My beloved city in Ireland, I was there in 2004. Great atmosphere, great people, beautiful views, cool pubs and beautiful architecture. The atmosphere is reminiscent of Kazimierz Dolny in Poland. I Youghal should definitely put on Tourism is. Offer Weekend attractions. Indoor swimming pools, museums, sculptures, multimedia museum mobidick. Take advantage of new technologies, laser shows on the beach cinema movies. Organaize a lots of festiwals musik, art, for kids. Friends with art. Center of kultur. Make the education was beautiful. The kids had fun place for development. We know all this requires money but it is an investment in the future. Currently movie terrified me, chilled and a little scared .. shame. Because people are the most important.

I am a regular visitor to Youghal and it dismays me to see it vanishing slowly. It deserves to be up there with Bray/Kinsale. It has a great beach, Interesting buildings, Nice resturants. Like most towns the new buildings have not added anything to the area and the rail line should of been relaid back when the had the gear on the relay of the Midleton line. Closing the likes of the Diving rocks and having the cliff unrepaired is not good either. just shows the interest of the council really.

A very well made documentary. It's scary to be honest. I felt like I was watching a horror movie. All that was missing was blood splattered on the streets.

I saw the film in UCC in November and I was blown away by it. Excellent. It really should be shown to as wide an audience as possible.

Ill be moving to youghal in just a few weeks from the UK, Id love to see the rest of this film when you get it up online. Its kinda inspired me to think about making a film of my own about the move :)

Well, the likes of Tesco comes in and jobs are announced but over time all the little shops are forced to close and the local farmers etc are not able to sell their food so the whole area suffers in the long term. Now the big shops have monopolies in certain areas and they're growing in power.

@SuperGroundControl good view point, there are many irish towns suffering more than others... I agree that Cobh like Youghal lost out through the so called "boom years" no proper infrastructure or future planning... all has become quiet regarding industry and tourism... Thanks for viewing and as mentioned before we are hoping to have the full documentary online in the near future. To quote yourself "Its going to be up to local people now to save their towns." - that is so so true...

We are not pointing the finger but merely highlighting what has been troubling us as the filmmakers and hopefully speaking through film what the majority of Youghal's townspeople are thinking. Unfortunately Yoghal isn't unique. Cobh is the same. All jobs gone now and nobody did anything to save them. I'd love to see the rest of this - I think people are still in denial. Its going to be up to local people now to save their towns.
