On our fishing trips I always try enjoying the environment and opportunities to learn.
Salmon and Steelhead are returning to our hatcheries. One of the equipment tools used is a fish pump to aid in moving and processing the fish without harming them. It can move fish from one location to another alive in water or to containers.
When I go fishing near hatcheries, I always take the opportunity to see what is going on there. Sometimes I am amazed and thankful. Other times I wonder why some fish are not accessible to sport fishing and being wasted or utilized in a manner not effective for increasing opportunities for healthy returns now and in the future for everyone.
