    There was one that's was longer and higher than that one, it was called the Brushy Creek Trestle near Hackleburg, Alabama, it was 180 feet high, and longer than that one, it was taken down in 1996, after a teen boy fell off it

    I got some good drone footage of that area last year, looks to have degraded a tiny bit since then. Mate of mine has property on top of the hill, took my 8x8 down the hill: ua-cam.com/video/LHGeHWBBS8c/v-deo.html

      Hi there is talk that they might do a bit of of work on the bridge so push bikes can go over it. 8x8 sounds interesting. Have a good day

      @@robwhitingstravels2264 from the look of things, tgey have just diverted the trail around the bridge. I infer from that, pedestrian access to bridge probably wont be allowed again.

    When you get there at about @1:35 you can hear the birds, then the view you show. It immediately reminded me of Jurassic Park! (you are in the cage) 😊

    247 metres long? I wonder how this trestle bridge compares to the old one that traversed Gardiners Creek on the Outer Circle Line? Is that Standard Gauge?

      Sad part is there is a lot of railways closed down. I think a lot of them should be reopened but it will never happen. Shouldn't been closed down in the first place.

    Great spot Rob! I went to this spot back in March and did some filming. Seems like it's a hidden gem because if this was closer to Melbourne, everyone would flock to it.

      His name is Herbert Kingdom Rawle. His wife's name is Emily Elizabeth. They lived elsewhere in New South Wales, but must have retired in Darlington Point. He was a ww2 veteran.
