Where are you playing?
This is the Executive Course at GC Schloss Egmating in Munich!
The hat is just pure mate 🤠 keep it going 🔥
Cheers mate - I'll keep on it!
Little known but Jesper actually introduced Elin to Tiger Woods, who she later married of course. Jesper was really sneaky good actually too.
Jesper was a proper player - had a few tournaments gone differently, he'd be a major winner
Great video keep it up
Cheers Gabriel! I'll keep on it
The sea was angry that day, my friends.
Designer Buddy doesnt say a single thing about their max out of center values. Or testing that's been done on the matter in relation to putting. In short, what he said is PR fluff regardless if there is merit to it or not
Bold of you to assume I can hit my driver straight
I believe in the best
Hate to say it but that’s ground under repair. I know it’s not the official ruling but it should be…. A player took a chunk of the course out… and now it’s damaged. And is under repair. If your playing with me or anyone I know your getting relief from a divot. They just need to fix the damn rule.
I agree with you. Same thing as with spike marks on greens - another golfer damaged the course in front of you. To play devil's advocate, how would you determine what is and is not a divot in the fairway? How about divots that are filled with sand?
I always assumed his father was much wealthier than him, so I am surprised money was such a constraint for him.
Good point! I read that his father owned a couple restaurants and movie theaters in Stockholm - maybe only had that kind of money later in life.
180 GBs and weeks of editing later, I have finally finished this video! So, I would appreciate you leaving feedback! What effect do you think that the PGA Tour and LIV Golf have on the game of golf? Also, if you like this kind of content, and want to help me get to 1000 subscribers, please subscribe.
Jesper is a very likeable guy 👏
75% sounds impressive til you realise that was all that was on. Every program at that time had 75% of the audience. Kinda joking but not really. We only had 2 channels at that time.
Interesting! I wonder, how did Bo Parnevik get that job? Based on watching interviews, I got the impression that he was a true professional - meticulous in preparation. Must have been good though if people stayed to watch.
Yeah, back in the late 70's you either watched one of the two TV channels or listened to one of the three radio stations. Not a lot of choice in digital entertainment lol
@@marcleongolf His first televised program was as a 19 year old at in 57 on new years. To my understanding it was sort of a variety show with an assortment of the known and unknown artists. After that he toured the "folkparker", which is the place in every small city where the people hung out to dance, watch local talent and listen to music. That's still how some bands get famous (we call them dancebands. Listen to Vikingarna if you want to hear more.). He did hundeds and hundreds of these shows and then got picked up on a show my Lennart Hyland. Lennart Hyland was like THE person. Like you Walter Kronkite or something. Once you got picked up there, every swedish person would instantly know you and eventually he got his own shows.
@@snerka I appreciate you taking the time to write this out - super interesting! Considering how long Bo worked in show business, I can now understand why he was so hesitant for Jesper to do "The Parneviks". An audience would be guaranteed because of him and his name, so he did not have the luxury of failing in silence. Spent the last hour listening to Vikingarna, and love the rhythm of it. A bit like German Schlager, but with the advantage of not understanding anything, so *tack för att du presenterade mig för dem*!
He's caddie Lance Ten Broeck ( last call Lance) was a real wild man. He also played the tour.
Saw on Jesper's social media that they had a very close relationship. Didn't know that he also played on the PGA Tour! Made more money caddying that playing.
@@marcleongolf😳 JUST LIKE ME!!😮Coincidence??😂
Jesper is a really odd type, but always seems nice. I have not met him personally but know people who have run into him from time to time. He is also friends with Bill Murray and there are countless stories about how he and Bill did things when drunk, for example driving a golf cart in the middle of central Stockholm because they quote "Was a fun thing to do"
Hahaha, that's hilarious. Seems like something he and Bill would do.
I met them alot when working at Circle K in Åkersberga where they have a house and often comes to sweden for midsummer and christmas staying there. They are such down to earth people and genuinely nice people! Always cheerfull and fun to interact with! Nice to see a video about Jesper great work man!
I appreciate it! I watched a few clips of their reality TV series on YT (can't stream it outside of Sweden unfortunately), and they seemed very down-to-earth. Glad to hear some confirmation. Was the TV show as big of a hit as it was made out to be?
@@marcleongolf Pretty much...
Not as popular back in Sweden after he sold himself out to the LIV tour.
I don't think Jesper has played on LIV. I believe you mean Henrik Stenson - a fellow Swede. But honestly, Jesper would be the kind of player LIV would chase - a bit eccentric, a crowd favourite, and a dang good player in his prime. In either case, you're right in stating that that decision wouldn't have (and has not for Henrik) gone over well in Sweden.
Stenson. Not Parnevik.
haha, you were wrong, feel the shame!
Now this is embarassing. Imagine having no clue what you're talking about.
His 2 other daugthers are named Peg & Penny. Peg is the swedish word for tee Penny is named after his green marker, since he always used a penny to mark his ball on the green
Haha, that's amazing, thank you for sharing! Seems like something Mia and Jesper would do.
Tee is tee in swedish. Peg is the little twigg you put the golfball on when you drive
@@Berigan725 The thing you put the ball on when you drive is also called tee
@@tr0fast280 Fair point! I changed it.
The end of this video needs to have Steel Panthers, "Just like Tiger Woods," playing
This is my first time hearing this song - amazing. A fitting song for a Tiger edit.
He introduced his kids’ nanny to tiger who later became tiger’s wife. Whether a couple’s marriage works or not is on them not other people. Tiger’s marriage failed because of his infidelity? That subsequently torpedoed a chunk of his prime. So to blame jasper for somehow destroying tiger’s career? 😂
While Jesper is definitively not to blame, there is no denying that he was involved. Who knows if Tiger would have done things differently if he had met the nanny of a different player - I doubt it though. The fact that it was Jesper was just bad luck.
@lmfgolf Tiger was banging anything and everything back then. It doesn't matter who he married. He was still going to be running around filling divots.
@@marcleongolf AI ?
@@samdukeminier Haha. That's just the way I write mate. Though using AI ain't a bad shout.
What took a chunk of Tiger's prime was his swing and injuries. Back in the ninties' there were no end to the comments about his (albeit successful) playing style.
Really great video man; never knew about this fine golfer!
Appreciate it mate! Glad you enjoyed it.
A great character who was always worth watching for the quality of his golf as well as his wardrobe.
Definitely agree, shame I missed his playing days. I'm sure I missed some cool stories of him on tour.
Unfortunate that Jesper & his wife are connected to that low point in Tiger Woods career. But Jesper is a classy guy, and was 100% correct for calling out Tiger for being such a shit heel of a man at the time.
I just like how honest and straight Jesper is when he answers questions. Very refreshing to have a guy say what he thinks and not be scared of alienating people he believes are doing wrong - Tiger included.
Always blame the woman. You’d be right 100% of the time.
@@seadonkey6913 You must hold them in awe at the incel conventions ... me, I know you're a twerp.
Tiger's wife is golfs Yoko Ono, Tiger shouldnt have got married and just kept slamming a new chick in each city

I still use my dad's 1959 Wilson Staff Top-Flite irons and woods. These are the clubs Arnold Palmer used in the late 1950s. I love them. Small heads and blades. You have to understand the physics of your golf swing to hit every ball perfectly. I don't need to hit 300-yard drives for my ego. My goal is to keep the ball in the fairway and out of the sand and water. I have tried to develop a very simple, repeatable swing by engineering my swing from the point of contact to the point of address as opposed to the opposite. I can't repeat as often as Ben Hogan and Moe Norman but I understand what I did wrong when my ball is not in the middle of the fairway. If I hit as many practice balls as Ben Hogan perhaps I would have been able to train my muscle memory to be more consistent. But, even at my age of 72, I keep trying.
Lol, y'all keep trashing Wilson. You go ahead and spend $500 on a driver and I'll keep buying inexpensive, yet outstanding clubs. Rubes.
I agree with you. I like Wilson's products - they're one of the companies that have not gone along with the "hype" other manufacturers have used to mark up their products exponentially. I don't think Wilson has done everything right with their corporate strategy however. While we benefit from getting good products at cheap prices, Wilson and their shareholders are definitively not getting the most out of their history.
They were cheap to begin with then they tried to get cheaper to make more money.
I grew up in the 70s I got a 2nd hand set of Staff‘s . Great irons , my three sons all learned to swing with them . Still have have them
Back in the late 80s I was in the crowd of a pro and match a reasonable size event and on the back nine you could stand near the tea section I saw some player reasonably well known with a big brand sponsored bag not Wilson so I took a look inside his golf bag to see a shiny new matching set to my surprise had an old well used Wilson clubs set - your film explains it all
By turning out crap that's how. Seriously, that 'balata ball' which was a balata cover over the hard Ultra core? What the heck were they thinking? They make some pretty good stuff today but most still think they make crap. Their balls are actually really good now. Their irons are really good.
I remember reading about them trying to compete with Titleist's Balata balls and falling woefully short. But I can't imagine them not realizing that they were putting out inferior products, so I think that they're currently paying for their past mistakes. I play Staff Model balls and my - HCPer friends rip me for it. Most of those guys are younger than the Balata balls, which just goes to show you how far the rabbit hole goes.
@@marcleongolf I lived in the town where Wilson balls were made. The guys that worked there were all excited about that balata ball and gave me some. I was like... This is a joke, right? They got all offended. Lol I tried the 50 Elite the other day and was beyond surprised with it. It's a darn good ball.
My favorite pro shop recently recommended the Wilson Staff Model balls to me. I've been very impressed, so far, and they're considerably cheaper than the other "tour quality" balls.
Looking at the MyGolfSpy tests, they are really underrated and actually beat most of the big-brand balls in select individual companies.
9:58 🍑🍑
Padraig Harrington seems okay with them.
Paddy's not doing too bad with them, agreed. A great signing for Wilson.
I use Wilson staff wedge and D7 driver, they are insane!! And great value
I have a set of Wilson woods, as in actual persimmon wood woods: driver, 3-wood, and 5-wood. Really nice looking set, with the finish getting progressively lighter from drive thru 5-wood: dark brown for the driver, medium for the 3-wood, and a blonde finish for the 5-wood. Got them at the time when the switch to metal woods had completely taken over. In fact, they were the last persimmon wood clubs in the store, and I bought them knowing I'd probably never really use them. Played with the 3-wood a few times, and the 5-wood was actually a nice little rescue type club. Also found a Wilson 50-degree gap wedge a few years ago on sale for $39.99 (at a golf store, not a big-box discount retailer). Bought it, and it has proved to be a fantastic little club. Can hit it off almost any surface. Seems utterly indestructible. The story of why Wilson fell from grace is typical of so many companies that fell victim to financial engineering and acquisition by sports conglomerates.
Your last sentence really holds true there. It's a crying shame that it happened, but like we saw with Adams Golf or Lynx - it could have ended much worse for Wilson.
wilson like srixon do not need to advertise the products like other brands. word of mouth and fittings are the way they make sales.
Interesting
It's amazing how when a logo gets associated with cheap/poor quality, the marketing doesn't think about changing the logo for their premium offerings. The Walmart association kills the consumer's perception of them.
They cheapened the brand and didn’t market their better clubs. The other big companies had superior marketing and kept their products out of Walmart and the like
You've hit the nail on the head. Pretty much boils down to those two factors.
Iv been looking for this video for years. Great work
Appreciate it. Thank you for watching!

Same as Lynx USA.
Exactly. Seems like Lynx also had big problems after being aqcuired 8 (!) times. Passed around the corporate table there. I'll add this as a video idea.
Sorry I just can't listen to this guy Reading off of a script in the same monotone boring droning tone for the whole video. Holy hell I about fell asleep
No need to apologize! But I do hope you share this video with any of your insomniac friends - I'm sure it would help them.
Last time a saw a set up of Wilson clubs was in the mid 80's. I play golf three times a week from Ca, Ga, Tn, AL, Fl etc.... not a set of Wilsons.
Just goes to show how much market share they've lost.
"WILSONNNNNNN!"
⛵🌊🧔🏻♂️🌊🌊🏐🌊 Loved that movie - best thing that Wilson did in the early 2000
There products are still really good, but they do not spend on advertising like the top brands and therefore the consumer doesn’t see it everywhere and that greatly effects the sales.
Yep! Totally agree. Though I think if they'd be smarter about it, they could still reach eyeballs without having to outspend their competition.
It was just old.. And not only that.. companies that make multiple sports products that could be found at Walmart made them look cheap. Titleist would go to hell if they started making tennis racquets and wristbands for Kmart. I did really like the 8802 remake in the late 90s and that titanium ball made me curious... But that's about it... The fat shaft irons made versatility impossible btw.
lol true, I saw a MacGregor dodgeball at Dick's sporting goods, like didn't jack Nicholas play these?
the clubs, not the dodgeball
@MichaelmaxxxX He even owned part of the company before selling it to Greg Norman!
I think they're coming back. I love their balls, and their new irons look fantastic
The Wilson Dynapower Carbon driver is the best driver out there. Switched from Stealth 2 to it. Perfect driver!!!
They lost credibility by launching their Fatshaft range. They seem to be on the up again now.
Surprised they didn't at least test it on a smaller market before going all in on it. Let's see if they can make some better decisions in the future.
I've played Titleist balls for 20 years and have wanted their clubs since my richest buddy got a 975D, but always saw them as top of the line premium clubs that were beyond my price range. I still think "oh, I bet this guy can play" when I'm on the first tee and see their clubs in someone's bag. They definitely have mystique.
Wilson being at the top was before my time, but I assume they had a similar effect to what you're describing when they held Titleist's current position. I got a great deal on the 2022 T100s, and have to say that they're great clubs.
@@marcleongolf I have a buddy who played LPGA who has those, gorgeous irons and exactly the clubs I had in mind for current day. Nice choice 👍 I play Ben Hogan Icons (2021, black)
