    hey cool video,i love the clod buster! i just restored mine from 2005...new esc,new motors,body and shock springs. i plan on buying another one once back in stock at my local rc shop. i noticed that you are using the torque tuned motors...they are not 0 timing motors so how are they working out for you? i know that the sport tuned motors are 0 timing and obviously the original tamiya motors are as one motor needs to run in reverse.

    • @TamiyaTalkRC
      @TamiyaTalkRC 8 днів тому

      @krislambert6625 thanks, mate. Really? Torque tuned are not set to zero? I was under the impression they were. Both of them are set up the same and they run great. I might swap them out for sport tuned, though. Thanks for the heads up!

    • @krislambert6625
      @krislambert6625 7 днів тому

      @TamiyaTalkRC yeah I asked at my go to online RC store as I wanted some replacements,I had already bought the torque tuned on Amazon but I cancelled them once I found out that they are not 0 timing,I think the directional arrow in the side of the can gives it away (which I missed) So I just got some new standard motors as I don't run my clod fast. But yeah the sport tuned (silver) are 0 timing

    • @krislambert6625
      @krislambert6625 7 днів тому

      @TamiyaTalkRC and from what I have heard yes the torque tuned will work but not sure how efficient they run or how long they would last in a clod set up

    Hey Guys……in another lifetime ago I was a Fitter and Turner completing an apprenticeship first and the company I worked for were the biggest gear cutters in South Australia let alone Australia at the time. You explained that extremely well and put it in basic terms for everyone to understand….Great Job !!! The other way of measuring could be used is a span micrometer but not many people would have one let alone even know such a tool 😆

    Cheers, mate! It's morning here, so I can't really grab a beer, but I felt like it after watching this! Yeah, I would buy your old Landcruiser, but I gotta admit I'm not much of a car mechanic and I'm all the way in the other side of the world, he he... Really interesting to follow, I love projects like this! When you begin to drive all the cars on the track, just have a statid camera on a pole so you see the entire track, then you can use the footage to time the lap times, unless you already have a timing system. I have a video somewhere where I did that, not sure I'm able to post a link... Anyway, I look forward to seeing some more of this project!

    This mod could be done to a lot of Tamiya transmissions such as the Hotshot and Fox or any Tamiya transmission that use 1150s on the outdrives. Much easier than the way I did for a Hotshot , which was tapping the outdrive and using an M2 capscrew to tighten them together. It was adjustable though 😁

    That's a lot of stuff, you got going on! Very well worth watching this channel update, not small stuff! Especially the track, that'll be exciting to watch, of course I can imagine the heat might be too much right now, but do RC cars during the day, construction in the nights, he he... I'm excited to see that FAV with Aussie paint scheme on it, that'll be awesome! I just watched Addam's Playground, he had painted his and was applying the decals to make it look like it was spray painted, seemed like a hassle... I have an FAV lined up in my own project queue, but it will be a fake, with DT-03 everything except the main chassis, it'll be fun, I'm pretty sure it will be painted plain black, we see about that... Cool update, lots of stuff guys!

    What battery are you using? it seemed like it ran like a 540!

      @ShadeTreeKennyT it's a ZEE 5000mAh nimh. It is pretty zippy off the start but it runs out or legs pretty quickly.

    It was really good to watch, I enjoyed this a lot! And I did learn something, too! I doubt I will need to start calculating this, but possibly in some cases if I can't find right gears, at least now I know how to check them! It was a good tutorial video! Keep them coming, mate!

      Thanks, mate. And that was the whole point of the video. Hopefully it'll avoid guessing and save stripped gears 😊

    Nice work. There are a few Tamiya cars that those Red servos don’t fit properly, I found that the cheap MG995 servos from Amazon will fit the grasshopper/ Hornet chassis without re-drilling chassis.😊

    Great work, guys. I just filmed a grasshopper video myself that's been in editing limbo for 3 weeks. Love running them , not big on the editing.

      Thanks, mate. Yeah, the editing is not fun.
