I miss you so much and the pain isnt getting better. PLEASE come back to us and teach us more. please dont be gone.
RIP.
So sorry to learn of your passing, Bob.
It seems we loss a great an inspirational Musician daily. I'd seen Bob live and he was awesome as a player and entertainer. Now I understand that he was a philosopher as well. I ultimately agree with everything he said as along as one understands that there are great players in every decade and style and even if they buy into the corporate success model they still can be exception. RIP Bob, you are still an inspiration and I will share your words.
Sleep well Bob x
I just watched it for the third time, and I still got something. This guy was a prophet.
i will miss you forever bob brozman. you are amazing. i am so honored to have been your friend. xo
RIP Bob... what a Human being he was... What a loss for Mankind, at a moment when such minds would have been needed the most. So early...
R.I.P Bob :(
The name of the song at the end?(which he played even around 10:00..)
Bob was a treasure and the world is somewhat diminished with his passing. So few musicians and performers have grasped the true meaning of music to this degree, and even fewer have put it into practice. RIP my brother. I hope we meet again.
RIP BOB.. we will always have youtube..
I've loved and revisited this video for years RIP Bob Brozman
R.I.P.
As a musician watching this, it is inspiring, not only to hear mastery of an instrument, but also to see the passion for the music is awesome. Also Bob Brozman singing minnie the moocher in french is somehow incredibly badass.
Totally love what he's saying - so on my wavelength about the universality of music and how humans relate to it. Apart from the fact that he out-classes me by miles as a musician, I reckon he'd be a real hoot to jam with.

I totally needed to hear him say, 'Play'. Thanks bro.
As few already said, for me too this is one of the most worthful videos on UA-cam. The reason? I can watch Bob Brozman talk and play for over twenty minutes. Fucking long. Vive Bob Brozman, vive la technologie d'Internet et vidéos!
Excellent video...wonderful insights particularly regarding the rhythmic approach to music. However, while I loved the hard science explanation of what happens. I don't like the employment of magic. Unless you meant to use 'magic' in a semantical sense as in 'the underlying essence of the world that science doesn't understand and in fact never will'. For me, the wonder of awareness and the world around us lies in the incredibly potent mystery..no invocations required. Love your musical style!
Excellent video...wonderful insights particularly regarding the rhythmic approach to colonial versus colonized music. However, while I loved the hard science explanation of what happens.
I was thinking about getting a brass body resonator and went looking for youtube vids showing BBR's...and found Bob..then forgot why I was watching...then went back a week later for more Bob. I've played AT making music all my adult life, and to hear someone else clearly and plainly justify my style of improvisational play is just awesome. Bob is truly a master, of stage, mind and music. I only wish I'd discovered him sooner in life. Bravo! As Arthur Dent would say. Thank the almighty Bob!
This video is totally awesome! Thank you for the sharing.
Just wanted to thank you for this great synopsis on music. I first saw it a few years ago and fiind myself watching it again and again over the years...it really helps remind me of what's important about living life as a musician. Thanks again. God bless
Quelle belle leçon, et philosophie de vie! Merci Bob! You're such a mentor for millions of us. Continue, please continue to educate us. Mario Pronovost
It's like your feelings are a language nobody else speaks and you're alone, mute and the only translator that you have is this. (the guitar) I saw Bob perform a few years back and I felt so alive and inspired after his show that it had a profound effect on my playing. Bob is in a league of his own when it comes to thinking and expressing his hard learned observations about music and people. He is one in a handful of musicians capable of full and honest expression.
Hirayasu is a pretty cool guy.
Very inspiring... but when I listen to the Black Crowes I don't think Rock and roll died in 1972...
VERY GOOD
I am ashamed to say I never heard of him. He's brilliant !!!! Thanks for introducing me to him.
@brunodmtl To clarify, I was talking about the lowest common denominators of pop music, which is NOT the same thing as SIMPLE music!! Much of the best music in the world is SIMPLE. But Britney music is just stupid, and made ONLY for making money, not for advancing any art form particularly IMHO As to the rock died comment, I agree that in ANY era, and in ANY genre, there will always be SOME good music. I was talking more about the way music is marketed. And I agree 100% about youtube +net
He´s the man... nothing more to add
come to mexico
love the playing, although all of creation praises their maker. I can only imagine the Bob B's, the Jimi H's, the stevie ray's, who would glorify God with their music.
To me Bob brozman is our times Roy Smeck .He can play any stringed instument he wants to.Hes is one of the very few who can drive the National guitars to it full potensial.Bob is a very good friend of music.
17:37 to 18:05 Hoyl Shit!!!!
I was lucky to attend his masterclass and concert last night in Spalding. I never gave rhythm a thought but he has got more RHYTHM than rhythm itself and he has changed my out look as a musician any body can learn a a guitar by tab but it takes a real musician to understand RHYTHM. Thankyou Bob for opening up my eyes:)
For those people who don't understand why there is talking in this video: It is simple--it is an interview. He is answering questions being asked of him. Plenty of music-only clips of Bob on youtube
Art has a liberal, leftist bias. Thanks, Bob.
Well I hope I don't need to become a Leftist to "get it" musicly speaking. But I do really enjoy your "Radical" views on music.A musician should always speak from the heart.I can stand the politics that's in you as long as you keep sharing the music that's in you ;)
We can tell you it is not "pre-rehearsed" or even rehearsed....he is just used to tryng to express himself clearly. Still, agree/disagree is a good thing... to stimulate discussion of any kind!
Haha, that's awesome. Also note that it was released in 1972. The year rock & roll became rock.
..Bob, a big giant weight has just been ripped off of my shoulders while watching this!!! I really think I might be able to find my roots again... Thank you!!!!
fantastic blend of cultures
unreal
Bob's singing has improved since then. Great blend of styles and tones though.
wat chords do u use fore begginer blues???
Great sanshin play! I love it!!
You changed my life for the better Bob. Thank you!
anyone know more about the intro music which sounds very interesting
