Schrade is totally underrated. Their fixed blades are still great budget beaters to throw in your go bag, camp box or truck. Easy to mod too. (I didn't hear anything you said the first 1'30")
I have da old one 😊
That’s a cute cat
Paid $20 on psa website, looks badass on my wasr.
My 1st big knife, i dont regret it.
@@1nfamyX yeah it's beast mode
Damn that thing is fugly
The gordon bowie knife is a way better buy!
Agreed lol it needs some fine tune and then your in business
It fits in the sheath solid push it in until it clicks…. I was confused too
Just discovered this knife. I hate that they apparently changed the handle. Used to, the SOG logo on the handle was black. I'm really not a fan of the big white SOG logo on the black handle.
@@MRGoods89 yeah it's kinda in your face they should had left it black or just removed it completely
@@knife_123 random question that you might not know. I'm trying to look up ways to remove print from rubber or darken it or something. One common thing I've come across is to try acetone. Any thoughts on that?
It's the Jackhawk 9000!
I love it. I like that tactical style.
Bro you got so lucky with this knife holy shit, if only bark river made these today in 3V dam. Or better yet if they added fine teeth to the back with a small serrated part on the bottom
Thanks it's my brother's knife @tanstattoo for a non knife guy 😭
my work buddy just got the tanto little ozark fixed blade with sheath , its really nice , hope you are well bro, i got some blades here recently , thanks n talk soon > tom !
Hey brother hope well to thanks for watching 🙏
Awesome video brother. Thank you for sharing
Would love to see how it holds up on some mid/hard use 🤔 but for cheapo it looks good. Tho in here it is bout 40€ 💀
Wow sir it's cheap here in the states or maybe the same
I love cold steel as well 👍👍
@@jackgreenstalk777 what cold steel knife do you own?
@@knife_123 the serrated spartan is my favorite. Too many to list 🤣
I have a few Mtechs 086s they're very good knives VERY UNDERRATED...I end up collecting good Mtechs
Mtech knives are cool for the price
Yes they are... they're very underrated I've seen video on UA-cam where a dude shot this same knife with a 380acp and a 22lr and blade didn't warp or break...now that shows how good this knife is
Perfection!!! So nice collection!!!
Great review. Did you purchase it used?
Negative sir it was new but it was rusting don't know why so I hit it with the steel wool
the tech bowie is one of the best looking knives of all time. i wish they still made the "seal team elite". it was basically the seal pup but with a 7 in. blade
@@rudymendoza1264 or the seal 2000 do you own the tech Bowie
@@knife_123 no. i want one. i have a sog jungle canopy in my storage unit though!
would love to own em all most def. , i own a mora here and they are similiar i think , them carbon steel blades are cool , you keep em coming , thanks bro > tom !
i really like it alot , its coldsteel , thanks for sharing , love talking blades with ya bro, keep em coming > tom !
yea bro i had the fin wolf flipper before , def. great blades , i love my coldsteel's here , thanks n keep em coming > tom !
great blades and they make really great multi-tools as well brotha , you keep em coming , i really love em all 1 million % coolness , thanks > tom !
Hey! I know what the steel is and the handle is. The handle is madenof polished pakka wood and the steel is 440 stainless steel.
Do you own this knife ?
@knife_123 yes sir I do.
@@dexterousplot624 that's great what do you think about it
@knife_123 it is pretty decent for what it is! I like the handle and the finger grooves. Handle is a little hard to hold without them as it feels kinda slippery. The blade is great at chopping. If you use it on pine or any pitch-infused wood, the blade might catch and have the pitch stick to it a bit because of the texture on the blade. It has a good weight too. About 18oz. The 440 steel is not the best, but it does hold an edge with it, and 440 is relatively easy to sharpen. I'd say it's an 8 out of 10 knife is your on a budget but want something good!
Fentanyl is really dangerous, so are benzodiasapenes when you mix them with alcohol.
That is a great knife blade, but the waffle head hammer head tip on the butt is encased in plastic. It is not full tang. If you pound on it, it will shatter and break. Gerber. You should be ashamed of yourselves from making garbage putting it on the market. I hope someone sues the pants off you there ever using this shitty piece of equipment. Great blade shitty design shitty materials.
I love mine. After I got it, I realized I had a Kydex sheath that was for a Bark River Gunny Hunter I gave away. After heating up the Kydex over my stove, I was able to form fit the Pendleton Lite Hunter to it and it fits perfectly. Great little knives at an amazing price. Goes to show that you don't need to spend a lot of money for a quality blade.
@@jaimeleondelaparra3877 there awesome blades I use them and have them everywhere haha
I didn't know they still made this. I picked one up over 10 years ago for a camping trip and has done well with little rust issues.
It's not made no more
I have a two pack of these that are folders, they are decent beater knives that are pretty easy to sharpen.
I've got one of the folders as well. Carry it a lot because if I lose it, I don't really care. While it is easy sharpen, I find that it loses its edge really quickly. If this fixed blade is made with the same steel, it will probably have the same issue: takes and edge but won't hold it.
@@DudleyDawson the price you pay for a cheap folder.
@DudleyDawson if you want to try out the fixed blade version reach out to me
I have one too. Very rare. Mine has a leather sheath with pocket clip. Great knives.
Nice brother it's a cool piece
That is a cool knife combo
Except Waffle head hammerhead on the butt end of the knife is encased in plastic, not full tang. If used enough, it will break and shatter. BEWARE.
i like it bro , all your fixed blades are really cool there , but that biggest gerber is the best i.m.o. , you keep em coming , i love em all 1 million % and i will faithfully n forever support ya , thanks > tom !
I think that may be part of why it's called the survivalist... You're able to put stuff like matches and fishing line in it. Like the old-timey rambo one piece knives that are hold overs from the days of the Vietnam war.
Similar to Randal #1 - needs mass for edge and point thinking 8”
That a good one , both of them are actually. 😊
You really can't go wrong with the SRK series for the money. Good carbon steel, comfortable, grippy handles, decent sheaths, and a reasonable price. A guy could do way worse for a do-it-all knife.
I may pick that one up to join my Schrade Jethro I purchased a few years ago.
They have a new one but go for the old one lol
Good for $20👍
Just bought my 2nd one. Love the 90 degree spine which can throw sparks. This thing will bushcraft in a pinch. It's a no brainer must own knife. Beat it up, break it and then buy another.
Those bayonets are all over the Middle East. I brought some of those back from Iraq.
Nice they are all right ad them to your knife collection
hey brotha , great vid n content as always , i really like it n all your blads there , i am a blade collector n fan of them , i love the military/tactical line of blades myself being a u.s. military/marine vet 93' to 97' active , i will faithfully n forever support you , thanks n keep em coming > tom !
Hi do you have a favourite way of hand sharpening Bowie knife
@@tyronemorrissey4728 I tend to stick to wet stones simple mind you I have ruined knives in the past
Okay thanks
Bro, Where did you get it at? I gotta get one.
Chicago knife works but I just seen some on eBay
It would have been nice if they added metal snaps to the Velcro straps attaching the frog to the sheath.
@@Yankeepride03 i think your right but these knife companies know that there not going to be used in any real world conditions honestly but that is a good point I will be saying that on my next bayonet that I film from them
I have the same knife but with the black handle scales...Great knife, especially for the price.
Yep its a good knife I have 3 of them
@@royorkesjr.8386 3 of them my hats of to you sir
@@knife_123 yeah they're that good I bought 3 of them and another one I recommend is Mtech 086 a very underrated survival knife you should check it out I have 4 of those
I'm looking at the ASEK and I see two different versions. This green with the camo sheath and a black knife with green sheath. I'm trying to find out if there is a difference other than colors because right now the green I find for $150 ish but the black is $225 ish. I can't find anything to justify the huge price spread either. I'd also add that IF the ASEK is full tang and the butt cap is attached to the blade then it is not safe for cutting wires unless you keep your hand off the butt cap while cutting. I have the 499 and it's cool looking with the rough leather handle. If I were to actually carry it I think I'd smooth the leather a bit and treat it for water resistance.
@@mrweeby1961 there is no difference and the knife is rat tail tang you should be okay with both really depends on your flavor I would go for the black one as it would be more uncommon to see but if money is the issue then the green one would do great but if it's for collecting purposes then get any but for real life use I would say lmf or the prodigy lol there all great knives
@@knife_123 It's not for use, just add to the collection. I have the Strongarm, Seal Pup Elite and Ka-Bar USN Mk1 I would use over this ASEK, even the 499. I was just trying to find out why the big price difference and all I can see is green vs black handle and green vs camo sheath.
Crap steel for the price
You really think so folks swear by this knife but you could buy a knife with cpm for the same price
