Randal. Not only that, but a mature person knows he was also absolutely right to take Rick out in to the field and end him.
You sound like AI
To be honest he good character i did like him as a character i did wish Rick and him could have been friends again like the old days and plus he got upset because he thought his friend rick again was die he did everything to keep him safe and life his friend because i have a feeling he would come back in way really i don't really now yet.
I hate Lori, and Shanes worst mistakes were A trying to keep her, and B, not ditching the group with Andrea.
He was one of my favorite characters. He would have led the group better than Rick. Didn't take chances like Rick did.
I know this is an old video, but how are we not going to mention that he sexually assaulted Lori back at the CDC… Lori was not perfect by any means but you cannot argue that he was right in assaulting her
@@anya_winters2274 He’s a piece of shit for that. I’m not arguing with you.
Finally someone that brings lori up in the way I would thank u 💯
No problem man. I try to look at everything objectively in pursuit of the truth and I feel I left no stone unturned including Lori.
@@MrLeroy42 that's the go 🗿
He's always been my fav since the first time I saw it
He’s great. Not as a person, but definitely as a character.
@@MrLeroy42 most definitely
This my favourite song by them look at all of their extra gear in the back😊
Lori is the real villain
My mama always said always go with your first mind.
That's because you are a robot. At least you sound like one 😂😂😂
LORI is the problem she uses people and drops them when finished expecting everyone to shut up and except what she wants ,but at least gets what she deserves.
Shane is definitely a top 5 character for me. That hallucination Rick had in his last episode of season 9 was nice way to wrap up the whole dichotomy of Rick being more soft and leanient when Shane was in the show but eventually surcumbing to the way Shane would do things after the prison. It was a pleasant surprise undeed. I know everyone says this but yeah Shane was ahead of the curve he was living in season 5 during his time in season 2.
Absolutely. He was right on everything that had to do with survival. With Lori he was definitely wrong lol.
first its irrelvant if he thought he was dead or not its stll wrong scond its implied he was into her like when he asks rick how theyre doing and when he says good u can see slight dissapointment
Randle could not be trusted as he was very dumb and would have been useless no matter what.
Shane adapted faster since he was a first responder and could see what was happening unfiltered from the start. Rick would have might have made the same adjustment quicker, but he was in a comma. Hersel and family were isolated in a rural area.
Shane loved Rick in the beginning and truly saw him as a brother. That part is absolutely true.
Absolutely!
Shane broke the bro codex. That's reason enough to hate him.
One thing ill say about the Merle situation; i think that it was the right call down the line because that act alone had Rick earn Daryls respect. If Rick agreed with Shane, i think Daryl wouldve held resentment towards the group from that point on instead of the route he ended up taking. He ended up becoming one of the most vital pieces of the group. I dont think he wouldve became that for Rick if Rick didnt agree to go with him to retrieve Merle. When it comes to making decisions, sometimes you have to take into consideration which decision creates a loyal ally for you. Creating loyalty and a worthy ally of Daryl was worth it. If i had 2 choices, one made Daryl and ally and another made someone like Dale an ally.. im choosing the choice that supports Daryl because hes just way more useful.
That’s a take I’ve never heard before. You’re not wrong. The question is: Is the risk of going back for Merle worth it? And I guess that can be debated.
@@MrLeroy42 If it kept Daryl around for the rest of the show, knowing in season 3 they both talked about actually robbing that Atlanta group blind before Merle disappeared, id say it was worth every damn second.
I will say that the difference between Rick and Shane is that Shane lost his morals as he adapted too quickly, Rick didn't. Shane shot Otis in the leg so he could survive, Rick would never do that. Shane shows he has a quality that when it comes to survival he would sacrifice anyone to save himself, Lori and Carl. While Rick wouldn't throw Glenn, Maggie, Hershal, etc under the bus just to survive. Shane was right a lot, if not almost all the time but he is also the kind of person you don't want watching your back on a dangerous mission. Rick's adaptation took longer but he was more healthy, able to be a leader that both truly cared for his group and had the kind of brutal mentality needed. While Shane had the right mindset, he didn't have the love or compassion Rick did for everyone, for him it was always just him, Lori and Carl.
Good!!!❤
There are so many instances throughout the whole of the series where Rick proved Shane right.
he had some good points.....but mostly bad points......i mean the way he treated his best friend when he came back........who would do that really.....if i had hooked up with his wife like that i woulda gladly stepped aside right when rick got back......there were other females available for him
Remember, I like Shane as a character, not as a person. And it’s a complex situation. We can say that we’d do whatever but we’re not in that situation.
shane shouldnt have stopped beating ed
W opinion.
I'm so glad that I came across this video. S2 was amazing things were simpler and it was all about surviving. Character interactions were the best of all seasons
Agreed! Plus the dialogue just felt more real. S2 of TWD is my favorite piece of media ever. Well it's at least tied with The Punisher S1.
lori '' you should leave'' shane : aight imma leave to much bs lori : excuse me wtf you cant just leave *me* and carl shane : ???????? i loved shane alot. just cant agree with his SA on lori at the CDC yes he was drunk still not a excuse to do it though. other than that i really liked him
People tend to forget what normal grief can do to a person. They look for solace and others who share their grief, and sometimes that leads to boning, add in the damn zombie apocalypse and just how much Shane loves Rick, I get it. I don't fault him or Lori for what happened when they thought Rick was dead and were in survival mode. Not one bit. Lori is allowed her anger as well, she trusted Shane and to her, he lied to her and broke her trust more than probably anyone else in her entire life, but god lord! If everyone had just talked to each other like adults, things would have been way different. The part where I start to dislike Shane, is in the CDC when he tries to rape Lori. That's crossing a line. His character went downhill for me after that. Even if I understand and agree with his later actions on the farm and seriously, the group was delusional and he was the only one who already came to terms with their new reality, that was a black stain that I just cannot forgive. Even trying to kill Rick, his best friend whom he loves, is just not cut out for this new world and he wants to protect Lori and Carl, I get it.
Amazing video dear fellow! 🦋💜
Thank you!
W
My motto is "What would Shane do?" Lol
I always wondered if Randall was possibly a savior or one of those claimer guys and it was just still earlier on in the apocalypse
Do over
You
I 100% agree season 2 was the best because of how grounded it was, like you said it was about survival. I feel TWD lost sight of the real threat and kept leaning more towards heavy action and war against other groups. All the characters had steady development and the love triangle with andy, jon, and sarah was executed so well, like I really didn't like that woman lol shoutout to Glenn, Daryl, Dale, and T-Dog <3
You are absolutely right!
a respectable list
Thanks! If you have any recommendations for a video I should do next, just let me know.
Rick and Shane chose hoes before bros. Cardinal sin.
Season 2 is mad underrated
Absolutely, my friend.
i started hating shane after what he did to otis
Dude you don't go with your best friend's wife. Even if time has passed, even if he is dead. It's called showing respect like come on, both Shane and Lori are wrong for this. And it's not like he accepted it when Rick came back and backed off or tried to make it right. He continued to pursue both Lori and Carl and tried to steal them from Rick. Even assaulted her during that time. He even tried to kil Rick and had thoughts about doing horrible stuff multiple times. And don't say about Lori being pregnant. We don't know if Judith is his, she most probably is but again you don't try to backstab your best friend like that. Lori though is even worse. She completely cuts Shane off and manipulates them both. She is a bad wife for the things she did to Rick.
Lori is responsible for the death of Shane I believe
