I'm really into tinkering and changing rules in solo RPGs just like you mentioned in this. It's my favourite part of solo RPGs and it's why I like them so much. I have a goal with Delve to make little art cards for each building and cavern type. Maybe tarot sized cards for the caverns and then playing card sized cards for the overlays of structures and stuff.

There was one rule mistake: you can loot the lava glyph tiles only once per tile. It didn't matter in this playthrough though. I enjoyed the video, gg guys!

I play “Dungeon!“ with my 8 year old son, he enjoys it. The exploration dungeon gameplay mixed battling monsters collecting loot all nice. We are looking for something similar with monsters, attributes are more fixed vs random rolls and can coop monster battles, still dungeon exploration and fight some last boss it lose etc.

I just bought Monster Rangers RPG, I heard about it from the creator in an interview he just did recently. I got my copy of the player's guide and the Warden's guide yesterday.

Be neat to see it converted to another system.

I know I’m 3 years late here but I checked in on the patreon because I couldn’t find it on DTRPG and it hasn’t been delivered on and it appears that the creator ran off with all the backers money. Another sad case of people backing a promising vision and it never manifesting.

The benefit of fast, concise, to-the-point, and intentionally incomplete rules is that they both get players started quickly and retain a certain amount of content to explore on their own, which will spark interest. Players can learn the game and start adventuring in a matter of minutes, from understanding the rules to understanding the story.😊

question ! as we start on the 2 of hearts, do we get a key card right off the bat? you say we start with 4 medpacks, but that's it...

Thank you for suggesting this one. I am a huge fan of TinyD6, EZD6 and all the other rules light d6 games, but this is now my go to. It is now up on drivethrurpg if anyone is looking for it.

Question. What happens if you use a stimpacknto move through already revealed hallways?. When I played I did not use them how you used them, I just returned them to the medpack pile. The rule book doesn't actually say lay them down, it says the extra space are considered hallways and not turned face up when you pass through them. I assumed this meant if you pass through hallways face down either by placing station cards or passing over already placed station cards they would not be revealed by this extra move. But that's how I read the rules.

This was a good, but the title is misleading. Most games that claim 2D6 actually require you to add D6. The only game I have encountered that allows you to play with 2D6, without adding or subtracting dice, that I have encountered is Tunnel Goons. When you start having to use cards, or add dice it takes away from the simplicity For me, adding dice is deal breaker, because I own a 2D6 dice popper.

Any chance for a shout out for 'Roll for Fire: a Prehistoric Tabletop RPG' - I don't think it's going to make its funding goal - which'll be sad for a game where Players get to be an archaic human, (ex: Neanderthal, Flores Man, etc.) - and - reading between the lines - Homo Sapiens might well be one of their Antagonists

Several years ago my boyfriend started feeling nostalgic for HeroQuest and we went to the board game shops looking to buy something similar if we could. We found Wrath of Ashardalon and brought it home. We fell in love with it and played it with all our friends. That got us hooked on board games and now we have a huge collection, but Wrath of Ashardalon and the other D&D Adventure System games remain our favourites. Now we have the new HeroQuest and I look forward to playing it and seeing what it was like when the whole thing began. We're in Australia but were able to preorder the Mythic Tier set through EB Games, and now the game and the expansions are available in retail stores here as well, so I think everything worked out well in the long run.

Where is the board of Hero Quest modular? It is one big printed board instead of modular dungeon tiles. I wish they improved and modernized the game instead of a 1:1 re-print…

Ohh I hate when the artwork is from different artists in one game. And it's not like cards from this and board from another, it's mixed cards! That would totally annoy me for ever. :( I was thinking about getting it cheaper on ebay but now I'm not sure anymore.
