This movie is important. I'll probably receive hate for this but being attracted to kids is a sexuality. Most pedophiles never even touched a kid or watched CSEM, they are not the same as child molesters. This is something we need to talk about because if we were more open to this, pedophiles could talk about it and the chance of a kid being molested and a person committing suicide would be far more less likely.

They should have been made a movie like this long time ago. Many children could of been saved by the signs of Child Molesters or Pedophiles.

Some will say this movie victimizes pedophile however it was pretty moving. If you liked this video I recommend "The Hunt" as well. Probably Walter's case is seemingly insignificant to what child molesters do and yet he receives 12 years with parole with one strike. To be specific, he did 12 years for sniffing little girls' hair. Except some true psychos out there, i think pedophilia is developed on early ages. I say many of the cases are from bad parenting or innocent curiosity among siblings on early ages. And as the movie shows.. people do not change.. I'm not really sure what the director wanted to truly say in this movie. Probably it was about a pedophile who finally gets over the urges and find himself normal again. In the last scene, he beat the shit out of child molester badly and somewhat the child molester reflects Walter for a moment as if he is beating himself to death. I think he's remorse was hitting the peak. Overall, it was good movie. 9/10

people who are attracted to children should castrate themselves. pedophilia is NEVER going to be ok. sex between an adult and child is never going to be legal. so what is the use in having that genital reminder of what you can never use?? get rid of it. this would solve the problem. for your own protection, go get castrated.

This is a very interesting film and BY FAR the best acting Kevin Bacon has ever done. I honestly never thought much of him as an actor either way (he wasn't horrible, but he was neither that good) until I saw this movie. He is excellent in it. It was a travesty when he didn't get nominated for best actor. Even after all the years I"ve seen it still pisses me off how under appreciated his performance is.

If only Dame Dash got paid from UA-cam views he might be in a better position

There is a huge difference between child molesters and pedophiles. Pedophiles have the tendency of attracting to children, when child molesters (many of them are NOT even pedophiles) are those that practice it. Anyway, they will be treated the same when they are locked up-the bottom of the prison hierarchy.

It is a good film because it displays both sides of the coin of pedophiles, those that are aware how wrong it is and want to be cured and those that enjoy and want to do it. Unfortunately it is still is a taboo subject (as it always has been) that people refuse to speak about (unsurprisingly as it is a difficult topic) They need to be locked up in facilities, analysed and treated but because of the unawareness and lack of funds - many are released in order to make room for new offenders.

Reading some of these comments, it looks like there are a bunch of creeps on here as well. If you're going to try and stick up for pedophiles which is really gross than you probably shouldn't be putting that in the comments as it makes you stand out in not so great way.

Well a lot of times in movies, they give the actors playing the pedophile a certain look. Either a creepy mustache, a weird comb over hairstyle kind of like what the did to Kevin Bacon which does make him look creepier.

I remember an epiosde of SVU that covered this issue, but at the time SVU's quality kinda sucked. But if a person out there knows he's got this problem that he's looking at kids the way no grown man/woman should be looking at kids, then can that person go and get help? Can they be treated for their illness before they loose control?

Studies show that 90% of people with the mental illness were sexually abused or had some traumatic experience as a child. People don't choose who they're attracted too, and I think they deserve a certain level of sympathy for that. I have great respect for those who can control themselves.

This movie is amazing because it took us inside a mind that has never been explained. Of course it is not right and anyone that is capable of hurting a child should be punished. But it makes us a little more humane to these people and even though were not going to ever except it, there is a little part in us that is more sympathetic. As long as they are trying to fix it.
