Pretty sure that this feeling of seeing Gwyn reduced to the husk of his older self is just pretty representative of how pathetic he has fallen. Consumed by his fear from humanity and darkness, suffocating in his pride from the age of fire and his belief in the gods created by fire. His fighting abilities are not even a shadow from his time as the Lord of Sunlight, allowing you to even parry him like he was a nobody. You are not even fighting the final boss, you are not even sparring with the dying corpse of someone who once was a king. You are just putting down a scared dog from his misery. That's why his main theme is not even an epic one. It just sounds like a tragic song of a God that fell from grace, drowning in the sorrow and probably in repentance that his fear from darkness condemned his entire world to an endless loop of suffering just to hold to a hope that doesn't matter anymore once that his body and soul is consumed by The First Flame 😢
