That cave is there to bypass the gate if, for some reason, Gregor dies before he gives u the pass. I've seen one other player use the cave (I told him about) when Gregor died in the brine before reaching the gate...

On whm/sage popularity as simple healer over sch/ast from my pov is not because their are simpler, but rather they hold their damage fully in their own hands. Most of the time in pf i will play whm/sge, because usually party dmg is higher that way. In my static I play ast/sch, because monkeys in pf rarely sync party buffs properly after the opener. In static we adjust our 2 min windows around someone's death to get more dps from that window unless doing so will lose us another use of them, which never happens in pf. Why would I play ast tight-weaving cards in burst windows if simply playing whm will result in higher party dps?

34:33 I'm a full sprout, made my acc for like 1-2 years, but I'm only now finishing up with ARR (30 quests/shiva battle before heavensward), but I have various friends who play the game and all stated: the story in ARR and it's patches is the lowest of it all. it will get so much better later on. for me: the story is already interesting for me, it just damm long xD and yeah I have mostly no idea what is coming, expect for smaller things that are without context or stand a lone (like alph turning into sage or that the moon is somehow involved) BUT, I can trust my friends when they say, that the story is one of the best part of each expansion and to say: yeah I skip story it feels like: yeah I skip like 50% of the content of each expansion heck, idk if it keeps up, from what I can tell, ARR patches have so many voiced cutscenes (who is a blessing as I stream and read it all loud the story dialogs) that it's completly free parts. you just need to listen to it and you get the parts. and usual the cutscenes are these who have important stuff inside, like the Crystal Braves dialog with ishgard's holy paladin or so and for myself: I love rpgs and I love the story of it, I like to catch into them. heck I even read the yellow quest lines and to a degree the random npcs as well 44:48 the thing about that stuff is: bad sh** usual swims always on top of everything and get yelled the most. so usual good call outs usual drowns down from it 1:03:40 ok still no clue about the allianz raid, but I have to say: the concept that the endboss of a raid or raids (idk if later raids are connected like the crystal tower) combines everything from before in one fight sounds completly fitting, specially it's like a theme with ultima or just robo ultima weapon just used abilities from the 3 primae you fought and it made totally sense so why not give a allianz raid boss something similiar? 1:11:00 "but sakae, what bring me that, when they show new character and new areas? I actually agree with Lynx Kameli. let us not waste any precious resources on those lame High end fights such as savage mode and Ultima. Barely anyone plays them and they take up development time that could be used to improve the following far more played parts of the game. -pvp. -housing -glams -new dungeons - Q&L changes. -more story content. -role play stuff. -relic weapons. -Housing for everybody. I mean really who is going miss 0.1% of the player base that's anyway always angry and unhappy with the game? ;) Disclaimer: if people cannot tell I am just letting out stuff this is not what I actually think, as I believe all have the content that they like.

the only job that could use some more complexity is summoner. that or just more summons. let me rain lightning down using the staff of Ramuh! Let me drown my enemies through the power of the Levithian.

Imagine a ff14 where every new content had new and exciting mechanics. and only 4 jobs at a time were able to actually to do them. so every update you would had to reroll to said 4 jobs, just to enjoy your game.

The issue is, if you came in Shadow Bringers, so you didnt have to deal with the bullshit of ARR/HW/SB. You came in at a point in the game where the things that caused issues in the game were removed. A lot of issues if you hear from other players (class design ect ect ect) are rose colored glasses looking back on things they argued to have removed but found them 'fun now'. A lot of what Lynx argues are things from 2nd half knowledge as the man only came into the game at ShB, his 'fans' argue he was here at Heavensward but I do not hear anyone defending the head scratching choices the team made at the start of the re-launch into ARR. Also bonus points its come to attention that Lynx was part of an RMT group that would sell Ultimate and Savage clears for cash. So he turned XIV into his job with 7 other people selling these fights for good money. Xenos made good points against Lynx. Its better to create a bigger cup than to strip things out from other sides. While the classes have gotten simpler the fights have gotten harder. ARR, Titan Extreme was the gate boss for relics. You were fighting the server more than the actual boss. Then you have useless mechanics like Cleric Stance (trash), TP (tactical Points), having to carry a stack of an item to swap points. Tanks who wore DPS rings instead of their Tank rights (str= more damage but extra squish). Oh my favorite, your combo broke if you missed a flank or rear attack chain. The fights in Heavensward nearly killed the raid scene and its taken close to 2 expansions to bring raiding up to where it was pre-Gordias. The fights in Alexander were not hard, the mechanics were simple at the time and while fresh, you dealt more with the servers ping issues than anything else. The reason why people look back on those days with fondness is beyond me. Also added issues with the classes back then, summoner/scholar pets would not use skills upon activation and you weren't allowed to use scripts. So these skills were based on your gcd. Meaning if you're trying to hit Garuda's Slipstream ability you drifted 2 gcd's. Paladin was the red headed step child for nearly 3 expansions (HW, Stormblood and Shadowbringers). You never took a monk for content in Stormblood and in Heavensward they rapidly would run out of TP to do their combos (no TP= no damage) if your melee died they also got no TP. Cleric stance was ping sensitive, it wasnt 'stance dancing' it was 'stance, pray to god it turned off' dancing majority of the time unless you spent an extra 20 on exitlag. The comp you always ran in Heavensward and Stormblood was Warrior Dark Knight, Astro, Scholar, Ninja, Dragoon, Bard, Summoner/Black Mage. Ninja babied the whole group, trick attack, goad, smoke screen so enmity was never an issue. Warrior provided its own slashing up buff, so the Ninja would have to provide its own slash buff on any target tanked by the Dark Knight. Have a white Mage for prog...you better smoke screen him because the tanks didnt want to use their Defense stance as it was a DPS loss. Almost all Tanks used their DPS stance over their tank stance because it was better (hence the Ninja). So classes like Monk, Samurai, the ping reliant Machinist and Red Mage were always left out in the cold for content. The classes as they stand right now are more viable than they were 8 years ago. If you asked a Paladin, White Mage, Monk, Samurai and even Red Mage who played in Stormblood, all had issues with their classes because they were being freezed out of content. Your group had to be 100% fine with you bringing one of those classes or you had to be in the top 10% of players to even get a spot. Now with all that BS out of the way, there are issues in class design. The 2 minute window is a community inflicted wound by the speed runners who were doing fast kills in content. The Ease of access for some classes were done by people on the lower end of the community who couldnt (and still cannot) be bothered to read their tooltips that is Monk and Summoner being the higher technical classes. White Mage has had its identity stripped and spread to both Scholar and Astro pre-Shadowbringers. It had three unique skills, a Protect that gave a 10% magic defense buff ontop of a 5% defense buff, Stone skin that scaled off the targeted member's HP and Divine Seal that doubled its Heal potency for 30 seconds. Then in Endwalker they nerfed Thin air because Astro mains complained fervently that it was not fair that White Mages could cast with no MP cost. Even though Astros have been the top healer since 3.4 of Heavensward due to its buffing mechanic. Scholar lost a lot of its damage skills. However I argue that's more design choice as Yoshida has gone on record multiple times that he wants healers to just 'heal' and that the community itself constantly pushes DPS first over healing in every engagement. Probably as to why the last 2 tiers of Endwalker's raids have been more Heal heavy. The Healers still need more buttons to press before damage comes out so this is more on Yoshida's class philosophy around healers. Either make it so healing is harder due to environment or add more dps buttons to healer. Its not a hard choice.

This guy is literally why the saying "Don't yuck someone else's yum" exists. Just because the game no longer caters to what is the only thing that he enjoys in his head, everyone else can get bent for it. FF14 has always been a game for a multitude of player types: the ones who came for the story, the ones who migrated from other MMOs, the people who wanted a more casual MMO, the role players who enjoy the housing and crafting, the people who made accounts for nothing but the mahjong (I'm serious on this one, some people made trial accounts JUST for the mahjong XD), the list can go on for this. The sad part was he made crumbs of good points, but it all got buried under all the butthurt and bitter statements in his video...

only part way through but the reason I think WoW looks bad isn't anything to do with fidelity. It's because the overworld looks bland and boring (from what I've seen of it). Even though the game technically has the capability to be more detailed than FF currently they just didn't seem to use it. Also the cinematics in WoW used to be amazing even back in WC3 they were the best you would find anywhere then they turned them into some CGI Disney monstrosity instead.

This video by Lynx has a very bitter and whiny cadence to it that I don't think conveyed their points well (the only two I think they had to begin with) As a player that picked this game up in late SHB this game has highs and lows which become really apparent at endgame. The main ones for me being that class design is really boring and there isn't much max level combat content to do that holds MY interest. A lot of the draw to this games encounters is the "learning the dance" part, but after I learn the dance it becomes dull to me. I understand though, that a lot of players like that and never want that to change and that's OK, but it does feel bad to have to sit through 2+ years of endwalker and just be like "guess I'll wait to see if Dawntrail is better. Players now and later will enjoy this game no matter what direction SE takes it, but it's valid for some players to mourn that the game that they love no longer feels good to them. This video in particular isn't the best way to express that, but each person copes differently ig. The game is made for everyone yes, but that doesn't mean everyone has to love or like every aspect of the game. Telling a high end raider to go do island sanctuary or any content vastly different than what they enjoy only accentuates that there isn't much in the game to do that THEY will enjoy.

He was super elitist to a lot of people. some have done the math and if he actually did play for 12k hours over 6 years, it’s highly likely that he would afk in Limsa or other areas and leave his game running while he was asleep or gone, because the math said it equates to a whole second life within the game. (some also said it was like having a full time job with no vacation).

Actually Heavensward relic weapons are kinda easy, u can passively farm those if u completed the first one, if u have leveled blue mage is even easier. But the others like for example stormblood one's you need to farm the pain called Eureka, and I havent even dared to step on that place bc ppl have recalled to me their traumas with that area lmfao. ARR one is a very hard grind too. Even the ones for the crafting and gathering jobs are a pain lol. Idk what is this dude on abt, like sure 2 minute meta sucks ig, but I felt for the most part he was just salty and bitter towards the game and idk why. I dont know this dude either bc I joined 14 in august so
