Welcome to my channel! I’m Xan, I’m 23 years old, I’m a college student, and I have an undiagnosed disability that causes paralytic episodes (among other symptoms). Here, I focus on education about my disabilities and health conditions and how those affect me in my daily life. I’m just getting started, so I don’t know how else this channel will evolve and grow, but I hope you’ll stick around with me to find out!
Just a Rant About SSD
Just some thoughts and stuff about my upcoming hearing. Been wanting to get this all off my chest.

Disability Topic: Things I Miss

Here’s a somewhat lighthearted chat about a few things I miss about being able-bodied. Questions, comments, and video requests are always welcome, but as always please be respectful! 😊 CC soon to come!
Disability Topic: Being Undiagnosed

Just some rambling thoughts about being undiagnosed. The video I had planned for today isn't cooperating, so here's this one to tide you over until I can figure it out.
Disability Topic: Getting Ready In The Morning

IMPORTANT: Please note that near the beginning of this video I make a comment about "becoming truly disabled" in reference to the difference between when I was in grade school versus now. I realize that it sounds like I'm saying my chronic pain wasn't a disability or maybe that chronic pain isn't a disability but that's not at all how I intended that statement to sound. Chronic pain can absolut...
Pregnancy/Life/Health Update - January 2019
Переглядів 505 років тому
Finally, this video that I’ve been trying to do for the past two months, ugh... Anyway, have an update! Hopefully there will be more coming in the nearish future...(I say that with as much optimism as I can muster, lol.) Edit, Jan. 2019: So, I realized after having skimmed over my older videos that a lot of things have changed that I didn't address in this video. I'll be posting another video g...
Pregnancy Update for August
Переглядів 376 років тому
Description will be added once I get my laptop out. :) Update, Jan. 2019: So I completely forgot to actually add a description for this thing, ugh. I'll need to go back and watch it to remember what all I said, and I know there are things that definitely need to be corrected because a lot's happened since this video went live. See my recent videos for more up-to-date information! :)

Sorry it’s been a little while! Anyway, here’s my update. I promise I haven’t fallen off the map. I’ll add more here when I get on my laptop again; I don’t have the energy to type it all on my phone. Please check back soon for more info!
Out of the Hospital Update
Переглядів 206 років тому
This is my out of the hospital update. I have some big news to share that I got while I was in the hospital that I didn't quite want to talk about yet, so I discussed that here. I also talked about some upcoming video ideas and I've had a few suggestions from friends that I plan on doing but haven't gotten around to yet. Anyway, comments and questions are always welcome, but please remember to ...
ER Experience - May 27-28 2018
Переглядів 426 років тому
Okay, so, I recently went to the ER and had a less-than-fabulous experience. I chose not to talk about some of the things that made it less-than-fabulous because they're very personal and I'm not ready to reveal those things yet. Anyway I chose this opportunity to play around with my new phone and the editing software that came with it. I think it turned out decently, and I will probably be rec...
Ramadan Taraweeh Experience
Переглядів 1136 років тому
I was invited to the masjid last night by a friend of mine for a night of Ramadan, and I learned so much! As promised, here are some of the terms that I couldn't remember or wasn't sure on: Taraweeh (or tarawih): nightly prayers performed by Muslims during the month of Ramadan Rakat (or rak'ah): the prescribed positions taken during prayers that consists of standing to listen to the prayer (or ...
Be Educated Before Forming an Opinion
Переглядів 246 років тому
Some distressing things happened recently with my boyfriend's family, so I thought it would be a good idea to stress the importance of being educated before forming an opinion. If y'all have questions or comments, feel free to drop it into the comments section down below. As always, please remember to be respectful in the way you word things! :)
Person-First vs Identity-First Language
Переглядів 156 років тому
I stumbled upon this topic about two months ago, so I thought I'd do a video on it. This is a super important topic within the disabled community, and this is just my opinion on it. Not a lot of the disabled people I've watched or listen to or read their posts share my particular stance, but I think each side has important things to say about the topic. As always, questions and comments are muc...
Tips For Interacting With Disabled People
Переглядів 366 років тому
This one was suggested to me by a friend, so of course I had to oblige. I'm always open to suggestions of videos you guys would like to see, even if it's not related to disability! If y'all have any questions, feel free to leave them in the comments section below! As always, be respectful in the way you word things! :)
Why I Wear Hijab
Переглядів 796 років тому
A frequently asked question that I get a LOT is, "Xan, why do you wear hijab? Are you Muslim?" So besides having a friend of mine ask me to do a video on this, I figured it was time to tell the world about my reasons for wearing hijab! Now that I've introduced the fact that I do wear hijab often, I will start doing videos where I am wearing it because I like wearing my hijab (and/or tichel) and...
What Are Triggers and Trigger Warnings?? Some Good Info For The General Public!
Переглядів 46 років тому
Hey cuties! This was a video requested by a friend who wanted to be more aware of what triggers were, how to talk about them without accidentally causing distress, and how to properly tag things with trigger warnings. So, as I am a servant of the people, I have delivered! If you guys have any other questions or need clarification, please feel free to drop me a comment and I will do my best to p...

Chronic pain can absolutely be a disability; what I was meaning here is that for me it wasn't as hindering to me back then as my current disability is to me now. Sorry for the confusion!
you're doing great!
I hope these videos are therapeutic for you. I'm sure that someone that needs to hear these things will watch these someday and it'll have a positive impact on them. Random people like me will stumble upon your channel and will definitely be supportive of your story. =]
Thank you, that means so much to me! Doing these videos certainly has been therapeutic for me, and I hope it will be for others who happen across them. Thank you for stopping by to comment; your kind words are very uplifting. :)
I find people are quick to speak out when they disagree or have something negative to say... Not enough people speak up when there's something positive to point out. You've got an awesome perspective on things, and you're informative and funny at the same time. =D
I'm glad you find me funny! I try to be entertaining with my body language and word choices, so I'm glad I'm meeting that goal. Thank you so much for sharing your perspective with me as well!
