A snowy ride on the Arapeen Skyline June 14, 2024
This is the section of the Skyline above Ephraim Canyon. I thought I'd see how far up I could go expecting not to even get onto the main road. But there was a snow removal crew busting through the last snowbanks, and I was able to follow them a little while. I've never seen snow removal done on the Skyline before. Usually, we just have to wait until July to ride up there.

This is a great connector trail that links Fred's Flat to the Skyline Drive near the radio towers at the top of Ephraim Canyon. It is quite steep and has just enough rocks and roots in the trail to keep your attention. At the top, it goes through a very pretty meadow and parallels a creek.
A sketchy spot on a very steep and loose hill!

We started up this hill and found a fence across the road near the top. It had no gate, and no turnaround spot. We were forced to back down the hill backwards. A combo of steepness and round loose rocks under us made it hard to keep the machines going on a straight line down the hill.

This is a world class trail located in Garfield County, Utah outside the small town of Panguitch. It is only for 50" or less width machines. It's only 5.5 miles long and doesn't have any technical spots, but it's beauty and scenery definitely make up for it. Plus, it's just a plain fun ride! I recommend riding it both directions (up and down) and different times of the day. It has a different a...

This was on our club ride for May 2024. I decided to run the sand hill while everyone else was hiking in the slot canyon. I'd been in the slot before and was more interested in how my new Carlisle ACT tires mounted on my stock wheels would do in the deep sand of the quite steep hill.

A complete ride from the switchbacks to the Denis Julien inscription at the mouth of Hell Roaring. This ride was taken after the BLM's closure went into effect but was halted due to an appeal by the State of Utah and the Blue Ribbon Coalition. I had a 2005 and I now have a 2014 just like this example. The big difference is the 05 did not have power steering , but the 14 has fuel injection. A big plus in cold weather. They rode the same otherwise. The most important difference is fuel injection. This guy needs to forget about the Prairie.
