      I installed this on a brand new car for about 6 months (my son had his learner's permit and I hadn't gotten him a vehicle yet). We have now taken it out of my car and installed it in a 2009 Audi A4. He will be driving along and all of the sudden a loud clanking noise happens for just a few second on and off and he can feel it right under the pedal. Have you had anything like this happen? @@aliludovico

    These Ricon lifts are the best. I prefer them over the Braun millenium any day. The ricons are so much quieter than the brauns. Does the ricon use hydrolics to bring the platform down to the ground? Reason i ask is because i dont hear the motor running while traveling down, but i do hear it while traveling up. The braun lifts you can hear the motor bring it down as well as up. If the ricons use hydrolics to bring platform down, then thats a great advantage as you are not waisting your vans battery as much. I know hydrolic elevators work same way. You have a loud ride going up as its using the motor to push tbe cylinder up to push elevator up shaft, but going down, the ride is so quiet. You can barely hear the air being exhausted from the cylinder. So no motor operation going down, but motor operation going up.

    Thank you so much for this video I wanted to ask you 2 questions I hope you can reply. 1. Is possible to change just the sealing and not the whole nuts of the cilinder? And in case where I can buy the k series cylinder sealing? 2. I found very hard to put the cilinder back because of the pressure. As a workaround I just loose the oil pimp on the cylinder so all the remaining oil and air in each cylinder was out. Then I was able to put the cilinder back in and in the first 3 run waited the cylinders system o refill it with oil. I haven't done the manual procedure and even understand what is the purpose of that. Have I done something wrong? 3. Can I refill with ATF hydraulic type oil? I am not a professional i am just a parent of a special need child trying to fix this k serie lift buying some sealing. I appreciate your feedback.

    • @aliludovico
      @aliludovico 4 роки тому

      I would change all seals just so u don't have 2 do the process twice like doing a waterpump without doing timing parts u can order from ricon or a ricon dealer forgot the type of oil check the manual to see the proper type of fluid

    • @lucadiscala7027
      @lucadiscala7027 4 роки тому

      @@aliludovico wow that was a quick reply I appreciate. What do you mean by timing part and waterpump 🤔. The work execution time is pretty much the same whether you replace the cylinder nuts or just the sealing but the price of just the sealing is very cheap compared to the whole set. Unfortunately one of the sealing (the outer one and the most important) that I bought was a bit deeper so could not fit into the cylinder back (so I had to put the old one back again). What is missing in your video is the part when you put the cylinder back... Basically the part where I had more doubt because of the positive pressure (opposite to the suction pressure when you remove the cylinder). I solved by loosing the bolt close to the oil hose on each cylinder. How did you do that part ? Most important after this work, I notice a strange behaviour. Basically if I don't use for a couple of days the lift, when I deploy I hear the usual 'unlock' noise but it doesn't not deploy unless I pull the lift a bit toward me when I press deploy. This problem doesn't happen when I use the lift multiple times during the day. Do you have a suggestion? Can be some air trapped in the oil system? Thanks and sorry to bother.. Ps.. Do you know online dealer for this k series sealing.?

    I had some friends set one up in my 73 Ford Econoline, I wired it up, been using it for years, had to repair the socket for the remote, added ubolts to secure it, kept pulling lose, refusing to work, I have no safety switches, just that stupid seat belt, gonna cross that out soon so I don't have it on the arm. These lifts are fantastic, durable, so long as there is minimal electronics on it for long term trouble free use. Mine was made in 1995, it needs the springs replaced, I have to pull it out, but I can't replace them myself, nor can I afford to get them replaced at a shop. I put the circuit breaker in the floor by my lift, there is a blade fuse or two under the plastic cover over the motor housing, only thing to interrupt operation for me was the breaker tripped.

    Thank you for making these UA-cams. I’m a caregiver for my parents and we have 2 Ricon lifts. We use 1 in a van, and 1 on the porch to get dad around having to climb the stairs. Both are used, so I’m trying to figure things on my own. The one in the van has been trouble free, the one on the porch I’m having some trouble with. I think it sat outside awhile, as working the lift seems to help. The switches seem sticky. I need to know is there a sequence to adjust the deploy, down, up, stow, stop switches. I also want to adjust the lift platform to be a little more level, as it gives my parents an uneasy feeling as they start to go up. I think my lifts are 1997 - 1998 era lifts, S series. I’ll keep watching your channel, it’s a valuable learning source. Thank you for your efforts on making this information available.
