Why fall? I tried gomphrena in a planter this spring. Zone 8, full sun, but it’s still doing good. Do you recommend getting a few more and replanting?
What zone is Cincinnati Ohio in?
Very good! What is the tallest stack that you have done?
We once made an eight layer stack 😍
Yay my hummingbirds (next years) say thank you
Everything there at the nursery is so pretty
@@dereksummers8598 thank you so much! 🎃
Another interesting video. How big does the house need to be for the owls?
Owls are really great for keeping down the past when living out in the boonies but there is one downside they eat kittens too
And chickens also
Mum's the Mattie word. God Bless🙏🏻🕊💜... PreciateCha, Richard🚴🏻♂
In New Zealand - where are you?
What zone is Cincinnati Ohio in?
I really like the Bonnie red! They are all beautiful!
I had no idea that there were so many different colors! Thanks! Great job and video! Keep up the great job!
Thank you!
Love the colors
i need some of these.
I adore the white daisy mums & the red daisy mums.
I never realized that Veronica can flower in the fall. I will definitely pick some up! I don’t like how high maintenance mums are. Thank you so much for the idea!
Swell Mattie💐. Wonder how filo dough might work🤔? God Bless Mattie🙏🏻🕊💜🌻, Richard🚴🏻♂
Perennial asters are a beautiful, long blooming flower that pair wonderfully with fall plants 💜 They are hardy in zones 5-9 but some say they can come back up to zones 3! Our favorite perennial varieties: Aster Woods - all colors New England Aster New York Aster Stokesia Colorwheel (Stokesia and Asters are the same thing) Stokesia blue Danube Stokesia Divinity Do not confuse these with the annual variety- China Aster! This variety is great for potted plants and cooler areas however, we have not had good luck with them in our zone (8a) lasting more than a week or so. #fall
You almost lost me on dehydrator😂
Need more? Like swain County NC?
You’re cute.
Im beginning to think that you want to talk about ALL of the flowers there 😂 I’m out of pots and literally cannot keep up
I have most of these plants in my garden-I’m going to make this today!! Thank you!
I planted some Giant Hyssop. Talk about a pollinator magnet!
Sorry but go get yourself a bottle of cheap vodka rubbing alcohol evaporates too quick vodka alcohol lingers on a lot longer
Instead of the Witch Hazel?
@@SuperManning11 yes instead of witch hazel
@@SuperManning11 witch hazel is very light alcohol that evaporates to quick, cheap white alcohol/ liquor last and lingers on longer I used to make perfume with that you don't smell the liquor
@SuperManning11 and if you want it to last even longer as long as you're not putting on material or clothes you can add half a drop to a drop of olive oil, or coconut oil
For real? If that works I owe you big. Mosquitos love me but I hate spraying chemicals on my body
DIY Bug Spray 🦟 This recipe is simple and uses herbs you most likely have in your yard! Ingredients: 🪴 1/2 cup herbs (at least). You can use a mixture of mints, lemon grass, lemon balm, citronella, basil, hyssop, rosemary, lavender, catmint, marigolds, and any other mosquito repelling plant 💧 1 cup boiling water 🧙🏻♀️ 1 cup witch hazel. You could also use rubbing alcohol or vodka Directions: 1. Place all your herbs in a jar. You can take them off the stem or leave them. It’s up to you 2. Fill with 1 cup boiling water and 1 cup witch hazel. Close and shake thoroughly 3. After the mixture has cooled, strain the herbs. Make sure to press any excess liquid out of them 4. Put in your favorite spray bottle and store in fridge 5. Shake before use Here’s to less bug bites!
Good
Morning Glories have the prettiest bells but they are vines. Mustard blew me away this year, beige pedals and a darkish eye, they are tall and the leaves are not so attractive (also smells like mustard :/) I am going to use them in the back of my flower garden next year.
Pickled Red Onions Cut red onions into slices and pack your preferred jars Brine 2 cups water 2 cups vinegar 1/3 cup sugar 2 Tbsp salt Combine and bring to a boil Pour boil over onions Put lid on jar and refrigerate for 2 weeks before eating They are amazing on salads and sandwiches! Enjoy!
Pressed Flowers! The best flowers to grow for pressing are flowers with a single layer of petals; these are easier to press and dry. Flowers like canna lilies and dahlias are a bit too think to press/dry easily. Plants featured in video: Cosmos Cherryburst Superbena Pink and orange superbells Dusty Miller Some of our favorites for pressing not in the video: Zinnias Delphiniums Daisies Lavender Pansies Violets Ferns Baby’s Breath Marigolds (be careful of the double bloom varieties) Mums Nasturtium Poppies Larkspur Basic Pressing Instructions: (We recommend looking further into pressing kits and other flower pressing enthusiasts for more in depth instructions and other methods) 1. Pick flowers close to full bloom 2. Arrange your flowers on a sheet of parchment paper with 3/4” space between them 3. Place a second piece of parchment paper over top of them (or even fold over the same sheet) 4. Place in sturdy book and close 5. Wait 2-4 weeks for the flowers to be completely dry
Those look amazing. I wish someone would make those around here
They’re ok when they stay IN my flower beds
There’s no sound ☹️
I’ve been companion planting with marigolds but I didn’t know I could use chives also
Yayyy. I have sooo many songbirds this year. The hummingbirds have started coming around too.
I’m excited to start some biennials this fall. I just assumed they were reseeding annuals. The silly ending, I liked it 😊 be silly more
Some of our favorite biennials: Foxglove Forget me nots Hollyhocks Delphiniums- sometimes biennial

Those aren’t your gardening clothes! Those pumpkin rolls are adorable.
Thank you! 🎃
Pumpkin Rolls Ingredients: * 3 tsp fast action/instant yeast * ⅔ cup milk (either dairy or unsweetened non-dairy is fine) * ¼ cup light brown soft sugar * 1 cup pumpkin puree not pumpkin pie filling * 1 large egg * 4 ¼ cups Plain flour (all-purpose) * 1 ¼ tsp salt * 1 tsp ground cinnamon * 1 tsp ground ginger * ½ tsp ground coriander * ¼ tsp ground cloves * ¼ tsp ground nutmeg * ⅓ cup butter * 2 Tbsp melted butter for brushing (or melted vegan butter) * sliced pecans for stalks (sliced lengthways) Instructions * In the bowl of an electric stand mixer whisk together the yeast, ½ tsp of the brown sugar and ⅓ of the milk until the yeast has dissolved. Let rest for 5 - 10 minutes until foamy. * Whisk in the rest of the milk, the sugar, pumpkin puree and egg (or flax egg). * Add the flour, salt and spices and stir to form a rough dough. Mix on a medium speed for a couple of minutes then gradually add the butter a tablespoon at a time, mixing well after each addition. * Turn the mixer up to high and continue to mix for about 5 to 10 minutes until the dough is smooth and elastic and pulls away from the sides of the bowl cleanly. It should still be quite soft and sticky but should not be wet, if it is then you can add in a little more flour as needed. * Transfer the dough to a large, lightly oiled bowl; cover and set aside to rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1-2 hours. * Knock back the risen dough and divide it into 12-15 even pieces (I made 12). Shape each one into a ball on a lightly floured surface. Line two baking sheets with baking parchment. * To shape the buns using scissors, oil your scissors (or a sharp knife) and make 8 cuts equally spaced around the ball of dough, leaving the centre uncut. * Place the shaped buns well spaced apart on the prepared trays. Cover loosely with oiled clingfilm and set aside to rise until puffy and the dough springs back slowly if you press it with a finger, about 45 minutes. * Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 350°F/. If you are using the scissors shaping method then use the oiled end of a wooden spoon to make a deep hole in the centre of each bun. Bake the buns for about 20 minutes until golden and they sound hollow when tapped on the bottom. * Remove the buns from the oven and allow to cool for a couple of minutes then very carefully remove the string (if you used that shaping method). Brush the buns generously with melted butter and push a sliced pecan into the centre of each to make the stalk. Best served on the day they are made; store in an airtight container.
Nice one.❤
GIRL is that YOUR farm?? we NEED a tour if so !!
Will do a tour soon ❤️
How does asters yellow look on Rudbeckia? I fear I might have some infected
I just pruned by lemon balm like you taught in another video!
That’s awesome! ❤️
Ratatouille Garden Bed 🍅 Plant everything you need to make the summer classic, ratatouille! 💜 In this 8’ x 4’ bed we planted: 4 Cherokee purple tomatoes (planted against our cattle panel trellis) 4 zucchini (in tomato cages for spacing and squash bore control) in the middle alternating with eggplant 4 eggplant alternating with zucchini 4 yellow squash - at the opposite end. They will eventually be trellised as well 4 sweet basil 4 parsley 4 cilantro for aphid control. Put them near the shade of the tomatoes 1 bag of onion starts around the edges. If you’d like to add a couple of bell pepper plants, you can as well! 🫑 We don’t stress too much about “recommended spacing”. It’s all up to the individual, BUT we find planting more in each bed helps with pest control, weed control, and of course, a higher yield 🫑 Be sure to check out our Ratatouille Recipe Video!
Yay it’s almost chrysanthemum weather
Do you know why they repel bugs? :0
Id put some mantis egg sacs around your garden, that way the mantises will eat the clearwing moths
