    I have been wondering a lot about the heatproperties of the upper sub-surface of the moon for like 30 years, so thanks for this introduction. One of my pet fantasies is about building an autonomous solardriven heat-powerplant on the moon. So if the upper surface layer is a good heat isolator, I guess you could use it to temporary store the energicarrier of the system in the periodic cold nights.. Maybe a bit harder to use it as a heatsink tho.. so I guess its back to shaded radiators for that one.. 🤔 (also i know this is not wery relevant to the ongoing interests in the southpole region..)

      I’m a big space buff and have watched countless videos on Apollo 13 but I feel your kids may be a bit lost and lose interest from this one. It’s a series of old clips and interviews without a story that would captivate young minds without prior knowledge of what actually happened. Even I’m thinking this video is a bit all over the place. I’d look in to other videos that explain the situation better (with the same or similar footage).

    • @buckynance
      @buckynance Місяць тому

      @@TheScottbb1 I get it. Kids today don't understand being amazed by things like this. However, I do have some kids that would find it interesting. I just finished showing the movie, 'The Fighting Sullivans'. There were a few that were not interested and there were some that even mocked through some of the serious parts of it. But I can tell you that when the message was delivered to the family, the room was deafly quiet. As I began to summarize to my classes about this being a true story, there was one that was playing with something in front of him on his desk. I told the whole class that men like this and tens of thousands of others didn't die so you could play with toys in class, talk and laugh and draw and other things to distract you and others in class. They died to ensure you live in a free society and so forth. The kid with the toy approached me after class with his eyes filling with tears and told me that he was sorry for doing so. I told him "Thank you, it takes a mature young man to do what you just did. You are going to be a fine young man moving forward if you can continue to admit your faults when they happen and learn from them." He gave me a hug and wished me a good weekend. Kids can surprise you sometimes.
