Can I photoshop a video ?
0:59 it felt grainy days!!! I’m glad you called it.
Hi there Chris! Love the colors of your video Do you by any chance sell luts or offer grading tutorials?
I appreciate that! Thank you! Maybe I should do a video about that??
I feel the same, except for 50mm. Everyone always recommends a 50mm prime as first purchase, which I did. And it never felt great. Then as I got more lenses I realized it's a focal length I don't really see in.
For photo is perfekt but for video bigger screen is more easy 😊
I bought my 5d classic in July of 2023, and I like it. A lot. But that's not why I'm writing this comment. No. I'm commenting because this video took me home. I grew up in a Norman Rockwell painting, a small Maple-lined-street village in Michigan where our neighbor Bud Gilmour delivered our milk, where we played in the woods and fields and rode our bikes until the streetlights came on and we had to go inside for the night. Where I would lie on my back in the tick-free tall grass to watch the summertime clouds drift and dance and make bunnies and lions and... I like my 5d very much. But you took me home, to a distant time and place that is the very core of who I am, all these decades hence. And I'm grateful. Thank you Chris.
This might be the most meaningful and special I’ve ever gotten. Thank you for taking the time to say this, truly.
Thanks for sharing 👍 When you were talking about writing blog posts on local wedding venues, it got me thinking. I wonder if you could magnify the results by adding videos about each venue? Then embed the videos at the top of each blog post. UA-cam videos can also show up high in search results. Like maybe put an action camera on a backpack strap, harness, or a phone on your camera. Then record voice-over narration afterward to share some behind-the-scenes details. Besides the SEO benefits, videos could really show potential clients that you know the wedding venues well. That can be very appealing when choosing a wedding photographer.
So true. It’s so important that your heart is in it. We paid nearly 10k to get our wedding photographer over here and you can tell from the photos that she phoned it in. It’s one of the most important days of someone’s life. You gotta take that responsibility seriously. So many great tips bro. I honestly miss shooting weddings.
Let’s do a reshoot with your wardrobe when I’m in Calgary in December
YES! Yes! Blog! I love that you’re sharing about the venues and that it brought you a booking. Social media is great, but it’s important to build on your own site.
Btw my favourite is still the Sigma DP3 Merrill. Small, light, insane build quality and design for a plastic camera. And the image quality... Very problematic camera, but still fun for a hobbyist.
My first camera was a 20D. But the sensor is so old..., I could get better results with a super cheap Sigma DP2s. Still miss the ergonomic though.
It depends on your niche. If you want to post short films, you need to introduce them slowly. It depends what your prioritise in life are to be honest. If you know what you want, just do it! You have the skill to do whatever and get to wherever you want.
I got an XH2s because I needed a monster
c'mon you know what we are really interested in.... show that beautiful red and white cat behind!
For most people YES. You’ll still be able to make a ton of money with just an iPad .
DaVinci on MacBook Pro or MacStudio 💻👍🏽. Absolutely no issues.
That was soo coool Chris!!
Thank you!! It was so fun to make.
Such a cool video …that’s really cheered me up - I,ve owned this camera twice in the past ..not really sure why I sold twice in the past ? ..it’s delivers simple ,honest images with proper colours ..I’m going to buy one again …Thankyou Benj
Z8 - undoutedly brilliant £2500-£2800 I'll wait till it's £1500, used
I would argue BlackMagic is the best ever at simple menus.
Agree! Editing on iPad is getting frustrating due to the small screen! Thank you so much, you’ve helped me to make the decision to go for a laptop. Will miss touch screen though. That is what is holding me back and considering a Dell but now Dell has only one lap with touchscreen, highest priced.
45 minutes in and loved every second of it. So stoked it worked out bro! Ever since I saw that backstage photo I was wondering if you were able to snap it.
This was a wonderful adventure, but I am sad that more Outback Steakhouses weren't featured. Hah this was wild though
Start the vegan food channel already. Jesus Christ!
Seriously…
This is exactly my issue right now. I have a 5 year old Macbook Pro and use Lightroom and Capture 1 for my photo edits as I shoot with Fuji and Ricoh cameras. I like the concept of portability an ipad would bring, but by the time I've added in the extras the weight and price point ramps up quickly. I can't afford to take a £1000 punt. Difficult decision! Why add functionality on a mobile/tabletapp when it adds to cost and cannibalises potential laptop. Makes no sense from a tech provider perspective!
This is such a great video. I love it. Congrats dude. A small win, a win with an asterisk, whatever that win is. It's still a win!
hell ya brother
you're nuts dude. Love it. DEFINITELY a success.
I’m so so so so proud of you! What an incredible adventure. You’re so inspiring 💛
You did the damn thing! So cool to see the whole journey. Congrats Chris!
I want to know if iPad Pro is a good option to make my UA-cam thumbnail? Thanks bro ❤
You would be way happier if you will use it on RAW and use at least 50mm F1.4
Not a big fan of the canon 50mm f/1.4. The sigma is lovely but very big. The point of this camera for me is to have a fun camera to take on dog walks and family outings. Something that gives pretty pictures without any work that feel nostalgic for me. A big lens and shooting raw takes that away from me. Turns it into another work camera, which is what my R5 is for
@@Christellezphoto I have both cameras too. Sigma F1.4 could have focusing issues. My client never know what camera i use for my session. My main point is to be well above the cell phone level photography and have 3 dimensional photos. .
I purchased the 5D new in 2005 with kit 24-105L for over $3000 , still have it. I recently purchased 2 more 5D bodies for $30 each in mint condition. Time may have changed the cost but it didn't change a great camera.
Which one do you recommend? Microsoft surface 9 pro iPad air M2 I Paid pro M2 And other options if there's
Why are you doing this to yourself man? Please buy a laptop. You have enough use thousand bucks extra should not be a problem for you. I feel for you. Peace.
Hi Chris, thanks for the video. I am doing more video on a hobby scale and up to now have been shooting photography with an XE-4, XT-5 and X-H2. With getting more into video I am thinking to either leave Fuji for the video part with a real video camera (i.e. Canon, Red) and having two different sets for video/photography or sticking with the Fuji eco system (although the rigging and de-rigging is annoying). Quality wise I most likely never will need the RED or a new C80, as I am doing this as a hobby and don't need to earn money with it. So I want to decide on another body, maybe a X-H2S and maybe sell the XT-5 and can still use all my lenses. In photography it was also annoying to cary the X-H2 and XT-5 and switching between different interfaces.
This was too funny. I can’t see anything but 35. Then again been sooting one for 34 years, a v4 cron. That said, wanna pick up an R5 but need to vet this 35 first 😎. Just here for the 35….and auto focus. Like the vid also.
things has changed with M4 iPads. On iPad you can use the full version of DaVinci. Editing Page… everything possible :)
They literally could just put Mac OS into their laptops. But the whole reason why they took the headphone jack off their phones, is so they could sell you their Airpods. Same logic for iOS $ Mac OS.
Been a fan of Lumix (GH5) and using the S5iix since its initial release up to now and happy with it. But to be honest, seeing Sony being hyped up all over youtube constantly makes me think of buying a Sony or switching to even just an a6700. The key factor thats making me stay with Lumix besides the stabilization is open gate. Question is, will sony introduce open gate to their next release (e.g. A7V)? Because if they do, that might finally make me jump ship.
That's so true. Thanks for your video. I bought a iPad Air M1 last year, because I was going to University for another year. Good Notes performs well on the iPad and I also can read all the books from the University on my iPad. That was great! But, then I want to do more with this powerful device. I try Stage Manager - it was a nightmare. I try to do some light photo editing. It was okay, but not even close to the experience with my Mac Mini. I also try to work with Office. All Microsoft Office apps like Teams, Excel and Powerpoint are very limited on the iPad. Now i finish my exam in April this year. And the iPad is now just a Netflix movie machine. At for that use case, it feels like overpriced.
That black and white is soooo cleeeeaaaan brother!
The 35mm is a great focal length. However, I find the 50mm a really complicated length and really struggle with it!
I love mine! It’s battered, dented and the mirror is superglued in after it fell out. I usually shoot it with a 35mm f1.4, but your video has made me consider the smaller 40mm f2.8. You’re right though, it loves light. The files are a dream to edit, and it’s ‘just’ a photo camera. No frills. Slow and steady. Great vid - Hope to see more!
Think the only way to do it is to make the content you want. Even with all the analytics at your disposal that doesn't help the fun and motivational side of things. I'm just about to start this new channel and I've already made a promise to myself not to really do gear reviews. I'll talk about the stuff I'm using occasionally, but never an actual review because I'm not interested in them. But I know not doing reviews will slow my potential progress. Like all things in life, it's a balance, and I choose to just make the video's I want and accept slower growth.
I also have a 4 gen and 11 Inch 😂
Nice video. I bought the D30 when it first came out, then the 10D, then the 5D in 2005. I stopped there because it just felt like the right one for me. It still does nearly 20 years later. Wishing you success.
This is going to be amazing! Tim! Let Chris borrow the lens!!
I just texted him. No way dude, how dare you! Jk let it rip. I’ll be cheering you on.

Goodnotes!
