It's a 440A steel according to the box. Not N690 it would be cool if it was N690. But it's not.

I love how the Operator Bowie looks, just like you said. I’ve wanted one for awhile now. I really like Condor fixed blades tho they’re some of my favourite.

Great knife, bought one myself also. Nice and sharp, good 90 degree spine that strikes a ferro rod well, but it's a horrible sheath! Wish it was a nice kydex sheath!

Have this knife, bought it because it was beefy and inexpensive. Two things I don’t like, not a fan of recurve blade, and not liking the finger groves fat handle. It stays in the car for just in case, not a frequent used tool.

I've had this knife for the past 5 years or so and it is a great budget beater. From the usual knife tasks to hammering, digging, prying - I've beat the snot out of mine and it has held up. Due to the high carbon content it takes on a patina really well. The only downside for me is the sheath, it sucks big time and will not hold up to regular use. I hope the newer version comes out here in South Africa. Thanks for the content, keep it up and stay blessed.

I use it for gardening clearance work, and it's good at taking ivy off a wall 🧱 without damaging the brickwork!

What material is the guard?

Top one, it’s legit what a Bowie knife should be. Large, sharp and a good chopper. Hefty. Just ordered a second one yesterday to just have.

I was really surprised at how solid and stout not to mention LARGE this knife is! It takes a pretty good beating and still keeps a paper cutting edge!!! A pretty good beater blade...

I just used it to make kindling, it's tough !!

Tank of knife but I hated the handle . I heavily rounded off the scales with a Dremel . Thinned the edge a bunch too .

One of my favorite, all around "work horse" knife! You can't go wrong having this knife. It won't let you down!!! Great review...

Schrade is totally underrated. Their fixed blades are still great budget beaters to throw in your go bag, camp box or truck. Easy to mod too. (I didn't hear anything you said the first 1'30")
