June 26 2021, me and my friend Lance Lamper visited a nostalgic childhood favorite of ours, Railtown 1897 in Jamestown California. This beautifully preserved roundhouse is home to various pieces of equipment such as Sierra #28, Sierra #34 and the infamous Sierra #3. Today we feature Sierra #28 and Sierra #1265. Awesome video! Love the inclusion of your photography work! Already miss the old f40s and those beautiful gallery cars.
Excellent documentary of the Caltrain F40PH units in the summer of 2024. Happy New Year to you and your family! -Kris
its giving skunk train vibs
Who's here in 2024??? 👇
❤❤❤❤❤💘♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
Quick question, do you have to stick to the one hour layover or can you get off at Roaring Camp, explore the state park, and then board a later train back down?
I was looking at the Roaring Camp website the other day; From what I could tell, you could absolutely take the early train in and the late train out. Still might want to call or email them to be sure before trying it, though.
No problem. I did that.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🥰🤗🎅❤❤❤❤❤
Very nice video of the rail experience.
Excellent production and looks like a very fun & scenic ride! Only downside are the riders being forced to wear masks outside! Sad the government forced them, and saddened they knuckled under. Thanks again for the fine video!
❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️
What's the issue with masks? Many people still wear them, even today. Compromised immune systems, allergies, asthma. Have to protect yourself.
I like the video and thats a fun train ride and i know people that work there
cool
I want to ride this train. Love those old wig-wags with the mechanical bell. Glad they still keep them working and can even find parts for them.
Im glad i have a new family at the Texas state railroad
Nice videography
Awesome video man!
Nice video
Is there a stop at the old historical Brookdale Lodge?
No. No tracks near there.
Nice
Great video Ian!!!

Steam and railbuses rule!

Niles Canyon Railway
Sunol, California
Awesome video! 👍
Is this the same railroad that owns SP 2472?
Nope, GGRM owns 2472, not NCRY
Amazing video! I’m happy how they decided to pair up 69 and 5076. Their ALCOs should be running again this week. They alternate the power every week btw
Nice video! Didn't the Napa Valley train own a few E or F units?
Nope! They own 4 FPA-4s, #70-73. 70 is back in service as of a few weeks ago, 72 should be back in service soon, and 71 and 73 will be used as a part source for 70 and 72.
Brooooo, great video!!
In the description for 28, it’s a 2-8-0 not a 2-8-2. Other wise great video
Nice video! Do you know what whistle 30 is fitted with?
It's an SLSF "Steamboat" whistle I believe. Not too sure the exacts
Im pretty sure the locomotive was built in the 1970s, the original form, which was an EMD F7, could be built in 1951. Anyways, nice video!
the locomotive was rebuilt in the 70s by Santa Fe from a cowl unit to a road switcher, but this specific locomotive had been built in the 50s as a F7
Nice Video!
Nice catches
Great video Ian, those are some sweet shots
Great video Ian! I love that locomotive
Thanks!, I definitely need to get a microphone.
I like the videography of your new camera.😁
What does ijm stand for
Great video Ian!
That was a great video! That was a fun trip!!!
i followed your channel and gave it some love.
I forgot they have two steamers!
we have 3
@@williamgant5463 3 Operable or just in general, because I was just referring to the operable ones.
@@SouthernKansasRailfan Just in general. I wish they would have 5.
@@SouthernKansasRailfan the 3rd one is getting wheel and running gear work. If we can keep people in the shop, should be running in 2023 again. Only reason it has not run since 2018 was 40's restoration took priority in 2019. Covid happened in 2020 and 2021, so this is the first year we can put a serious effort into her. She will be down for a tube job in the winter of 2024-2025, but we already have plans to knock that out when it comes.
The steamers of Colorado are always a treat! I might be taking a tour of the best steam railroads in 2023!
10th Sub!
Awesome Video Ian!! I love those whistles
You sir have a new subscriber! By the way I love the whistle squeak at 7:33! I always like to see a little wheel slip and I like the little "Dude that is cool" when the car drives off. You did great man keep it up!
Great video Ian! Glad I met you!
@@tricky1546 what? I’m a railfan friend of his and I’m a guy lol. You can see me at 8:02 on the right side of his video
