I compare the older Xpac triple Aught Design axiom to the brand new ultra Axiom. I also do some quick comparisons to the ULA Dragon, Goruck dyneema gr1, and the Goruck Bullet.

Just a real shittily made video to test some things out.
Thank you for the video, trying to visualize the space available for the pack, this helped a lot.
I think you planned your setup around the old layout. You seem like a pouch gear guy so just adjust by using different pouches and pack for the new version. I think they removed all the zippers to reduce weight. This is a 19 liter bag, it’s not supposed to carry 22-24 liter of things. Practice packing lighter which I think you’ll adapt fine too.
Does it fit?
Keye-mera
I just rewatched this and my comment about the valve stem made no sense. I carry the valve as a backup. I’ve had them fail before . It’s only useful for tubeless setup. Not sure what I was thinking in the video.
Doe's TAD replace the shoulder straps if they get worn flat?
Not sure!
How's it work out for you?
I took it on a 3 day trip involving planes and Ubers and a lot of walking. I think it did pretty well. I’m a pretty light packer but i had to have it packed to the brim for this type of one bag travel but I knew that’d be the case when I took it. My only real ding on it is that when do you fully pack it out and put some weight in it the straps just aren’t quite as comfortable as other goruck bags. Not horrible , but if they put the straps from a GR! On it for example it’d be much better.
@@h0liday76 then you would have a regular GR2 lol. But agreed, seems like a common complaint. I think this works better as an EDC bag TBH
@@scootermcgoot well not exactly but i see you’re point. a gr2 in 26L is wider and i prefer the width of a bullet over the boxy gr2. Totally agree this bag is more aimed at EDC . I guess i just feel like any bag should have straps that are comfortable up to a reasonable weight based on the load they’re designed to carry.
@@h0liday76 agreed. I'm planning to sell my GR2 26 and get this instead.. I plan to use this a gym/EDC bag. Thanks for your review!
@@h0liday76 oh one question, does this bag pack down small if it's empty? Wondering how small it can flatten for travel, never had a rip stop gr before
This color of this pack in your video looks darker than the color shown on Goruck's website. Which would you say is more true to life? The baby blue on their site isn't as appealing as the more deeper teal that your video shows
I think my lighting actually made it look a little darker
All Bullet Rucks have the same problem: narrow shoulder strap. Not a problem with light loads, but painful with heavy loads.
Yeah. I agree. It wasn’t the worst , but using a 20L gr1 would have been more comfortable.
Perfect timing for the video!!
It's kymare-a
Awesome review. Thinking of getting this too because of the sale
Looks like I'll upgrade my 2018 iPad Pro to the iPad mini this month (if they release a new model on May 7th)
Yeah, I’m also interested in a mini
The packing cube as shown is 8L

So does it fit? How about using two hands? How about without the keyboard case?
Heh. No it doesn’t fit with the case. It probably fits without it. How many hands you use is irrelevant. I may do another video once I actually start using it.
It fits without the keyboard case, this guy is kinda slow
Why would I want to remove my iPad case to fit it? The video was made because it was mentioned by carryology folks that an iPad 11 would fit. Which is technically true, if you don’t use a case (like a dang animal).
who tf cares
You're out here doing exactly what we see, what else can you fit in there
good question! Maybe when I use it I'll make a video.
I think Alpaka have the best iPad Sling,
I think the Bravo Sling Pro/X V2 can fit that. May I ask if you know whether Alpaka’s Go Series sling can fit the iPad?
For eg. Go Sling Mini V2?
@@cavan_goh_reviews the regular one does in the website you can filter the sling by devices actually
HOW DARE YOU! HE said it fits, you must have the 12.9” iPad.
It’s a good test, I really need this test , I’m just concerned how big is this bag
Thanks, I go for the brown color and are they water resistant or rain proof?🌧
Definitely not waterproof. Fairly water resistant
Ive ordered mine 3 weeks ago - I’ve ordered the Large Wildcard cordura , how are you liking your bag so far ? Is it spacious ?
The older version is better for me.
Medium sized bootstrap capacity is approximately 14 litres. 👍
Thanks for the video! I have been looking at a pre owned older model Axiom and was considering the new version. The use would be as a day pack while on the water for an up coming trip to Costa Rica. I think I prefer the older model. Huge help! Thanks!
Happy to help!
I have 24 if you're looking
Thanks for this! Seems like the old bag had some superior features
Yep. Arguably it does indeed.
Thanks for posting this - helpful!
Glad it was helpful!
9:29 what kind of pouches are these here? ( the blue and the black )
5:55 cam jam is the name you were looking for…
These bags look really good without all the molle…
Nice. Thanks Holiday.
Is it hard to keep clean?
Not really. Just a wipe down with something mild does the trick
Great Video, learned lots!
Awesome bag. Too small for your frame.
I haven’t found that to be the case but keep in mind in this video I had not adjusted the harness yet apparently . If you mean the bag is too itself is too small, that’s not really a thing here unless you’re talking subjective fashion related fit in which case I’ll just say, “sure”. If you’re talking the removable interchangeable futura harness I’ve found the sm/medium is comfortable up to a certain weight that I wouldn’t really go over with this type of bag. If I’m overnight backpacking with a fixed harness with hip belt that’s when toros size comes into play. For me that means I run a 24” setup.
It seems to fit a lot in there. I’m not sure about 11 2 liters of soda but a lot
Yeah I’d call the sizing of it optimistic
I believe that I might have seven or eight 2 liters empties and full around. I’ll test to see how that goes @@h0liday76
How do you like the material? The feel of it
In a big fan of xpac in general for backpacks.

Just watched to the end. You got there 😂
@@kevinchenard1766 I’m a little slow. I mean, I couldn’t even remember “beaver tail”.
great to see. Poles in holes?
apparently i dont know what this is because it's an Aeropress "go", no mini :).
*has SIX sides "Kind of like a OCTAGON flavor to it." 😜
Any final thoughts about this Alpaka Elements compared to the CIVIC 2L and the Peak Design Tech Pouch?
This is what I’ll say, out of these i still only own the cap2, and i have two of them.
who makes that micro zip pouch with the guitar pick and money in it?

Who knew a few flash bangs fit so well.
The Perfect Pack sent me here.
I want to get some of those…and then hope I actually go somewhere 😂. I love Peak Design!
Same thoughts here 😂
Good review!
That was good. I like the organization of it and I like how you showed the size comparison between the most popular tech pouches out right now. I thought the CAP2 was larger for some reason. That is a very well designed pouch.
I’m very surprise with the size of it. I always thought the Dan stuff was smaller. But seeing it combines with there cap2 and the PD pouch…. It’s a nice size.
