    Whejn they ask questions and we lie to them, are you sure that they dont know we are lying about mother going shopping? Also, what other kind of questions they ask ?

    My husband with Alzheimers in Memory Care needs a blood draw to check Depakote levels. He will not let the nurse do this job. He yells, swears, slams the wall, breaks things. How do we/they get him to comply?

      Can they give him a calming or sedating medication first? Also use some anesthetic cream to numb the area perhaps?

      @@ecopley9013 thanks for your interest. Finally the nurse came again and I was there and coaxed him into have the blood draw on the same day as the flu and covid shots. It took a look of coercing. Months later, he has been given Xanax to help with continuing anger for showers. Not a good situation at all!!

    Thank you for this video. It has great information in it! I’m a healthcare worker and have been working with dementia patients for 3 years now. Before working with seniors I had no experience with the disease. It really is different for each individual who suffers with it, which makes it tricky to help them.

    What would somebody suggest for when a patient in hospital thinks they are in their own home, which happens all the time. They think other patients are in their house or they keep getting up to find their bedroom. I try not to contradict their reality but im not sure on how to reassure them when they are in such a strange environment

    Great educational video. One thing I did notice is that the stretcher used to demonstrate the use of this device is a Stryker Rugged which is not on the list of approved ambulance Cots shown at the end of the video.

    • @southcentralambulanceeduca9046
      @southcentralambulanceeduca9046 6 років тому

      Thank you for your comment. Our risk department has covered this issue with Ferno. This video shows the principle of how to fit the device and other associated info. The stretcher in the video has a similar structure to the Ferno stretchers and can be fitted in exactly the same way. The South Central Ambulance Service will not be held responsible for any training other than that given by its own Training and Education Department. Please view this video as information on equipment availability to convey paediatrics on ambulances. This video forms part of a bigger training package for our employees. Thanks for your comment
