VW GOLF GTI EDITION 30 Review - Hot Hatch Classic?
Hi to your list I would add Ford Focus and Ford Focus zetec engined. Really well built and better ride than VW. One of other factors to consider is price of parts. Ford parts are particularly cheap.
Not. Worth it
thank you so much!!
Do same civic vs 2.0 mini cooper s
Almost all kind handbrakes tends to rust with time (specially for us who live in north Europe cuz of snow and salt), wondering how much it will cost to repair/ change an automatic parking brake?? Is it really worth it to make a simple working tool like a handbrake to a very complicated one??. I am really happy with my 13 yrs old RAV4..EVERYTHING EASY TO FIX.
Just more problems that are not needed
paying 30k for a car with primitive tech is just nonsense imo, unless it's a classic or sports car
What about the aygo?
I've got a BMW 320 2014 F30 three series, I've had the car a year and don't know how to operate them, but on my e92 is was the same as this video, any help please?
Careful. The balancer chain snaps on these and wraps up an destroys the engine
I can’t even praise you on this one, you did it all wrong
plus the tune which will be somewhere between 500 to 1000 euro
Tune is not 1000 euro.
good good
Is the cat still there?
ok dude, 99% of that 1 second gain comes from the fact that you don't have to shift to 3rd thanks to the higher rev limit. comparing apples to oranges here
are you testing a difference between 0-60 or the power within OEM rev range?
@@Christian--- both. The higher rev limit effectively gives it a longer gear ratio. Same scenario as the new Type-R. FL5 is faster to 100kmh than the FK8 because it doesn't need to shift to 3rd thanks to its longer gearing & smaller wheels. Also if you go frame by frame and compare the 0-67kmh (the top speed with stock rev limit) they're pretty much the same at 3.4s
The FN2 is so ugly.
Thank you for the information!
That reserve amount is easy 120km still
2nd hand parts tho.. price those parts up brand new
This is my dream car
The stock one is already really fast
EP3 shifts quite well even in stock form
They sound great and thats about it. If it's a mk5 you want go for the Edition 30 instead. Its cheaper to run and maintain and much more tunable. It also handles better. My advice is buy a facelift Mk2 Leon Cupra over them both. Much more car for the money.
It's like a Mk5 GTi except with unnecessary extra weight from the Haldex system and heavy engine in the front. Making them no faster than the GTi, handle considerably worse with numb steering and also way more expensive to run. They're still cheap because they're just not very good. If you want a mk5 Golf buy the GTi. If you want something unique with a bigger engine then buy anything else because it'll be better.
Some specialist advice from someone who has clearly never driven a R32. Price for a R32 in the EU is times 4/5 to a GTI.
Not sure which R32 you've been looking at but it's certainly not 4 or 5 times more then a gti. Plenty of R32s sold for 4 to 5k on ebay. Not an expensive car to buy here in the UK. Oh, and yes, I have driven one.
Yes i agree. However this video isn't about why an r32 is better then a GTI - it's based on my experience of why people still choose to buy the r32 today and I think the points mentioned in the video (engine, exhaust note etc etc) are probably the most common reasons why people buy an r32.
@@martijnreekmans6171 I have driven the R32 of both the mark 4 and mark 5 generations. They are mediocre hot hatches with at least a dozen better alternatives. Have you even driven a mark 5 GTi? They are so much better, sharper and more fun. They are also far quicker for less money. It's very simple to tune the turbocharged engine only mildly and the R32 is left for dead while preserving all the other advantages the GTi has.
@@carswithmoh If you want the specific engine the alternatives are yet again superior. TT is a sports car in a timeless body. The Corrado is a coupe. They put it in the Leon, the A3, the Bora, the Jetta etc etc. It was never really a special engine. The noise vastly outstrips the pace unfortunately. I think as packages, as future classics and simply as cars that are fun to drive the Alfa 147 GTA is light years ahead of the R32. If you buy a Golf of this era it's the GTi or nothing
Hello i have seat leon 1.5 tsi evo dynamic 2019..can u help.me how to adjust the acc distance ...thanks

Under £1000 means, I pay that and the car is mine, no monthly payments or anything like that? 😅🤔 Right?
💘 Promo*SM
Thanks for that 👌 bye bye from Italy 😉 next week I will try to change the sensor… 💪🏼
Agree about Vauxhall's I had an 05 1.7cdti astra in a year of having it I had aa out 5 times nothing but trouble rear brakes seized on egr valve blown fuses broken coil springs only good thing they don't rust as they were galvanized from factory. 😢😅
Hi Moh, I have 5 grand to spend. I need economy and reliability and with a quality interior and quietish on Motorways (thinking Japanese). I am not a petrol head, I will not use it for short trips much. What would you recommend?
Hi, I would say go with a mk8 or even a mk9 honda civic. Petrol engines in both are very reliable and deliver decent mpg on the motorway. No turbo, dpf or expensive dual mass flywheels to worry about. If you want a little more punch then civic also comes in a 2.2 - ctdi and i-dtec both very torquey engine and will give you very good mog on the motorway. Tbh if you won't be using it very much for short journeys then I'd say you can go for both 1.8 petrol or diesel engines. Just ensure when you buy one maintenance is up to date.
@@carswithmoh Thank you, I heard the Mk9 has a few problems and I prefer the face lift version of Mk8 2009-2011. The 2.2 unfortunately only comes as a manual gearbox. I have seen many conflicting views on the iShift semi, but the Full auto is 5mpg less economic and £90 more tax. I have seen that the brushes wear out on the iShift Actuator motors, but there's a garage in Harrow that replaces the brushes for £750 and also other places that do this. There are a lot of iShift Civics and Jazz cars around, and the iShift is a manual with auto clutch, whereas the Auto is a CVT which has its own problems. On Honda Civic forums, people say there isn't a problem with iShift but you need to get used to it and lay off the gas when you're changing up just like on a manual. Many call the transmission the i💩but no-one says what the reliability is as,a percentage of all CVTs sold to all iShifts. Apparently semi autos were created to combat CO2 emissions and so each car brand have their own versions including Toyota, BMW etc.
I've got a leg injury so only autos for me; thinking about an Auris Hybrid or a Civic 2010 Auto (the iShift is way more economical, is it really that bad for reliability considering it seems there are more out there)
Hi, no of course not. My emphasis was on reliability - auto will always be that little more unreliable then its manual counterpart. Civic in general is a very reliable car.
@@carswithmoh Thanks for taking the time to reply, so to clarify, iShift is not that bad? Which in your opinion is a better option; an Auris/Prius or a Gen 8 Civic?
@delatronics3257 totally depends on what your requirements are and what engine your looking. I personally would go for the gen8 civic saying that Prius isn't a bad should either - I covered that in a previous video too.
@@delatronics3257I had a gen 8 civic 2011 manual.I didn't find it a nice car to drive.I traded it in a month ago for a 2015 auto Mazda 3 which is a lovely drive. We also have a Mada 3 2007 which is much nicer to drive than the civic. If you buy a civic check for water in the boot ,it's very common.I imagine the Auris would be nice too.
iShift is a semi-automatic gearbox and generally they are rubbish. Go fo proper automatic gearbox
I have ta 2007 8th gen civic 1.4 dsi, 46k miles, can confirm that rust is a problem. got it 3 years ago with minor rust in 1 door seal, it was a garage car, now it is outside and the top of the windshield started to rust, and in other places
Great value
Corolla only after 2006, before that they had oil burning issues. Also some corollas are made in Japan so look out for the right serial
Same for the yaris
If an Audi driver is MORE safe than you you're a menace to society.
Firstly 500000 miles is approximately to the moon and back l am glad you included a Toyota why not more Toyota's after all they are very reliable cars also the Mercedes Benz 300D they will do well over 500000 miles also in Australia the taxi drivers use the the Toyota Prius Camery Hybrid and the RAV4 Hybrid as l have a reasonably high kilomatridge vehicle my 1997 Toyota Hilux so far done only 437000 kilometres it's been to the moon and on its way back and there are Honda's other Toyota's that have done over 1000000 miles
BS
Hard to argue with any of your comments here, even though none of them would be my choice of car anyway. The only really decent BMW's were the ones with the 2.5 litre inline 6, and the diesels prior to around 2005/2006, I think. Range Rovers are notoriously unreliable money pits. Bentleys hugely expensive originally, and just money pits if you buy a cheap one. Mazda diesels, enough said. All Vauxhalls are disposable/throwaway cars. At 100, 000 miles, all the wheels fall off !
Our Mazda 6 diesel has been totally reliable 144k with nothing more than routine maintenance. What's your source of information?
That's great to know and hopefully stays reliable for you you too. Without even going into any statistical data/website - a simple Google search specifically for the skyactive diesel engine will verify the issue mentioned. It is a very well known unreliable engine
My Mazda 6 diesel did 175000 miles and it was a brilliant car, serviced by main dealer but then the oil Pressure light started coming on. Oil starvation was to blame, probably would have cost around £1500 to fix it. Maybe if I’d known about this problem I could have done more to prevent it 😔
My Mazda 2013 6's timing chain failed at 65,000 miles causing engine failure. Brake calipers all failed, fold in mirrors stopped working and the turbo failed. It basically fu**ed me in the you know what financially.
@@danhamjam was it a diesel or gasoline model?
Are they easy to work on for the D.I.Y mechanic?
Yes fairly easily to work on. Most diy projects for these engines can be found online too
Eggegrgrgryr
That is nice.
Great vid Mo thanks for sharing. Please make more like this iA. Curious to know your thoughts on the following: The wheel clamp shown at the end could be circumvented by the thief removing the tire and replacing it with another?
Thanks brother for your comment. Your right that is possible - as with all the hardwares mentioned, if a thief really wanted your car, they'll find a way to bypass it. However, the main purpose I would say is to make it as difficult as possible for any potential thief and to deter them away. Ghost alarm is probably the best all-rounder.
Good information
Good information mate
Glad it was useful
Great video bro
Hey, thanks for the comment and glad you enjoyed it.
I agree Renaults good BMW a disaster my daughter and grandson both had BMW's both had n47 engine one was an m both had timing chain failure there no warning it's like a light bulb failure sudden on Futher in vestagtoin poor design fault the plastic nosal that feeds both chains feed holes are to small an can sludge up and block resulting in what happens
Very useful - thanks
Glad it was helpful
You forgot to mention the Rover 75 with the M47R engine (BMW) These can do 750k without using a drop of oil even one original timing chain ⚠️
