The very performance was unexpected; a performer trying to sync their movements to the improvised audio - it all started with "Vangelis Improvisation 1971", probably. Each day lived to learn something new. 👍🏻

It's the handmade wooden cover which is made in India, of course not the album itself, which is by an american label. Although bearing the name of a southern italian cheese.

@@any_username These intricated covers "made in India" are more popular than you think. For example the metal box of Muslimgauze's "Arabbox" or the silk pouches of the special reissue of "Syrinjia" have been indeed made in India. Somehow trying to stop globalization is a bit like trying to stop the ocean with bare hands.

Not a very common thing these days.

I saw his installation "Code-Verse" at the Centre Pompidou in Paris, in 2018. Electrifying, so say the least. July 17th 2000 @ Paradiso, you say? Then it was Formula [Prototype]. Great stuff, I have the video of it.

Robin's music has always been diverse. I see little "ritual" in his music, i think his purpose when leaving :zoviet*france: was to depart from that band's horizons to add more tribal, ethnic, and organic ambient elements. Then in 30 years of Rapoon, his music changed and evolved alot. Indeed a few of his albums might fall into the "dark ambient" category, but this is not a thing he indulged too much in.

@@zanderixx6322 It's like if the little "ritual" feeling in his music is present due to the nature of source material rather than on purpose, although the direction of CD artworks tells about the opposite... So it kinda makes me wonder... Say, Fallen Gods (the track) is -like a polished version of Muslimgauze- definitely tribal ambient, but this (and others) album includes many different elements, so that it's easier to think of an "eclectic output"/multiple (sub)genre tags.

@@zanderixx6322 I knew Massimo Magrini's art for ages, but weirdly, it's the first time I have a chance to listen to SsRS. 👍 BTW, speaking of Italian music, you haven't uploaded anything by Öophoi yet, - his "Bardo" album is a must-listen for any dark-, ritual ambient/drone fan, IMHO.

Bryn Jones would produce many more albums than any label could publish. He was able to record a whole album in 1 or 2 days. Every time he recorded a new album (usually on a 65 mins DAT), he would send it to his reference labels. This way, at the time of his passing, Staalplaat, Soleilmoon and other labels had many dozens of albums and unreleased material in their hands, but decided to publish it at a slow pace. In addition to this, after 1999 many older albums were remastered and reissued, in both vinyl and CD. In particular, "Khan Younis" is a collection of tracks that appeared on various compilations, and didn't make it on an album. This is the reason why new material kept appearing even decades after Bryn's death.
